How wonderful was it to have the lovely Logan show and explain to me the history of trams in Launceston and tell me about the restoration of the trams from the original fleet. The tram ride out side takes you down memory lane from days of old. Inside there is what was an Launceston tram that went onto be used as a chicken coup, how funny. This tiny museum packs so much information in that I’m sure you will definitely enjoy it, plus it’s free! If you like you can always become a volunteer or a financial donor to assist with an proposed extension to bring in more of their trams resting elsewhere.

Great little museum. It’s small but hearty. Free entry to the museum and $6.50 per adult tram rides. Note this is run by volunteers and therefore has limited opening days and hours

Very interesting & enjoyable. Great for children to experience. Brings back memories of the good old days traveling the towns by tram.

We had a fantastic time celebrating my husband's birthday, a train lover who loves trains and their history. The museum is beautiful, and all the volunteers are wonderful and very helpful. They helped us immerse ourselves in history and enjoy our visit.

They're never open and don't update when they will be closed 😕 do not trust their opening times because they're not correct 😒 I've driven from devonport 4 times now to take my little boy here and everytime they have been shut my son is absolutely train and tram mad and its sad that there's not an opportunity for him to learn about our tram history. It's the school holidays and they're closing 45 minutes early.

The website and google maps said it was open, but it was closed. A few other parents with kids also came and were surprised to find it closed. Some notice would have been good for those who travelled a long way to get there.

The Launceston Tramway Museum is closed. What a disappointing experience! Please check and update the information. It will not reopen until 6 January
