We stayed at this hotel and had a generally positive experience, though it was marred by some unexpected noise. There was a special event in the area during our stay, which caused loud music at times. While this was beyond the hotel’s control, it would have been helpful if they had informed us in advance, given that we had booked months prior. Despite this issue, the staff went out of their way to make things better. The ladies at the reception were incredibly polite, respectful, and genuinely helpful, doing everything they could to ensure we were comfortable. Their service was excellent and made the situation much easier to deal with. The hotel’s location is absolutely perfect, with stunning views, clean rooms, and a private rooftop overlooking the ocean—definitely a highlight of our trip. However, the experience was somewhat soured by the manager’s attitude. He was dismissive, rude, and unhelpful, which was disappointing given the otherwise fantastic staff. Overall, this hotel has a lot to offer with its ideal location and great facilities. The noise during our stay was an isolated event, so it’s worth considering, especially if management improves their communication and customer service.

Really can't fault this hotel. It is directly in front of the beach, our 1st floor room is a duplex with a spacious roof terrace covered in artificial grass. It has a large balcony on the main floor, very spacious and a very comfortable bed. The staff and service have been excellent so far and it's perfectly located just a few minutes walk from the main street and the main beach front bars. It's quiet and tranquil despite being so central.

The positive reviews for this place are puzzling. It doesn’t live up to the images online. While the staff is friendly and the rooms are spacious, they are outdated and overly dark. The location, right on the boardwalk, lacks privacy, and staying in a pool access room was particularly uncomfortable as it felt like everyone—including hotel staff—was peering inside. The most unpleasant aspect was a persistent sewage smell in the room, which lingered for two nights. The property lacks meaningful amenities, with no gym or pool worth mentioning. Breakfast was both expensive and of very poor quality. While the hotel is technically beachfront, it’s a significant walk to find a part of the beach suitable for relaxation or swimming. The focus on upselling extras feels excessive, and the practice of housekeeping inspecting the room after checkout to ensure nothing was taken is unusual and unwelcoming. The overall atmosphere in Kamala was crowded, noisy, and overly touristy, with little appeal. This property is not recommended—there are better options available in this price range.

We had the suite which was nice and spacious but wasn’t as stunning as the pictures suggested. Fantastic view from the balcony and comfy bed, clean sheets and towels every day and spotlessly clean. Staff sooo lovely with a special mention for the trainee (don’t know her name) who was so lovely and helpful. Highly recommend as a good value 4 star hotel in great location with lovely staff.

Layalina Hotel has the best location you can imagine, just steps from the beach and from a walking path that takes you past tons of beachfront restaurants and places to have a drink. Besides the perfect location, the hotel is an intimate size, the staff are highly professional and welcoming and the rooms are very large and comfortable. Plus, nothing beats swinging in your own hammock on your patio before taking a bath in your enormous, luxurious jacuzzi bathtub! I was in room 106 downstairs, which was perfect, with a private patio. Three of the downstairs rooms have patios in the public area by the swimming pool, and three are more private like mine. I could see beachgoers walking by my patio, but their view was obscured by greenery, and no one ever looked in my direction.

I recently stayed here for one night. There is another review on here which talks about how puzzling the positive reviews are, as they experienced a lack of privacy from staff, smelly room also that it was a dark and out dated room. All true, We must of had the same room, as I complained of a terrible smell come ng from my room also. I turned off the aircon and opened up the doors and it went away. But as soon as I turned the AC back on the room smelt like a porta potty and o felt ill from the stench. Room 4 I informed staff so hopefully this gets sorted out. Staff were very on guard and were kinda nosey too. I would get a room upstairs not pool side if you want privacy. I thought it was super cute and was accurately depicted in the photos. Book through the hotel not booking.com as you will get a better rate.

This is truly a hidden Gem in kamala beach. Rooms are well equipped and very clean. Me and my wife stayed in a room with sun deck enjoyed each moment staying here. You will find lots of option to eat and drink with in 2 min walking distance. There is a 7/11 just opposit to it. A True 5*
