Lavender, A Four Sisters Inn (Napa / Sonoma Valleys, California) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A walkable location in Yountville is a gourmet’s paradise; Lavender, A Four Sisters Inn is just across the street from the French Laundry, and a quick stroll away from various wineries and tasting rooms. The hotel consists of a quartet of smartly renovated 19th-century farmhouses, slightly set apart amid gardens blooming with wild roses and hydrangeas. The idea behind Four Sisters, an upscale hotel collection with properties throughout California, is to bring together the sophistication of a boutique hotel with the warmth of a bed-and-breakfast. In the Napa Valley location, this means elegant interiors with a French country twist, plus homey amenities like freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and an afternoon wine hour." - Tablet Hotels

As a seasoned traveler, I am excited when a hotel exceeds my expectations in every way possible. The Lavender, part of the Four Sisters collection, did just that. The room was spacious and had a fireplace and large bathroom. We enjoyed our daily afternoon complimentary wine and cheese platters on their lovely outdoor furniture by the fire pit. The complimentary breakfast was gourmet and a culinary masterpiece. They baked fresh cookies every day and always asked us what else we needed. We were lucky to have Christy, John and Carlos to help us pick restaurants, choose wineries to visit, or things to do. We will definitely return and can't wait for our next Napa adventure.

This is the best bed and breakfast/boutique motel we've ever stayed in. The service was exceptional, the breakfast was fantastic, and the front desk gave us great recommendations for food and wine experiences. Experiences. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. We will definitely be back here many times!

My room was small and on the corner facing the street. I did get the room at a discount so I am sure I get the cheapest least desirable room. 2 outdoor seating areas for my room and an extra deep outdoor bathtub with jets. Noise from the room upstairs wolk me at 5am. They got up and packed and accidentally set off their car alarm. Walking distance to many restaurants and shops.

When we arrived it was pouring rain.. we were welcomed by a friendly front desk lady and a warm fire. She invited us back in for wine and appetizers after we got settled into our room. We were celebrating my husbands birthday and it was perfect! The wine and appetizers were a great way to get in the Napa mood before catching our reservation down the street. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, they provided a clothing steamer and fan in the jacket closet and even had fresh baked cookies with our welcome packet. We enjoyed the private spa on our patio under the rain. It was nice that it drained with each use, so you didn’t have the smell of chlorine wafting about. Breakfast was delicious. Poached eggs and cheesy potatoes, fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits and overnight oats, assorted breads/muffins and the best coffee cart! Anything you could sweeten your coffee or tea with was available. Dairy and oat creamer as well. I would love to come back in Spring or early Summer to enjoy some of the outdoor common places and bikes they loan out. The twinkle lights and grounds make for a very welcoming garden environment.

What a lovely place to stay! Our cottage style room was super pretty, cozy, quiet, and clean. Staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was included, which we appreciated a lot right before a wine tasting at 9 am. The breakfast also had a great variety and included vegetarian/vegan options. The wine and cheese hour early evening and the nightcap were delicious - super thoughtful and sweet idea!! Yountville downtown is walking distance, which made our stay even more enjoyable as we walked to most restaurants! If you plan to visit Yountville for wine tasting, my recommendation is 2-3 wine tastings per day to prevent the stress of driving from one to the other. My only complaint: The coffee machine in the room was high quality - but hard to figure out which way the pods were supposed to go 😆

Google
Super cozy, small boutique hotel within walking distance of everything in Yountville. I could not have been happier with my brief stay. Everyone working here was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was great and you can't beat evening wine and cheese in front of the fireplace. I wish I could have stayed a lot longer. Two thumbs up!

We really enjoyed this property. We stayed at a Four Sisters property a few years ago and were happy to find that this one lived up to their reputation. The property was lovely and the location was perfect- it was an easy walk to town and great for running near the surrounding vines. The staff was so nice too. The bathroom and outdoor space were large.

Yelp
This was our first time staying in Yountville, as we typically stay in Sonoma or Napa for our wine trips. What a pleasant surprise to find this small inn, right in the heart of town. All of the restaurants and tasting rooms are within walking distance from here and they even supply bikes if you want to ride the wine trail. Our room had high ceilings and fireplace with a large glass patio door that opened up to our own private courtyard. Breakfast was included in the main house with options like eggs Benedict , breads, oatmeal, yogurt fruit etc... I would like to come back for a longer stay!

Yelp
If you're looking to stay at a charming inn with amazing customer service that is just steps away from delicious restaurants and wine tasting rooms, you need to stay at Lavender. We stayed here because we wanted to be stumbling distance away from the French Laundry (a 1 minute walk away in heels lol) and it was perfect. When we checked into the inn, I mentioned to Wesley that I was disappointed that we missed the wine and cheese hour, he quickly assembled a lovely plate for us and poured us 2 glasses of red wine. So nice! He also offered to take pics of my husband and I around the property and gave us a quick synopsis of everything we could do that was within walking distance. In the mornings, Susan took very good care of us. Always smiling as she greeted us and laid out the lavish buffet breakfast. Juices, water, teas, and coffee included. Other notes: *You could sign out complimentary bicycles *No Tesla charger on the premises, but close by *Ample parking around the inn *Nice welcome card and warm cookies on your bed upon arrival I would absolutely stay here again...last time we stayed at Bardessono (a completely different experience and even more spectacular, but 3 times the cost of Lavender).

Yelp
This is a great little inn nestled into the neighborhood in the middle of town. The inn has spas on the big patio and huge soaking tubs, fireplace. All restaurants are basically.3 miles from the inn, so a 7 minute walk. I would stay here again, no other place had all the amenities I look for in a room. The staff are very accommodating.

Yelp
My partner booked us a two-night stay for my birthday weekend. Lavender was every bit as lovely as the other reviews promised. We got the loft, which was a very spacious suite. It was quiet and relaxing. Lavender is just a few minutes walking distance from The French Laundry, which was the primary purpose of our visit to Yountville. It was great to be able to have a leisurely dinner at TFL without worrying about arranging Lyfts, which can be tricky to get in the area late at night. Free breakfast is provided by the Inn 8am-10am. Wine & cheese hour is 4:30pm-5:30pm. The grounds are beautiful and covered in flowers, and yes, lavender. Lovely, serene place for a romantic getaway. We hope to return.

Yelp
We came here for a local area staycation for mother's day weekend. I wasn't sure what to expect after having stayed at another four sister's inn location in Monterey, and having had a really negative overall experience. I'm glad to say however, that this stay was a huge improvement over our last four sisters stay, and was actually quite lovely. To secure our reservation, we booked over the phone and the person answering was cordial, helpful and sent me our documents promptly once we were done. I was looking forward to the stay, although completely forgot about the heat of Napa. I lived in Napa county for a few years, and it gets REALLY HOT. Bring your swimsuit. When we arrived, we were thrilled at the location-walking distance to downtown Yountville and in the same neighborhood as the French Laundry. The property is beautiful from the exterior, and has a row of lavender across the parking lot inside the estate. Check-in was a breeze, and we were given the keys to room one with our afternoon wine and cheese basket to enjoy. Our room was detached from the main building, and had a small fenced courtyard, with reclining seats, a lounger and a soft water feature. Inside the room it was well appointed, with a king sized bed, tiled bathroom with soaking tub, and large windows overlooking the courtyard and front property. I am the embodiment of the princess and the pea, so I always have issues with beds, but the rest of the room was good. Aside from the afternoon wine and cheese daily, they also make to order breakfast that they drop off in the morning at your time of choosing. We were served a veggie quiche, banana muffins, yogurt with fruit and granola and some hot beverages. This was a great experience, and we thought the food was prepared with care, and all tasted fresh. Once our stay was over, we checked out in person, and turned over our room key. I definitely would recommend this for someone looking for a place to stay in Yountville, especially for the walking distance to all the local restaurants, bars, shops, and wine tasting in the downtown. There's also a rose garden just yards from the property that is really nice, and on the morning of our departure, we caught hot air balloons taking off just yards away down our street which was just lovely to see. Only downsides were the firmness of the bed, as I mentioned, although I imagine that is a selling point for some. Additionally, due to the heat, the air conditioner was cycling rapidly all night which was really loud and somewhat disruptive. That said, I was already not sleeping well due to the firmness of the bed so it was just part of the experience. I also thought that with a name like Lavender, they would have more lavender aspects woven through the property in the rooms, but we didn't experience that anywhere except the outside plants. Other than that, a much nicer experience than the Green Gables from start to finish, with obvious care taken in cleanliness, presentation, and attention to detail- great place for a vacation or staycation!

Yelp
We had to cancel one of our two rooms without prior notice because my parents, who were the occupants of the second room, got into a head on collision on the way to Napa and had to be taken to the hospital. I was really thankful with how understanding and accommodating the staff of Lavender were and that they gave us a full refund on the second room. A big thank you to everyone at hotel Lavender. I look forward to staying here again under better circumstances.

Yelp
We booked in for a night over Labor Day weekend. We were a late check-in and were told our key and info would be left in the late check in box. When we arrived at 10:20 there was no key. They sent someone 20 minutes later (we are waiting outside) only to find they had checked someone else into our room. We were told they would refund our money, sorry! We insisted they find us a room. They first came up with room that was $1100 before taxes and fees which we could stay in for 11 hours and they would not compensate us!!! Finally they found a comparable room in Napa, which they would also not comp us for, which we checked into at 12:30 am. Never in our lives have we been treated with such ill concern. Customer beware, you are nothing more than a credit card, allowed not even minimal expectations of service. We were exhausted and at our wits end!!! As an update to my rating, the hotel helped process our refund with the booking company, called and emailed with an apology and gave us a complimentary stay on a Sunday through Friday.

Yelp
This is a very cute property with nice staff. Unfortunately, our stay was less than stellar. The bed sagged and you could feel the inner workings of the bed while trying to sleep, the fireplace didn't work, the water feature/fountain in the patio did not work, and the bathroom seemed very tired- tiles were chipped and paint scuffed off the vanity in several places. The air conditioner is also set to a minimum of 71 degrees so the room never gets nice and cold during the summer heat. The breakfast was pretty good. They had wine tasting in the evening. The pool and jacuzzi at the sister property are quite a long walk (3 long blocks away) in swimming attire and the pool and jacuzzi are nothing to write home about. We had expected so much more given prior reviews and the expensive price point. Very disappointing stay. The provided a small discount which wasn't really satisfactory- they seemed to acknowledge the issues as if they knew about them for some time but had neglected to fix them. We just wanted a nice stay- which we didn't get.

Yelp
They go above and beyond to provide guests with a memorable, special stay! I would recommend this spot in the quaint, charming town of Yountville!

Yelp
What a lovely little B&B in Yountville! Each room is really private, almost a little cabin each. We stayed in one of the hot tub rooms, which featured a little private courtyard. The hot tub was more of an outside bathtub but it did the job of giving you a relaxing outdoor experience. The room was great with a fireplace and vaulted ceilings. The bathroom was large and had double sinks. The bed was comfy though I would have liked more firm pillows. There was very little sound from neighbors or traffic, the only time I knew we had a neighbor was when the water pipes turned on, but was otherwise very quiet and restful. They offer little homemade cookies, wine, and coffee. Parking was about 8 total spots, with plenty of street parking. Only 1 block from world renowned French Laundry, would recommend it to pair with a reservation there for an easy walk home after that huge meal. Super cute place, we'll be back.

Yelp
I have been trying to book a room here for a while but never could get the dates we wanted. That finally changed. We stayed in room 10 which is the suite and largest room. We did a pre check in via the web so when we got there just had to grab the key head outside and up the stairs. There is a small table and 2 chairs outside on the landing which we took advantage of a few times. The main room upon entering has a gas fireplace, TV, chairs, hide a bed couch, and fridge. The bedroom is nice and large with a window seat and comfy bed. There is a huge spa/tub and a shower you need to read directions for to figure out how to use. Breakfast is included from 8-10. Wine and cheese board is from 4:30-5:30. Not sure if the wine selection changes but the one day we were able to make it they were serving wine from Sterling. Cab, rose, chardonnay, and sauvignon blanc. And let's not forget the chocolate chip cookies. I may have eaten to many of these. Overall an excellent experience and definitely well return.

Yelp
A lovely stay. Lovely staff. Lovely place. Walking distance to everything in town, very quiet. The main house has an antique charm, a few of the bungalows have hot tubs attached.

Yelp
We had such a lovely (too quick!) time at this B&B. The room was perfect and we really enjoyed the spacious bathroom, high quality linens, and private patio. Delicious breakfast, too!

Yelp
Holy cow, where to start with Lavender.... First of all, super cute inn with a prime location in Yountville -- walking distance in either direction to everything. We had the king suite, which was spacious with a gorgeous bathroom. Very romantic for that kind of weekend, private outdoor tub and courtyard, which we loved. Even more so, the staff here is INCREDIBLE. I was planning a super special weekend, called ahead and wanted a number of special arrangements made. Myles and two other gentlemen went out of their way to make it perfect. Took a leap of faith and had a number of things shipped up prior to arrival and asked them to be arranged in the room before we got there: it was PERFECT. Couldn't thank them enough for all of their help. Other places in the Napa Valley can be so pretentious in the way they treat their guests -- the people running the inn are incredibly down to earth, gracious and helpful. Made our weekend extra special.

Yelp
Lavender inn is in prime location (bouchon, wine tasting rooms, r+h all walking distance), with the perfect amenities to make you feel at home. Daily breakfast sent to your room, as well as mid day picnics with wine and cheese- all with social distancing taken into account! We slept so well, and loved enjoying the beautiful grounds throughout the day. The team is lovely and really made this a special trip.

Yelp
COVID visit for two nights. We had a king with outdoor tub/patio which really came in handy with social distancing and such. Virtually touchless check in, super nice front desk. Only thing we had so sign up for was the complimentary breakfast served to the room, with a basic selection of items. Also included is a daily wine and cheese basket with homemade cookies. Loved the patio since is was a nice place to lounge in the afternoon, complete with fully adjustable umbrella, I have admit I did pass out there one afternoon for a longish cat nap, a nice respite from the pandemic rat race and working from home. I totally disconnected and really had a nice break from "this thing we call life" (quoted from his purple badness). Plenty of street and site parking and very close to the Yountville restaurants, which have all adjusted well for social distancing. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I stayed here my birthday weekend with my bestie. I'm glad to have found Lavender Inn. It's so quaint, cozy and perfect for a stay with your significant other also! The location is close to all Yountville fun. Although, they have no pool, they'll allow you to use the pool at their other hotel Maison Fleurie (which is quite small but within walking distance). Our room was so perfect. There was a little patio with fountain. It was great muffling sound when we had BFF talk with our wine. Our room was clean and comfy. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Nice fireplace although no need to use during May. The little fridge was nice to keep our beverages chilled. Laura, the innkeeper, was so nice and friendly as all other staff we encountered. They had a wine tasting with cheese and charcuterie plate at 5 by a local winery which was socially engaging with other guests present in the living room area. Their breakfast is even better. In addition to typical continental breakfast fare, they serve a homemade egg fritata and offer stuff like sausage! For you sweet tooths, there's always some homemade cookies in the lobby under a glass dome. They are delicious too! For an intimate getaway experience, Lavender is it. Bestie and I loved this place. The grounds are lovely, and we enjoyed the sounds of trickling water from the fountain on our patio.

Yelp
Stayed June 15, 2021. Amazing. Courtyard kintg room with private outdoor tub. door. Incredibly friendly and attentive manager Mrs. Kowalak, personally brought a very tasty breakfast to our door, thanks! Met another couple who have returned 20 times. They prefer Lavender to ANY other place in Yountville, and have stayed a Vintners and all the top ones, partly, they said, because of Janet. The Lavender garders were in bloon. The honeysuckle in our courtyard was very fragarant, as is all the lavender. We were on a long trip to Oregon, and this was by far the most wonderful stay. As a note, we walked down the street to Lucy grill at Bardassano resort which is not to miss (crab cakes salad, scallops all under $20). All the restaurants are fully booked week in advance. Lavender is a home run. :)

Yelp
I absolutely loved this inn. Located on a quiet, adorable residential block, the tree lined streets and manicured lawns immediately drew us in. It's all out of a fairty tale...the Napa kind. We found parking easily and directly in front of Lavender throughout our stay. Their prime location is not too shabby either. How can you beat a leisurely stroll to Bouchon bakery in the morning and all of Yountville's fabulous restaurants at night? This was an important highlight for us. (Between you and I) Being so close also meant we could consume as much wine as we wanted at night and then just stroll back to our room. Just perfect. The area is extremely safe so we felt comfortable walking at night. Tucked away behind wooden gates, I entered into our own private oasis. A fountain sprinkled lightly next to a couple of lounge chairs and hot tub. I'm not sure how everything fit into that small terrace but it did so nicely. The room and bathroom size worked perfectly. My only pet peeve was the small size of the closet. I was able to fit very little into it. The cozy room was mostly decorated in a French Country theme and really felt like I was entering someone's home. Everything was extremely clean and in good working condition. There is a switch to turn the water fountain off and what a great idea that was! I did not think I would care to turn it off at all initially but, I was wrong. I am glad someone thought of that detail. I also really enjoyed breakfast served each morning. Offered in the small cafe inside the main house, the dishes were all delightfully home cooked. They kept hot water and coffee out all day long as well as occasional snacks. The reservations were made over the phone. I don't remember her name, but the woman helping me was very sweet and helpful. I will definitively return!

Yelp
This was our first stay at Lavender, we usually stay a bit further out from Yountville but I'm not sure that will ever happen again. I really love the proximity to Washington. Our room was lovely and the evening wine and cheese in addition to the morning breakfast is really sweet. I highly recommend a stay here if you are looking in the Yountville area. I will surely return!

Yelp
Such a lovely little inn! There were about 8 of us that stayed here over a long weekend and had a really pleasant experience. The breakfast every morning is surprisingly good and the staff is friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our AC the first night and it was addressed immediately the next day. The grounds are very well kept, with plenty of space to hang out and park. It's located within a cute neighborhood, walking distance from a ton of stuff. Rooms are a great size with a huge private bathroom in each. We'll definitely be staying here again next time we come to Napa!

Kristin S.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our stay at the Lavender inn. The inn has a wonderful front porch with rose bushes all around. Loved the tranquil sounds of the water fountains all over the property. I slept like a baby every night in the amazing bed. I was in town for a girls weekend in Napa and Janet was so welcoming and made sure we were well taken care of. Each day we got an amazing breakfast delivered to our doors, cheese plates & wine in the afternoon as well as a delicious cookie. I have absolutely no complaints and can't wait to be back.

Yelp
What a cute, cozy inn! My husband and I planned a last minute getaway to Napa and discovered this inn. It's located in the heart of Yountville, within walking distance to some of the most famous restaurants in Napa - French Laundry, Bouchon and Bottega. Lavender was surprisingly a lot nicer than we expected, based upon the pictures we saw on Booking.com. This country inn was beautiful! It's surrounded by a wide variety of flowers. It even has a cute porch swing and rocking chairs in the front. We booked deluxe king room with a spa bath and the room was humongous! Even though our room was located on the first floor of the main house, it was peaceful and quiet. The air conditioning worked perfectly well during the blazing hot summer day. Our bathroom was just as large as our bedroom. We loved the fact that the we had our own private jacuzzi. There's plenty of clean towels, toiletries and robes for you to use. There's even a small refrigerator that you can store your wine in. It's also really nice that they provide bath salts for the jacuzzi. A homemade breakfast is served everyday at 8 AM. Make sure you eat plenty before your day of wine tours. They also serve wine and cheese everyday between 5-6 PM. This was awesome because you definitely need something to snack on after wine tasting all day. Btw, they refill the crackers and cheese often, so don't even worry if you're running late. You can enjoy this inside the inn or outside on the lawn. We loved our stay here! The location was perfect - close to all of the wineries we wanted to visit and the restaurants we wanted to eat at. I woke up early every morning and walked to the infamous Bouchon Bakery. We walked to dinner every night. There's also a small, beautiful rose garden nearby if you love flowers as much as I do. We will definitely be returning here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay! I highly recommend staying at Lavender when you visit Napa. NOTE: They have free bike rentals to explore Yountville.

Yelp
Absolutely the nicest Inn we've ever stayed at with some of the friendliest employees. We adored our stay with Lavender and it has set the bar very high for any of our future visits at other establishments. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with scented flowers and manicured gardens. The hotel is conveniently located near many wineries and it is within walking distance of numerous acclaimed restaurants. The rooms are immaculate and spotless. We've never encountered such a clean establishment. The rooms even smelled crisp and tidy. Not only are the rooms fresh, but they're comfortable. The beds are clouds, the towels are fluffy, and the linens are perfect. All of the amenities in each of the rooms have been updated with modern appliances, however, they still retain the classic, antique ambiance that you expect in a French Inspired Country Inn. Even more importantly, for tall people like me, the rooms are spacious and well-laid out (not cluttered at all). We loved sitting on the porch for our morning coffee, while enjoying our freshly prepared breakfast. We cherished the quiet and relaxing night that we spent in the private whirlpool. It was an amazing place to unwind with a bottle of local wine. We highly recommend Lavender and would love to return if we are fortunate enough to visit the area again.

Yelp
Positives: Very friendly staff, great breakfasts with excellent coffee, nice happy hour and we had a very nice fireplace and jacuzzi on our patio. And Janet is AMAZING! Every inn needs a Janet. She was so sweet and accommodating when we had any issues. Negatives: We stayed in room 7 which was so LOUD. It's next to the front parking spots, kitchen and guest lounge. We were awakened each morning by the couple and their kids above us anywhere from 2-5AM (very thin walls and ceilings) and breakfast set up. Each evening we could hear word-for-word chatter through the walls. Oddly, there were chairs directly in front of our bedroom window for other guests to sit and chat so we had to keep our drapes drawn whenever in the room. End result: no real privacy or quiet times. This room SHOULD NOT be rented to guests. It's just too noisy. In fairness, I'm sure other rooms that are not attached to the main building are much nicer.

Yelp
Stayed here late February and had a wonderful experience. Staff was lovely, breakfast each morning delicious, lots to do and see nearby. Wine and cheese in the evening very nice! All and all a great spot to stay and walking distance to restaurants and tasting rooms. They even have free bikes that you can borrow and ride around town. Highly recommend staying here!

Yelp
Stayed at the lavender four sisters inn for just one night and a quick wine getaway. Originally booked the room for 2, but had a cousin join us and asked to add him to reservation and for a roklaway. Luckily our room was upstairs with a separate sitting area with a pull out sofa bed. $25 to add him on and provide some pillows and blankets was a easy fix! We arrived in the evening when the complimentary happy hour was in full swing. The sitting area by the fire place with some wine and cheese after a nearly 2 hr drive from SFO is just what we needed. It drizzled the following korning, it was nice to have umbrellas handy. The staff us very kind and helpful The breakfast is amaaazing. Bananacreamcheesebread is outta this world!!!! I had to refrain from taking the entire cake! Thankfully the cook gave us thenrecioe, however. It's missing the amount of bananas to add. Guess I need to go back just for the cake! All in all a wonderful stay and just a short walk away from Bouchon and Bottega..... two must do restaurants while in Yountville. Will Def be back for more banana bread and comfy accommodations. Thanks Lavender 4 sisters!!!

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful experience. We stayed in the main house. The host was so nice. Our room was very charming and quaint every little area had something special going on with antique furniture and pictures shelves with books a fireplace and beautiful views of the street. The wine was awesome and In the morning they have a nice selection of food we sat out on the porch and then sat inside the main room. I loved it there it was worth it.

Yelp
We really liked the cozy inn. We stayed in room number 9, tucked away at the top of the stairwell in the main house. The room reminded me of a Parisian flat, small kitchen, tiny bathroom, great natural lighting, cozy bed. Because this room isn't as large as the others, the price is also not as large as the other rooms. The staff is great and friendly - we felt instantly welcome. The toiletries provided are very nice and have a great light fragrance. Towels are soft and there are plenty. Bathrobes are provided, and a keurig is in your room for a hot cup of coffee or tea. Bonus, you overlook the courtyard and can hear the bubbling fountain at night if you crack the windows. In the morning, the smells from the kitchen waft up and wake you from your sweet dreams. Breakfast is great, and if you're still hungry after, you can walk down the street to many little shops and restaurants to supplement.

Yelp
Epitmoy of exceptional customer service!!! Grateful to the team for making my wife's birthday getaway special and helping me fix my reservation . I'm completely grateful and Lavender is and will always be our favorite place to stay in Yountville. I wish I could give it more then 5 stars for customer service and hospitality...

Although I could go on and on about how great the property is...the star for our experience was Ellen. She took care of us the entire time and made the experience magical. She immediately makes you feel welcome and goes above and beyond at every opportunity. She is kind thoughtful and anticipates every need you have. I don't know how she managed to do it all without breaking a sweat. Run don't walk to come to the property and be sure to ask for Ellen!

Yelp
We love it here. We usually stay in room 7, but room 4 was just as nice. Beautiful rooms and amazing service. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Very pleased with stay here. Rooms are well sized and all looked to have private outdoor area. Stayed in room with outdoor jetted tub which was in main house. Thought room may be noisy in the mornings with people in main house eating breakfast but all was quiet and the outdoor tub was very nice. Definitely the best place we've stayed at for the price in Napa valley. Doesn't hurt that their location is perfect for dining in Yountville. Just a stones throw from the French Laundry and a couple blocks from the rest in town. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I have stayed at several Four Sisters properties in the past, including a previous stay at Lavender inn. I have always been pleased, however my April 15 stay was quite a disappointment. Our room, number 6, had several flaws, to include stained bed sheets, a non functioning fireplace, a noisy piece of equipment on the back of the main building that ran periodically throughout the night making it difficult to sleep, and a bathtub drain that leaked continually, making it impossible to soak quietly in the tub. The adjoining garden was also in need of maintenance. During checkout, I brought all of these concerns to the desk attendant. Her reply to each of the concerns was: The housekeeping staff doesn't speak English, so it's hard to get them to check the sheets. The fireplace repairman is coming later today. That noise only bothers some of the guests. There was no apology, nor an offer to reduce the cost of the room. I completed the customer survey several days after my stay, and have yet to hear from anyone. I probably won't stay at one of their properties again, solely because of the apparent lack of concern by management. May 1, 2012 I received a letter from the Executive Assistant offering me a bottle of wine, chocolate truffles, breakfast in bed and a teddy bear on my next visit. I've added a star for this gesture. Should I choose to return to Lavender Inn in the future, I will edit this review again.

Yelp
2.5/5.0 would probably be most accurate. I just came back from a little surprise birthday overnighter for my wife. It was a Travel and Leisure pick for B&B's. So you'd think it was a sure thing. Overall... I thought it was "alright". We even got the "special" room with the jacuzzi... which was a nice thing after the drive up to Napa. But bottom line... overpriced. Bed was "ehhh". Breakfast was average. The rustic styling could have used more luxury amenities for how much we paid. Coffee in the community coffee pot was extremely watered down. But, clean/well manicured garden area. Good balance of modern/rustic styling on the property. But at the end of the day, not really worth it. I'm not a high roller... so unlike the rest of the Napa regulars, $300+ a night is a splurge. But maybe that's just the reality of Napa these days. The -what you get for what you pay- "ratio" is a little skewed. Though I think what we were paying for was being across the street from French Laundry and their awesome garden. If the room had a great bed and a stellar breakfast, that would have covered a multitude of sins. Something you'd think a "bed and breakfast" would at least get right. Looks like we'll try again somewhere else.

Yelp
Halfway through my stay at Lavender and I'm ready to start passing out stars like crazy. Yountville is the definition of idyllic, and Lavender fits in perfectly with its rooms and cottages, gas fireplaces and comfy beds. I was expecting more country French softness (which I'm not a huge fan of), but what we have instead is soothing comfort that really matches the landscape--lots of wood, flowers here and there, and soft colors. Breakfast is fantastic, and the evening snacks are very basic cheese and crackers, with occasional onsite wine tastings. The feeling is communal yet private once you retreat into your own room, but the sense of community comes from the staff. Marion at the front desk is amazing; she's a wealth of info on where to drink, eat, spa, and also importantly what to avoid. Within walking distance are now three Thomas Keller restaurants (French Laundry, Bouchon and Ad Hoc). That means every other restaurant close by its generally off the charts as well. Its a great spot in a great location, romantic and highly recommended!

Yelp
A part of the Four Sisters Inn B&Bs. Very romantic. Very Quiet. Very Clean. A fun and quaint B&B that you must visit while wine tasting, just outside of Napa and close to all wineries. We stayed in room #7. It was a very spacious lower bedroom. The front door led out onto the wrap around porch of the farm style ranch house. We had a large spacious full bathroom too. The kicker to this room however, is the covered deck just off the side of the bathroom that had a private sitting area and private jacuzzi! We were lucky to have a two night stay but would have gladly stayed for longer if we had the time. We accidentally left the wine we had purchased the day before while tasting in our room. We called Lavender on the way home and they had it shipped to us that day, free of charge.

Yelp
As I walked up to this beautiful place I was overwhelmed with a whole bed of fragrant Lavender surrounding the beautiful wrap around porch. Inside, the attendant warmly greeted me and led me to my room. I spent the weekend lounging, reading great books, dining at local restaurants (fantastic!) and driving up the highway wine tasting and even venturing over to Sanoma for more exploration. Coming home at night to Lavender was such a retreat. In the busyness of my LA life, I often fantasize about moving to Yauntville to live in a cottage and live a slower life as an artist. It's truly an enchanting place. I have not forgotten my wonderful stay at Lavender in Yauntville. It was suggested to me casually at a party one night that I stay in Yauntville upon planning to head up to Napa Valley. I was so enchanted by the peaceful space I was given to stay in. It had a patio with a fountain, super comfy bed, large bathroom with a beautiful deep bath tub. They run great weekday specials. I think it's the perfect spot to get away with a loved one for a special retreat.

Yelp
Marion makes the Inn sing - love her stories and personality. Elliot is a helpful guide to the restaurants and the Inn is charming, romantic, with rooms that are large, private gardens and classy. The breakfast is outstanding and a real treat with a different selection everyday!

Yelp
We were lucky enough to win a trip to Napa and chose the Lavendar as our hotel. It exceeded our expectations! The staff made you feel like your mom was there taking care to make everything perfect for you. Breakfast was huge and wonderful and having the little cafe was a nice touch for the romantic atmosphere. We had our own cabin that was huge with it's own patio, water feature, beautifully decorated and stocked with books, videos and brochures from the local wineries and restaurants. Each evening a different winery sent reps for a wine tasting which included evening munchies. It's a little pricey but well worth it for a special stay.

Yelp
My husband and I have stayed at Lavender twice for our anniversary and it is definitely the ideal choice for a Napa Valley Bed & Breakfast. You have a choice to stay in the main house for that real intimate B&B feel, OR you can stay in one of the mini-cottages surrounding the main house. We stayed in the cottages and they are very spacious and have televisions! The bathrooms are very impressive with large bathtubs and very snazzy gray stone flooring. The breakfasts are delicious, and during the entire day there are fresh baked cookies in a cookie jar right by the door. At all hours, they have a well stocked fridge with soda and water as well as hot water for tea, coffee, and cocoa. If you are not staying in the main house, you still get a key to use during the evening hours to access these goodies. There is also wine and cheese in the early evening hours. The service is excellent. They usually take you to your room and show you how to use everything! I told them we were going for our anniversary, so when we got our room, they had balloons and a card wishing us a happy one! :) The hosts also have a very good memory! During our first visit, a lizard ran into our room which freaked out our host. My husband was able to shoo it away with no harm done. So when we came around the next year, the woman totally remember my husband and the lizard. HA! Lastly, Lavender is within walking distance to several restaurants including French Laundry, or for those who have things like mortgages and other bills, there is Bouchon. This is Keller's cheaper, and easier to get into restaurant. :)

Yelp
We've never stayed anywhere else in the Napa Valley- the location is perfect (dump the car after a day of wine tasting and you can walk to drinks and dinner in Yountville), the staff is great, the rooms are nicely decorated, and the included happy hour and breakfast are the icing on the cake. The best part- no 2 night minimum stay on weekends! Perfect for SF people who just want to stay over Saturday. I've lost track of how many times we've stayed here, but I know there will be many more.

Yelp
This was just what my husband and I needed to get away and enjoy his birthday after the long SIP! I found Lavender online after looking for a something in Yountville that is centrally located and affordable. This was the PERFECT location as it is off the busy thoroughfare and away from the road noise yet just steps away from all the places we visited while there including Bouchon Bakery, Bottega, and RH Yountville Wine Vault. The staff at Lavender was so friendly and accommodating! They surprised us with a lovely bottle of wine for my husband's birthday after upgrading us to the spacious, clean, comfortable Loft Suite. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more and would highly recommend you stay here and enjoy this hidden gem.

Yelp
This is a really cute bed and breakfast located perfectly between French Laundry and Bouchon. I found this place on Yelp (where else!?!?) and it was reasonably priced, at least for my parents who were picking up the tab. $305 per night for three people, plus tax/etc. I booked one night while my parents were in town so we wouldn't have to drive back to San Jose and they were flying out of Oakland the following afternoon. My mom almost booked the Marriott in Napa, which wasn't much cheaper. The Marriott!! How terrible. I couldn't let her. There are various separate cottages, but we stayed upstairs in the main house in room 8. I think this was one of the only rooms with a couch bed ,which wasn't terribly comfortable, but passable. The room was nicely decorated with that comfy antique feel, but not so old you feel like it will crumble if you touch it. The gas fireplace is nice and they have free WiFi. Our room had a small rustic TV in a wood cabinet and the bathtub had jets, which I failed to use. Geez, I don't even remember the last time I took a real bath. ;P In the main house, there were lots of drinks available downstairs. Soda, water, coffee, tea, etc. The happy hour was a nice touch, but I was already too hammered from wine tasting to continue drinking. The inn keeper was really nice and made sure we were comfortable had had everything we needed. In our room, there was a handy magazine on wineries, restaurants, etc in the area. The best I've seen yet, with good maps and info. Free, but I wish I asked for another copy because my mom took the one we got. Breakfast in the morning was eggs benedict over home fries. It was kept warm over a hot plate and everything was self serve. Pretty good! There was also various breads, mixed fruit, cereal, juice, etc. They have their own small parking lot and there's also plenty of street parking. Honestly though, just walk down the street to Bouchon Bakery and get yummy croissants before they're sold out for the day! My parents are from Taiwan, not cheap, but they rarely pass up something free and included with our room. It's ok though, because we went to Bouchon Bakery later for lunch and I got my fix. :P

Yelp
Perfect location for a relaxing weekend and visiting the Stag's Leap, Oakville, St. Helena and Rutherford Wineries . I mean, just amazing location. The closest restaurant is The French Laundry. That should tell you something. The staff is friendly - Marion was a personal favorite. The breakfast is good. The afternoon snacks are just ok... don't waste your time on those. Especially if you're planning on a Keller or Chiarello restaurant for that evening. The decor and linens are somewhat outdated, but it's a B&B. Everything is very charming overall. I stayed in Room 5 and would recommend it if you can get it - patio, fireplace and a large bathroom. Tip: You might get a deal or a package (meaning under $250 a night) by staying for more than one night at a time. I was able to score a free bottle of sparkling, chocolate truffles and a $50 gift card to a restaurant in Yountville for staying 2 nights.

Yelp
This was my first venture at a bed and breakfast and overall i enjoyed it. i luckily scored reservations at The French Laundry and booked a room at Lavender purely for its location to the restaurant. It's less than a block away so drink all the wine you want at dinner haha. Since this was winter and low-peak season, i got a really good rate here. Lavender seems set up as a bunch of different cottage style rooms and I stayed in room #8 which is the 2nd floor of the main house. i thought it was kind of weird having to walk through the reception/front desk area and past the staff and guests to get up/down the stairs to our room. also no elevators for the 2nd floor room so pack lightly cuz its a steep staircase haha. our room was super spacious though. king bed room with an entire living room/sitting area and a full size bathroom complete with a jetted tub. it was more than comfortable staying here for the night. the decor is very cottage-y and cozy - not really my favorite but it fit the theme of the place and of the city. what i did love about this bed and breakfast experience was all the included amenities that come with your room rate. first parking is free! they have a small lot for guests but it didn't seem like street parking was hard to find. also free wi-fi and a nightly turndown service if you request it. loved the wine reception in the evening too. the wine is just set out in the little kitchen area for you to pour as much or as little as you want. same goes for breakfast in the morning which is served buffet style. the food is set out for guests to serve themselves and you can choose to eat in the dining room or just take it back to your room. loved that most of this bed and breakfast experience was pretty casual and do it yourself. me and justin b are pretty anti-social so i appreciated the fact that you werent pressured to participate in any activities or mingle with other guests haha. overall not a bad first b&b stay but i do think i much rather enjoy staying in a regular hotel room and having a bit more privacy and modern-ness haha

Yelp
Spent a lovely Sunday evening here on June 17th. What a fabulous B&B in every way. From the greeting and hospitality of Danielle, one of our innkeepers, to enjoying our upstairs Room #8. King size bed with adjoining sitting room with a patio as well as a jetted jacuzzi in our bathroom. Very romantic! They even had birthday balloons for my sweetie's birthday. So wonderful to go downstairs to the breakfast area and listen to French music playing on the stereo. Rosemarie, another innkeeper, was delightful and charming. This property was everything we wanted: romantic, quiet, charming, cozy and inviting. Hated to leave but will definitely go back!

Yelp
Nice place. The lady working there with the british accent was very sweet. Great wine tasting with generous pours. We stayed in room 7 with the jacuzzi tub outside. WAY COOL! Its completely private and covered, so even though it was sprinkling, you could still get use out of it. As for being out dated, yeah, it could be more modern, but the decor fits the feel of the place. It wasn't tacky or cheap or anything. It was comfortable and clean, and thats what really matters to me. Breakfast there was yummy. Hubby got thirds of the eggs they served there. I would have liked it better if the location was walking distance to more places,. I don't know if I would pay full price for this place, but then again, I don't think I'm totally a bed and breakfast kinda girl.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to stay at the last minute this past Saturday night. We called the hotel directly and spoke to Laura. She got us a room and at a great price. Excellent customer service from the moment we arrived to the moment we left (with hugs). Laura made it an amazing experience and the breakfast that she made in the morning was fabulous! You won't find a more pleasing experience in Yountville! Thank you Laura!!!
