12 Best Places for Shopping in Madrid | Condé Nast Traveler

"Wine lovers unite at this two-story vino emporium in Barrio Salamanca, regarded by local somms and wine pros as one of the best wine shops in the country. That albariño you fell in love with at dinner last night? They've got it. The cava you could've sworn was fine Champagne and can't stop thinking about? In the back left corner. More than just a place to buy a bottle or two, Lavinia also runs a market-driven tapas restaurant that punches well above its weight. If you can splash out, grab a bottle of Aro by Bodegas Muga, a lusty Graciano-Tempranillo blend by one of Rioja Alta's most renowned wineries. It's made with hand-picked grapes from 60-year-old vines and matured in new French oak." - Benjamin Kemper

I had my first wine tasting event here and I did learn a lot! We were served five different glasses and it was overall an experience. I just wish that they arranged the seats with enough distance to allow the waiters to pass though without difficulties. It didn’t help that during winter people are with their coats, so I guess a coat rack or something to hang on people’s stuff would be helpful. Their bodega offers a lot of wine and is a haven for wine connoisseurs (which I’m not 😅).

Best customer service I have witnessed in Spain. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, professional and friendly. Incredible wine selection and great tasting bar. The quality gets better after every visit.

Google
Very nice wine store with a broad selection of Spanish wines. They have a cellar with some very interesting finds too - a vertical of 1960's vega sicilia Unico, and many large format options. They also have a wine bar upstairs with 20-30 btg options at retail cost for the pour, so you can try many of the current releases, along with a small food menu. Very helpful staff.

Visited in June. We were walking by were blown away with the walls of wine and were delighted to see a bar. We both enjoyed a lovely glass of white wine with a cheese board. The waitress was extremely patient and helpful.

The sales people speak English and are very helpful. One of their first questions was how much I wanted to spend per bottle. They were able to recommend wines and liquor from the regions we visited. They have a tasting area upstairs so you can sample from a small selection of wines. I was happy with the wines they suggested and enjoyed conversing with the staff.

Google
I first learned of this place searching for a good online wine shop. Their selection is slightly more geared towards higher end wines, but is excellently curated as most chain grocery stores don’t carry most of these wines, even the ones in the 10euro range. Their website is pretty poorly designed but they have occasional 10% and 20% off online sales with free shipping when you spend 60 euros. You have to be a member to take advantage of the sales but membership only costs 10 euros for a 2 year period. They had machines where you could pay for wine samples in store, but I never tried them, perhaps next visit. The store is very impressive, but doesn’t seem very inviting to explore, although they will help you when you ask for help, they don’t approach you or invite you to sample when walking around the store.

Google
We loved this wine store, you can sit at the bar and try all of the wines, the bar tenders are SO helpful and you can try lots of different to decide what you like. The prices are very reasonable for great wines and they have a large selection to purchase downstairs, they also provide worldwide shipping. Fab place

Yelp
Yelp offer DID NOT work, just a heads up. They didn't even recognize it, confirmed by 2 employees at the front desk. The wine we did try was very good. But the croquettes did not taste good at all.

Yelp
If you are looking for the right wine, champagne, gyn, etc. for the perfect occasion; you've come to the right place. In 'Lavinia' you'll find not only the perfect bottle of wine, but also an amazing customer service. Due to the current lack of specialised and/or kind (polite) customer service in a lot of establishments, finding employees who are well-trained and seem passionate about their jobs, is something that you will notice once you get into the establishment. As you all know, 'wine-pairing' (knowing how to pair the right wine with the right dish) is a science which, if you don't know anything about, don't worry because the staff of Lavinia will gladly advise you.

Yelp
The place to come if you are looking to buy wine in Madrid. There is also a tasting counter and good resto upstairs where you can take your purchase sans a corkage fee. There is also a tasting counter where you can sample a number of whites and reds. Staff are fairly helpful.

Yelp
This place is like a department store that only sells wine and fine spirits. It has an epic selection of well-chosen Spanish and French wines. They have a room in the back you have to get special permission to enter that has one of the best collections of rare Riojas and Riberas I have seen at a retail establishment. I don't recommend shopping here if you are looking for something low to mid-range as you can probably find it cheaper at a place like Carrefour or El Corte Inglés. Do come here if you want to splurge on something special.
