Cefalus oldest launderette.
The old washhouse for the town from the medieval period. The entrance os about 100 metres on the left from the beach into the first street into the old town.
The water comes from a spring and and then the water gets segmented in square stone sections where people used to wash ther clothes etc in each one.
In the summer the water is lovely and cool in after the hot sun.
The water legend has it comes form the tears of a mourning nymph
The stone plaque at the entrance says" Here flows Cefalino, healthier than any other river, purer than silver, colder than snow.
