We stopped by to donate a few items and a woman showed up at the same time seeking help. The lazarus employee turned her away saying she was too late and would have to wait even longer since it is a holiday weekend. The woman ultimately had to leave and cried. We were very disappointed to see someone who needed help be turned away by a homeless shelter.

Sometimes life happens. Thank God for people and places like the Lazarus House. A gift from God until you can get back on your feet. The staff and volunteers are nothing but saints. Thank you.

I moved to Lazarus house 3 weeks ago and I am very blessed. I was sleeping in my car prior to this and it was very difficult not only sleeping, but a person goes into survival mode when they are on the street. The staff is kind and caring and look for the needs of those that are homeless. Thank you to all the warm and kind people in the community that give donations to the Lazarus house. This Does Not go unnoticed. THANK YOU!

I came to the Lazarus house in need of a little help getting back home to Texas. A staff I assume by the name katie helped me by getting Me to where I needed to go. Didn’t let me leave without a bag of food. Very good person there that helped me out.

I sadly had a bad experience in my departure at Lazarus. There were 3 workers there who were very kind. They were helpful at first but it’s not a place that can help treat mental illness. The way some of the women there, specifically the younger women’s counselor treats people was without empathy. The other women there had empathy.

I was looking for shelter since 7/15 and was denied because I did not work in the area or was a previous resident, Dupagepads County also did me the same way, something needs to change because it's a lot of homeless people out here. Homeless people should be able to receive shelter even if he or she are not a resident or work near the area

The staff here are all impeccable and extremely kind and caring. We always have good food and a comfortable bed to sleep in and nice showers. Christian is great and so is Julie and they check up on you constantly. Sam is very nice as well. I can’t say enough good things about this place. - Ryan Whittington

It's a racket. They can put you on "house arrest "....meaning you cannot even open front door to put trash in a can. Had a therapist say the "people we "treat"...more money
