33 Best Restaurants in Toronto, From Québécois to Sushi | Condé Nast Traveler

"This haute Lebanese spot offers a refreshing take on the classic power lunch. Toronto’s Financial District isn’t necessarily known as a bustling hot spot for anything other than over-priced restaurants catering to the expense-account set, but this elegant dining room offers up fresh, flavorful, and refined Mediterranean fare. The mohamarah (a stunning dip of fire-roasted red peppers, Aleppo pepper, and walnut) comes with a warm, pillowy pile of house made pita; robust mains are no less impressive, including the aromatic and hugely flavorful tenderloin of beef served with hummus and a succulent pomegranate glaze. There are also some great vegetarian options on offer, like warm halloumi cheese rolls and a stunning cauliflower tajin. The cherry on top? A wine list that emphasizes Lebanese varietals—solidifying this spot as a compelling reason to venture downtown for something new." - Todd Plummer

We had such an amazing night! The atmosphere was beautiful, clean, and cozy, everything felt just right. Our waiter, Mayuk, was absolutely wonderful. He was so friendly and really made our night special. He surprised us with a cake for my mom’s birthday, which was such a sweet and thoughtful touch. He kept checking on our table and made sure we had everything we needed. You can tell they really care about their guests and pay attention to every detail. We’ll definitely be coming back!

My first visit to Laylak. Parking was super easy. The restaurant from the exterior is very cute, definitely a good backdrop for a quick pic. Interior is stunning. Every detail of the decor comes together to create a beautiful theme throughout the bar lounge area and flows thru into the dining room. The staff and manager Hovsep were top notch. Hospitality at its finest. As fantastic as the first impression is, the food is the star of the show here. Some of the best Lebanese cuisine in town. So many choices on the menu that you’ll need to visit a few times to enjoy them all. My suggestions would be tenderloin hummus, meat platter, seasoned potato wedges. The complexity of flavours and textures in their Dubai Chocoalte desert cake is brilliant. Meant to share, but you’re probably better off if you don’t

Absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the food was fantastic. great quality, beautiful presentation, and full of flavor. What really made the experience stand out was the service. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, checked in a few times to make sure everything was perfect, kept our waters topped up, and even replaced our plates with fresh ones. You truly feel taken care of here. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back!

We had an amazing experience at Laylak Lebanese Cuisine Toronto! The ambiance was beautiful and inviting — perfect for a cozy evening out. We ordered the mixed grill platter, which was absolutely delicious, and the appetizers were just as flavorful. Sena took great care of us — she was warm, attentive, and made the experience even better. I’d give her a full 5 stars for her excellent service! Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves authentic Lebanese food and a lovely atmosphere. 🌿✨

Had a fantastic experience at this great restaurant. The interior is beautiful with great decor and comfortable seating. Our server Piero was absolutely fantastic. Very knowledgeable, gave great recommendations, and provided prompt service. I would give the food 4.5 stars if I could, everything we ordered was delicious, bar one dish. The grilled meats and kebabs were fantastic, super flavorful, tender and juicy. The cauliflower starter was also delicious. We also had some delicious cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, equally great. The Beirut Rose is my recommendation. The only let down was my vegetarian friend ordereded the Falafel, and it was veeeery dry. Admittedly it was the first main to come out, but our other mains were only a short wait, not unreasonable at all amount of time, and we waited until all mains arrived to begin eating together, as many people do. Perhaps this is just a short table life dish and needs to be eaten quickly, in that case maybe it should be brought out last. This was the only let down of the experience so I would thoroughly recommend Laylak, bar the Falafel 😅

Laylak is a very upscale Lebanese restaurant in Toronto — elegant, refined, and a great spot if you’re looking for a more elevated dining experience. We ordered a variety of dishes, and while everything was solid, the appetizers were the real standouts. The kibbeh was perfectly crisp and flavorful, the hummus with beef was outstanding — the beef was so tender it melted in your mouth — and honestly, I’d recommend just ordering a spread of appetizers to share because they were phenomenal across the board. The desserts were also a highlight: warm, crispy, and kissed with rose water, making them both indulgent and memorable. Easily the best way to end the meal. The mains were good, but for me, the appetizers and desserts carried the experience and are what I’d come back for. Service was okay, nothing bad but not as polished as you’d expect for such an upscale space. Prices are on the higher side, but you’re paying for the quality, execution, and presentation. Overall, Laylak is a spot I’d recommend if you want to enjoy upscale Lebanese dining in Toronto. Stick to the appetizers, don’t skip dessert, and you’ll leave very happy.

A very modern, upscale and traditional Lebanese restaurant. The food was amazing and well presented. We tried Hummus, Falafel and Cheese Rolls. Hummus comes along with 3 Pita breads and it tasted superb. Falafel and Cheese Rolls were also great. Large portion sizes. The ambiance of the place was great overall along with quick service. A must try place in DT.

Beautiful space, beautiful food, and amazing service! Could not recommend enough, we will definitely be back. Our waitress Mahsa was incredible, and the manager (I believe his name is Benson) was amazing too! We are vegan and there were so many phenomenal options, enjoyed everything. So excited by the food forgot to take a photo!
