This place is very charming, with odd decorations and lovely plants hanging throughout. Very quaint and comfy - I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was confusing walking in as there wasn't clear direction on what to do if I wanted to sit down to eat and no one to greet customers. Service was slow but polite. The food was very good and I would love to come back again to try more. I was very sad that French Toast was not on the menu. I have posted photos of the menu from today. Both meals we had were awesome.

The food here is really well-made, everything was so good. You can tell they really put in the care. Sad that they ran out of the smoked brisket and Charleston waffles. But the stuffed croissant as the replacement was delicious — I really liked the garlicky pesto inside with the bacon and egg.

Beautiful, fun, trendy, cozy, comfy, well decorated little place with excellent coffee, and what looks like an excellent breakfast and nice assortment of pastries. Has bistro seating out front and an outdoor patio off to the side. Most of the staff seemed friendly however... our server was a kid who was very slow and dopey and looked like your stereotypical "doesn't care about anything, zero motivation" teenager often depicted in television. We came in at open and asked our server first before sitting that we had to leave by 8:50 to catch our cruise and asked if that was reasonable expectation for breakfast. He spoke to someone behind the counter and came back and seated us. We ordered right away (as we made up her mind looking at the menu posted out front before we even walked in) and were the first to place an order and the only variation to the meal was over easy instead of poached eggs. At 8:48 the kid came back and said "we can't do your eggs that way", again not looking like he cared or was even awake yet for the day. At 8:50 I cancelled the meal before anything was even out on the grill. He said mine was the first order placed. I can see that only mushrooms were chopped and not yet even cooked. Nothing was yet cooked. We paid for our coffee, which was good, but we never got to try anything else. Lady behind the counter apologized and she seemed sincere but that kid who "served" us just doesn't belong in the service industry.

Google
A really popular spot for brunch, and rightly so. Excellent and beyond-the-norm menu, and they deliver with terrific dishes! Service can be on the slow side but it's staff dependent. My only bug-bear is the online reservation system. I did not get a text confirmation and when I called the voice mail mailbox - no one picked up - was full.

Had Sunday lunch there. Restaurant was very quiet and indeed had this family business vibe. Food was good/OK. Smoked salmon bagel & "The pan" were good. Found omlett to be a bit dry. Staff is indeed not super cheerful and service was a bit slow.

We ordered the French toast and omelette; both were absolutely delicious! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The only small downside was that the food took a bit long to be served, but aside from that, everything was perfect for starting the day!

Google
Had a wonderful lunch experience and the service was fantastic. I had the Farm girl plate being vegetarian which was great. The young staff also made my day. A touch from heaven.

Google
Food was delicious and nicely presented but the portions were teeny tiny! The menu claimed to have 2 vegan dishes, but they “were out”, and not willing too make accommodations AT ALL to make it possible for the vegans in our party to eat. The final comment is regarding cleanliness and facilities. The bathroom was under construction, so only one toilet available and it was disgustingly dirty. The side entrance into the restaurant for those with mobility issues, was not a good first impression, as it was a steep ramp, the entrance door would have to be opened by someone else, and the deck/patio/entrance was also messy and dirty.

Yelp
The place looks very charming and cosy. I thought I order would take a long time since it was around noon but wait time was reasonable. The food is done in the kitchen near the register, assuming by the owners. Service is very friendly and kind and the food was tasty. Overall, it was a great and relaxing experience.

Yelp
If you want to wait an hour and a half with only 2 people in the dining room than this is your place to be frustrated and pissed for overpriced small portion foods

Yelp
This place SUCKS! I went there with my family for brunch and the whole thing is just a mess (not literally) first thing the way you order is so annoying its like McDonald's you have to wait in a line in front of a counter and place your order there but that's not the worst part they still bring you your food but when my family sat down they didn't bring us our food for a hour! And the taste was terrible! It was under salted and Over all just bad I'm mad!

Yelp
Laverne's is a cute cafe restaurant in the town of Ganonoque near the Thousand Islands. I loved the newspaper wallpaper and vintage decor around the seating area. I will say it took a while for the food to be ready, but that's because they suddenly got a flood of customers after us. I had the brisket hash while my friend had the mushroom melt flatbread. The mushroom melt was a tad too sweet for me, but the brisket was really well seasoned!! Solid price, my portion was just a bit small.

Yelp
So my husband & I decided to give this a try based on previous reviews & it being a halfway point of driving for ourselves & family members to meet up. Atmosphere & food was great!! Service even better - fantabulous!!!!! And blueberry scones the absolute best I've ever tasted, well worth the trip from Montreal.

Yelp
My partner and I had a very upsetting experience at this place. The order taker/manager was really gruff when we entered. The place looked charming enough and the food looked pretty good and we were hungry so I thought maybe this was due to the challenge of keeping the line in order and COVID compliant. Long story short. My partner is Black, I am white. The order taker told us we would have to take our orders out to the street as there was no room on their patio. This turned out to be false. Even though the order taker/manager was protected by a glass window that hung in front of him, he complained that my partner's perfume was irritating him so he immediately put on a mask. Respecting the man's discomfort, my partner went out to wait for me on the patio where I brought our coffees and waited for our meals to be delivered. Contrary to what we had been told there was PLENTY of space to eat on the patio and comfortably keep social distance. OK, maybe the manager wasn't aware of the situation. My food arrives in a reasonable amount of time. I figure, my partner's food is not far behind but after 20 minutes and a plate of cold huevos rancheros in front of me, I go back in to ask the manager what's up with our order. He tells me he will check but that I have to leave the order area because its too crowded. So I go back out and wait another 10 minutes. Still no food and my plate is not looking too appetizing. So I ask one of the servers if he can check. At this point, my partner is frustrated and says she just wants to go. So I ask the server for reimbursement as we never got our meal and my food is no inedible. The young man disappears inside. Another 5 minutes or so pass so I go inside to find the manager handing the server some change which turns out to be the $16 or so reimbursement for my partners dish. At this point, I'm a tad annoyed so I tell the guy, my breakfast is cold from waiting and I would like to be reimbursed for the entire order (added note, you tip ahead of time at this place when you place your order and I had tipped 20%). The guy tells me I will have to wait for him to complete taking another order. So I tell him that we've already waited a half an hour but if I have to wait, maybe I'll just tell all the folks in line how we were treated. He scrambles to give me the rest of my cash (btw I paid with a card). Now I honestly can't say if this guy is truly racist but he sure was negative to us all the way through. Maybe he was really irritated by my partner's perfume, maybe he truly didn't know there was room on the patio, maybe they just messed up and forgot our order but in addition to all that he was gruff, rude and hostile. Whatever the case, Black people and mixed couples should be wary of this place, in my opinion.

Yelp
I am really disappointed at our visit to Lavern's this morning. We stood there for 10 minutes without one server making eye contact with us. We decided to take a seat at the bar because it was quite busy! We asked for coffee, the server didn't give us milk, cream or sugar we had to ask a different server for it. The coffee was so strong it was undrinkable, and I'm a daily black coffee drinker. The food presentation was sloppy, again had to ask for salt and pepper. Our server didn't do a quality check, instead stood behind the bar on her phone as if we didn't exist. I hope others have a better experience than we did.

Yelp
I thought the food was phenomenal. The Thai chicken salad was really flavorful and the perfect portion size. Ribs were a bit fatty but the bbq sauce is delicious. The Peruvian potato salad had a nice kick. The only reason for not 5 Stars was the service. Very slow even thought there were only two tables and two waitresses. We had to wait with food on the table to get our cutlery. Very frustrating! Otherwise, highly recommend.

Yelp
Awesome coffee! I'm a coffee snob. I live between two coffee roasters and have been spoiled. I have a problem, I know. This coffee was excellent. It is a hidden gem. If you love/need great coffee and are in Gananoque - go here now!

Yelp
Love the homemade amazing food, their Late is one of a kind! Great staff and venue to kick off your day!

Yelp
This place is great. We have eaten here three times while staying in the area. The staff is great despite the need for more help. Friendly, funky, and fun. Great food!

Yelp
Wow! Vacationing in Gananoque and came across this little piece of heaven. I ordered the huevos rancheros and the hubby got the sourdough (#4 on menu, with chutney) .... we were equally impressed with the flavors. The chutney is in house-made and you can tell! The customer service was also memorable in the best way -- and the countertop design (large books at the base and wood as the top) absolutely original. If we return to this area ever again, will most certainly stopover.

Yelp
Laverne is open for business and we couldn't be happier! I am celiac and they took great care to ensure I could eat my food with no issues. The bowl was fresh and flavourful. Excellent service. 100% recommend!

Yelp
THE coffee spot to hit up in Gananoque. I ordered the "speciality latte" which essentially meant a latte with syrup - you can choose almond, hazelnut, vanilla, and coconut. I chose the coconut latte which was delicious! It wasn't super sweet but had enough coconut flavour, it was a great pick me up.

Yelp
Hands down best place to eat in Gan! Shout out to Ray & Zach for always hooking it up with the best club sandwiches ever! If you are ever near Gan it's worth the trip, I promise you

Yelp
The service at this restaurant was terrible. It was extremely slow, without any up date as to why. Once they finally told us our food was "almost ready" it took another 20 minutes to arrive. When the food came out, it was over seasoned and had a hair in the Cali Club sandwich. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
We loved this place so much, we came back two days in a row! We only stopped in for breakfast so I can't comment on the lunch or dinner offerings. I had the huevos rancheros "flatbread" which was, in fact, a flatbread. I was surprised but not disappointed to find that it really was like a huevos pizza. My husband had the whipped ricotta with honey and orange zest with toast points. To our surprise, the whipped ricotta was the runaway favorite part of our meal. The coffee was also delicious. I was also a fan of the decor - the old magazine covered walls were distractingly interesting to try and read and the bar o'books was pretty nifty. The second morning we only stopped for coffee but the lattes were tasty and potent and had us powered back across the border for our long drive home.

Yelp
I love everything about Lavern's! The food, the coffee and the decor! I can't count how many times I have eaten here... but I have loved it every time. The coffee is my addiction!!!

Yelp
Nice place with a great patio but the food is awful. I got a thai chicken burger. The quality of the chicken was subpar and it was burnt. The mango chutney was bland because the mango wasn't ripe and hence tasteless and rock hard. It was served with a side of potato chips; unfortunately I got the bottom of the bag, which consisted of mostly crumbs. To top it off the service was bad. I waited 15 minutes to get a menu and once I got my food came they never bothered to check back to see how it was. Had they checked I would have sent my food back. Lot of good places to eat in Gananoque this isn't one of them.

Yelp
Food is fresh, delicious and incredibly well served. Staff is great, coffee is amazing and the decor is phenomenal.

Yelp
Cool Design but very unfriendly staff. The coffee was expensive and cold. No recommendation.
