Yelp
Somewhat overrated if you'd ask me. Not sure you did, but I like to share my honest opinion. So here it is. We visited yesterday for the first time since the great covid depression. I mean it is a pool, and on the average day I find it is always nice to see trees and a body of water, but due to being overly advertised and extremely popular it gets crowded really fast and with it come most of the known issues that always appear with greater density of population. And I am not just talking about rude drivers and awkwardly oriented pedestrians, who are reluctant to survive or hoping drivers will notice them and slam on the brakes last minute, people transporting passengers in beds of pick up trucks and all, but, literally after paying like $15.00 per person for the joy of swimming in the outdoor pool you will soon figure out that actually swimming is not an option as if you even dare to stretch your hands you'd hit the person standing nearby, flotation devices are not allowed, the lady at the entrance dreamed to work for TSA and will derive weird pleasure out of going through the underwear in your bag. Ok, not a biggie she just does her job the best she can while making sure we are all safe from the perils of all those people trying to sneak the contraband items to the blessed pool. Another odd thingy is a cloud and half sets everyone here into a panic mode and mind you it is actually located in South Eastern part of Idaho where wind below 45 mph is not even perceived like anything out of the ordinary. But bigger cloud sets the emergency alert and horrible ear-splitting alarm goes off. So you'd be like, cool, we just drove few dozens of miles and also paid $60 to just soak in your overcrowded pool for 30 minutes. Now you can't wait to get rid of us. Won't let us change before we leave? Cool. We never coming back. Much better option is open pool in Indian Springs or even your half-a-pool at the local Gold's Gym. Trying to raft nearby also sucks big time as the trees on each side are not maintained and one risks to get a branch onto their eye or to hit the body on the rock. Also Portneuf river is far from cleanest. Let me just put it this way, and do not even get me started on weird posters mentioning bare butts. So if you ever dream to feel like you going through the customs at the airport and then enjoy socializing standing in the body of water this place is for you, if not I'd look elsewhere. Thought to attach photos later.
P.S. I won't attach photos as my time also has value and editing 35 other people who would not want to be on picture is a chore. If the actual safety of patrons was really a concern the owner would enforce the maximum occupancy limits. In case there is real and not imaginary threat, this location has a potential to make the news.
