This week was my second visit to Laurelwood Public House, for Portland Mercury's Wing Week 2021, to try their Porter-Honey-Chili Wings (pictured), which feature a reduction of their house-made Tree Hugger Porter, in a honey glaze, lightly spiced up, with chili flakes. It was definitely a good, sweet and mildly spicy glaze - I rarely drink beer, anymore, but porters are arguably my favorite kind, and the reduction did add a noticeable, unique quality to this glaze.
The service was really good. Friendly, sociable and helpful, not overbearing. It should be noted that to dine in, they do require proof of vaccination or a very recent negative test. Just a heads up, to hopefully save any readers from potential frustration.
Anyways, my first visit was for Burger Week 2021, for their Posolé Burger, which featured a hominy corn slaw, guajillo bacon jam, queso fresco, and garlic mayo, for a modern twist on a classic Mexican comfort food. I don't think I can retroactively attach my already-uploaded photo of it, to this review, without deleting or duplicating, so if you want to see my photo of the Posolé Burger, you may have to click a few times, and scroll in maps, to find it, or visit my foodie Instagram, and scroll down about a month.
