My partner and I have stayed in many hostels over the years, but honestly, this was the worst experience we’ve had. The vibe was off — it felt more like a place where people live long-term rather than a welcoming spot for travelers. The atmosphere wasn’t friendly. The hygiene standards were shockingly low. When we went to make breakfast, the kitchen was in an appalling state — dirty and neglected. Unfortunately, I also left my Kindle behind in the room. I contacted someone via email and paid for it to be posted back to me in Sydney. However, I never received it. I was never given a tracking number or any proof that it had been sent. After multiple unanswered emails and failed attempts to call, someone finally picked up and told me that the person who handled the mailing no longer works there, and no tracking information was available. I honestly doubt it was ever posted. Overall, I would never stay at this hostel again or recommend it to anyone. It was a truly disappointing and unpleasant experience.

It was ok. Rooms and sheets were clean, was easy to check in and out and people were chill. Bathrooms and kitchen/common areas a little gross but that's on people not cleaning up after themselves, not the cleaners. If uve stayed at a backpackers before it's ok, it works.

We stayed here for two days and it was an absolutely terrible experience. The facilities were in a shocking state of disrepair — there was no storage, no dustbin, and barely any functioning fixtures. The bathroom was particularly horrendous: knobs were broken, and even when hot water was available, it would randomly switch to freezing cold or scalding hot mid-shower. Halfway through washing our hair, the water completely cut out. We had to step out, soaking wet, to ask the manager what was going on. Instead of apologising or addressing the issue, he flat-out denied anything was wrong, gaslit us, and aggressively blamed us for the water issue. The manager’s behaviour was creepy, unprofessional, and deeply unsettling. His attitude made us feel unsafe and extremely uncomfortable throughout our stay. The kitchen and common areas were filthy — so disgusting that we avoided them entirely. The tap water tasted awful, and shortly after drinking it, I ended up sick with an infection. It’s incredibly disappointing because the location had potential, but the lack of hygiene, basic amenities, and the disturbing conduct of the staff made this a dreadful experience. I strongly advise against staying here.

I called ahead that our flight got delayed and we will arrive after reception hours. Talked to the front desk and was assured that later that day I will receive an email with pin number and instructions how to get inside. No email was send. Then arrived at the hostel after 11pm. Have to call number for emergency. Staff arrived and told us that he can see our booking and confirmation but unfortunately there is someone else staying in our room and they have no room available and he doesn’t know what to do. After a while he find us a room totally downgraded what I paid for. We had to make our beds and the room just wasn’t ready for arrival. I paid for double room with private bathroom! And after traveling all day you just want to go sleep and not to deal with this situation and make your own bed. Even the staff told us that we should get some refund and expect a call from the manager in the morning. Nothing happened. I’m trying to contact them since then but no phone call is getting through and every time I leave voicemail with my phone number no one reaches out to me.

I had booked two nights and was asked to leave after one. I get that some people may not want to hear the throes of passion outside my door, but anyone offended by such delicious delicacies as the Jordanian and Japanese man I had a round with that day, don't have to stick around to listen to be honest. I am an adult, and this establishment has only other adults in the vicinity. Even still I paid for a private room, and I have every right to that privacy, especially what happens within the confines of said room. The attendant did not give any reasonable grounds to remove me, and another female, who had decided to take up residence in my room for the evening. She had paid for her own room, but did not utilize it on this night because my energy was too delicious to refuse. He was very abrupt, abrasive and unprofessional in his dealings - I was actually quite embarrassed for all parties, especially the attendant. What a Prude! I would not recommend if you were just passing through for a good time. You might find their babysitter tactics a bit untoward, but hey different strokes for different folks. Workers or the elderly are more appropriate; especially welcome are asexual, as they will not howl at the moon at all hours of the night during a half waxing moon. It's more of a working hostel, that is a bit too strict. This was as fair as I could be in this review, because like.... really? LOL!!!!

Great position, easy walk into town. Beds were creaky, had to sleep on the floor. Showers were poor. Service is provided by other backpackers typically. Was a while ago now so my review isn’t current current.

Is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in! I recommend it 100%. I have been there for a whole month and I have felt like at home. I had a private room with a private bathroom, but I have seen the shared bathroom and everywhere was clean. Huge kitchen with fridges and a freezer, cleaned daily. The washing machine washes with cold water but cleans well, costs $3. For hanging out the washing there is space outside. The hostel is very well located. Coles and dominos are close by. Internet was fine in the mornings but in the evenings it was better not to need it. Parking is free of charge. One thing to keep in mind is that for check-in it is better to have a phone at hand in case the reception is closed. The manager is SUPER nice. I am very grateful for my time there. I hope to be back soon!

Yelp
This is literally just a room to sleep in. There was no towel or soap, no clock, just a room with a bed. The only reason I didn't rate this place one star is that they have a cat. At least you have a cat to amuse you while you avoid going back to your four bare walls and guessing when you'll wake up. Oh yeah, it's dirt cheap. Hardly a redeeming value though.
