Delicious food, quaint setting. While it is pricey, the appetizers and dishes are worth their price. We had the Fish Crudo, Eggplant fries and a delectable salad. The mains were the seafood pasta and that was a joy to the taste buds and the visual buds, long rolls of squiggly pasta. Apart from that was the meatball pasta, hearty and filling. The third wntree was the gnocchi which was cooked and flavored to perfection. Service was good although a tad bit slow and have some reluctance to switch out dishes and silverware between the apps and the mains.

Incredible food, and great hospitality -- Bruno was wonderful. We were a party of 7 tucked in a comfortable room to enjoy our birthday festivities. We all chose different apps and entrées to do a family style tasting. It is rare to LOVE everything on the menu, but it happened at Lazia. Thank you Lazia for a wonderful night!

Lazia delivered one of the best meals we’ve had in Kansas City. The atmosphere is warm and upscale without feeling stuffy. Every dish was flavorful and perfectly executed, and the service team was attentive and knowledgeable. The pasta dishes were standouts, and the cocktail menu was excellent. Great spot for a date night or a special dinner.

My colleague and I were in town for a business meeting, and since I’d stayed at the hotel last year and had an awesome experience, I figured I’d repeat the whole routine—dinner included. We showed up around 7:45 pm, and the place was absolutely buzzing. Even without a reservation, we lucked out and grabbed two seats at the bar right away. Erica, our server, was fantastic and nailed every food and drink recommendation she gave us. Boulevard Wheat (can): A great local beer—golden, light, refreshing. Totally my kind of drink and the perfect way to kick off the meal. Grilled Octopus: This dish came with pork belly, grilled potatoes, parsley, and a layer of hot sauce underneath. The pork belly was spot-on: crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside. The octopus was perfectly seasoned, super tender, and practically melted in my mouth. The hot sauce had just the right amount of heat and tied all the flavors together beautifully. Phenomenal dish! Mafaldine Alla Vodka: Named after a Portuguese princess for its “hair-like” shape, this pasta had amazing texture—bouncy, chewy, and fun to eat. The broken meatballs were juicy and savory, adding depth to the dish. The chili sauce, basil, and Parmesan brought everything together, creating a rich, flavorful bite every time. Lots of components, but they all worked in perfect harmony. Loved it. Overall, we had a great dinner and can’t thank Erica enough for the awesome recommendations and top-notch service. I’ve pinned this restaurant on my map and will definitely be back to try more next time I’m in town.

We enjoyed our dinner here this evening. Maya was our main server and she was great as well as the additional team of servers that presented all of our dishes. Each dish had a unique and had several levels of flavors that elevated the experience. We started with the focaccia bread that came with a basil/balsamic compound butter which was fantastic, then the Beet Insalata. My wife never eats beets, but she decided to give this salad a try and loved it. The chicken parm can definitely feed 3-4 people well. The Serpente not only looked like an art piece, but the flavor was amazing. The Creste Di Gallo is very rich and enjoyable. We ended with the strawberry/rhubarb tiramisu. Looking forward to a return visit to try the other dishes. The food, service and atmosphere of this place was definitely worth what we paid.

Incredible Italian food with fresh, flavorful dishes like ravioli and lasagna. The cozy, elegant atmosphere pairs perfectly with attentive, friendly service. A must-visit spot in Kansas City for a memorable dining experience!

This is my husband and I’s favorite restaurant!!!! We were initially nervous because it’s attached to a hotel, but they have it blocked off to where you don’t even notice once you’re in the restaurant that it’s all connected. We made reservations and got there early to enjoy some drinks at the bar, and then we went into the restaurant when it was time. We also stayed at the hotel one evening, which was a great experience as well. The food is so so delicious, the service is top-notch and the atmosphere is wonderful. It’s relaxing, romantic and unique. We love going here for special date nights and will continue to go back for years to come.

I took my family from out of town to lazia a couple months ago and I was so excited since lazia has been been on my favorite restaurants in Kansas City, but under new ownership I don’t know if we will be going back. One of my FAVORITE dishes on the menu was the table side mozzarella and under new ownership that has been taken off the menu. We were absolutely heartbroken because we were all looking forward to it. The rest of meal was underwhelming compared to what our experience typically is. There were still some great dishes, but I think the biggest disappointment was the pork shoulder which ended up being way too much cheese and way too salty. The service was absolutely amazing, I cannot remember our server but even the staff are upset about the mozzarella being gone and encouraging us to write reviews about it and mention it. I personally don’t think I will be coming back until some changes are made or the new ownership brings back the mozzarella. I even commented on a tiktok about how it’s gone and I can see that how much other people are upset about it too.

Yelp
I've been here a few times. Service is always stellar, food is delicious! One of my favorite Italian spots in KC! Every dish is so so flavorful with generous serving portions. The restaurant is beautiful. We got the crudo, lobster radiatore, and the pappardelle. Our food came out piping hot which I love! I've seen some reviews online of the food coming out lukewarm or cold and on a previous experience about a year ago our food was on the colder side. We came in on a Monday when it wasn't very busy but I'd like to think that they have improved in serving their food hot!

Yelp
Lazia is such a great date night spot in KC! Or a girl dinner for an Italian Meal Share evening. Always start with a bottle of wine, if that's your jam. The portions were quite generous and perfect for sharing. I do wish "family style" restaurants would offer half portions for parties of 1-2 so you could try more options and not get stuck with chosing only 2-3 things. Regardless, the staff that brought out each course explained the ingredients that got us excited to dive in. Quite a lovely spot with seasonal rotating menus!

Yelp
It's taken me a while to write this because I was so disappointed. I was initially so excited to go here with our friends and the menu looked so delicious. It was very overpriced for the portions you received. Some of the items we ordered we thought would be hot but were lukewarm. We also noticed that our table was visited less frequently than the ones around us. It seemed that if you order a bottle of wine, you'll get more attentive service. Our server took our order and then checked back in with us once. We met all the other staff though because a different person dropped off almost every plate. The place itself was very stunning and it looks like a place that should serve amazing food. It was a bit loud though even though there aren't a lot of tables in the room.

Yelp
When I visit another city, I usually research and check out new places to eat. However, I have a friend who is a foodie content creator in KC so I reached out to him instead to meet up and also recommend a restaurant. One of the spots he suggested was Lazia so I made reservations right away. The food and the vibe....t did not disappoint! The restaurant is located inside the Crossroads Hotel. We had a bit of difficulty finding the entrance, but to get to the restaurant, you need to go inside the hotel. Don't let the doors outside of Lazia mislead you. Everything we ordered was delicious! I had the Wagyu Carpaccio and their Capellini. The Wagyu was flavorful, and the crisp fried chips complemented well with it. I knew I had to order the Capellini as soon as I found out it was made with squid ink pasta. After trying all of my friends' pasta dishes, I'm going to have to say that the Capellini and the Doppio Ravioli were the two best pastas on the table. Great vibe and atmosphere! The service was good! WE waited about 50 minutes for our main dishes, but the server made sure to check on us and apologized for the delay. I didn't get a drink, but they were kind to comp drinks from the bill for the wait. Street parking can be challenging on busy days so I would come earlier to find parking if planned.

Yelp
We arrived on time for our 6:15 reservation and we were seated about five minutes later after being given a complementary apéritif. Lazia has a very impressive interior! The tables are far enough apart that everything is nice. This gives it a sense of intimacy and you don't have to listen to what the people next to you are saying. I love the layout and decor of this place. The star of our evening was our server, Debbie! She was a delight from start to finish. She never rushed us. She couldn't have been more lovely. We started out with focaccia bread. It had this kind of onion jam which was delicious. My wife didn't care for it, but I loved it. And next, we ordered the salad with spring vegetables and guacamole and burrata cheese. It was kind of weird, mushy and spicy. Neither of us loved it. The next thing that came out was the squid ink pasta. The flavors were great! But the dish was lukewarm at best. I wish it would've been hot. It was spicy. Next, we had the vodka pasta and all of the same comments apply. Great flavors, spicy, not hot. By this time, I was irritated and decided not to eat it but rather box it up and take it home where I could heat it up. The wine selection here was lovely and we very much enjoyed Debbie's company and the information she gave us. Our dining companions had the lasagna which was also weirdly spicy. They also had the pork shoulder, which was good, but they said it wasn't as good as the fall version. For dessert, my wife and I had the mint chocolate mousse cake and our friends had the strawberry rhubarb tiramisu. Both were delicious. Lazia was hit and miss for us. It has the potential to be excellent, but tonight it wasn't. Almost everything we ordered was either too spicy or too salty, which kind of has me wondering if the chef is a smoker. It happens. I like spicy food, but both my wife and one of our dining companions found several of the dishes to be too spicy to really enjoy, which is kind of crazy at an Italian restaurant. I wish them the best.

Yelp
Had an amazing experience at this restaurant. Really great vibes for a date night or for a big family dinner. It is located in a boutique hotel and has Valet option available. The recommendations for food were amazing! Our server as well as the host created a wonderful experience!! We got the stuffed focaccia, the tuna crudo, the vegetables and the chicken parm. Really big portions and everything was shareable!

Yelp
Visited Lazia for a date night on Friday. While we had reservations, to our surprise, it wasn't too busy. This restaurant is beautiful and the seatings are well spaced. It was perfect for our date night, but also a great place to meet up with friends or a special occasion dinner. All our drinks (cocktail + red & sparkling wine) were delightful. Onto the appetizers, we opt'ed in for scallop crudo and panzanella. For both dishes, the lemon hugely overpowered all other ingredients. My partner liked the scallop crudo more than I did, but I thought it was too acidic of a dish for me. The panzanella was tasty, just wished for more greens. Onto the pastas, I rave about the Serpente. It came with a show, the dish was beautifully assembled right in front of us. All the flavors paired well with one another and the dish itself was not very fishy. My partner ordered the Mafaldine alla vodka which he noted was spicier than expected but good. The portion was much bigger than mine so we recommend ordering with a bigger appetite. The service was good. Overall we had a great night. It was a pretty good experience for the price. I wished we had ordered different appetizers to make this experience closer to a 5/5.

Yelp
From the walk up, I knew this would be a wonderful dining experience. The crossroads hotel is a beautiful hotel and while waiting, we were able to take in an art show in the foyer by the bar. We were brought complimentary aperitifs before being escorted to our table. The restaurant is a little small, so you'll need a reservation. Our friends told us that it's in an old bank so a couple of the bigger tables were in renovated safe deposit rooms. The table was very comfortable with plush seating and gorgeous table and glass wear. The decor was posh, I loved the wine wall and the chandelier above the dish station. Onto the food! We started with cocktails. I don't usually get aperol spritz, but couldn't pass up the persimmon and saffron in a spritz! It was delightful, somewhere between sweet and bitter just as a spritz should be. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, the espressotini was to my liking without cream, and I liked the addition of Grand Marnier. Our server recommended doing family style and ordering several dishes to share, which we did. We wouldn't order the asparagus again, but it was tasty. The presentation of everything was next level!! We all liked the grilled octopus the best. We got a few pasta dishes to share, my favorite was the semi-spicy and honey-forward mafaldine alla vodka but the serpente stole the show! The server said it was "dinner and a show" which was totally correct. It was a gorgeous presentation of the fennel cream sauce with smoked trout roe. We got the chicken Parmesan as a main, but we all agreed the best part of it was the chicory Caesar salad. The dish itself was tasty, but as all chicken parm's tend to be, got soggy and it's just got a good eating experience. The salad though, oh my word I could eat a full one of those. I was so hopeful I'd have room for dessert, but we were stuffed to the brim! It initially felt like one of those fancy restaurants where you know you'll pay a lot to leave hungry, but the food caught up with us in the end! A delightful experience overall that I'd recommend anyone who's able to enjoy too.

Yelp
My fav part of this meal was either the Doppio Raviolo or the raspberry tiramisu. This place has a great ambiance & a great choice for date night! We had the tuscany sangiovese with dinner (slightly chilled) & it was perfect. The seasonal primi pasta dishes were very yummy! The mussels were also very unique with a tomatoe-y sauce and crispy bread. Will be back to try more dishes.

Yelp
Took my 2 friends who had never been to KC here one night- we loved everything! The wagyu carpaccio was outstanding, and we also loved the panzanella salad. For pasta courses, we all shared the radiatore, ricotta gnocchi and mafaldine alla vodka... All 3 were SUPERB. Our server was Haley, who is just the absolute best, we all adore her.

Yelp
My friends from out of town who also had friends from out of the country visiting and asked for a recommendation so the pressure was real! I started lazia bc I had heard amazing things and I really wanted to go myself . The entrance is inside crossroads hotel. The space is immaculate. Go past the bar to the left by the big pizza oven and you will see a exterior restaurant bar with staff. We definitely made reservations and started off with an amaro while we waited. We were seated at a large table for our group but the space is intimate with a large chandelier in the center of the restaurant. The service and staff were very professional. We ordered drinks, apps, and an entrees. My drink (carta aero) was smaller than I anticipated but nicely balanced. Not super sweet and subtle tart. and wow, I have no regrets. Everything was delicious so honestly could order anything and feel confident it would be good. I will say some entrees were a bit salty (for those a bit sensitive to salty foods) but very flavorful. Good nuances of different flavors in each bite. The serpente is a dinner and show so if you're looking for an elevated experience, order that. The pasta took a little bit of time so they recognized that, apologized, and comped our drinks which was very thoughtful. I will definitely be back for their professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness along with fantastic food.

Yelp
I love Lazia for a treat-yourself dinner with friends! If you're looking for fancy, modern Italian fare and delectable drinks in a chic, low-lit restaurant, this is your place. First, you're greeted with a shot of the house-made amaro at the host stand. What else do I need to say? You're starting the evening off great. I highly recommend a reservation because it always seems to be full when I go. Lazia is located on the corner of Central and 21st inside the hotel, so when you enter the hotel on Central, you walk all the past the lobby and XR bar to get to the host stand. Next, you're escorted through a velvet curtain into the low-lit beautiful space. Theres a whole wall of wine bottles and historical details, like a big safe door and adorable tile flooring. You can't go wrong with any of the food or drink options. Hand-pulled mozzarella served table side! Life-changing perfect arancini! Beautiful house made pasta! It's an expensive meal, but it's well worth it! There's usually street parking nearby on weeknights, and there's a garage close by for the restaurants in the area. It would be a great staycation or vacation to get a room at the Crossroads Hotel, enjoy a huge meal, drink at the bar, and then walk right up to your room!
google avatar

Victoria N.

Yelp
Overall it's a decent modern Italian restaurant. Good table service. The house-made focaccia is good. But pairing it with the tomato butter? That was excellent. I wished they didn't butter the bread since we were going to add more butter to it so it became very heavy. We did like our cocktails, very well-made. The appetizer: the Polpo had so much flavor. Pasta are made in-house. But the Lumache Al Forno and Serpente were not our favorites. The dishes had a lot of thought and effort put into it but the mushroom pasta was so sweet and my shrimp pasta was so saucy. And the shrimp scampi filling was heavily salted. If not it would been a great meal.
google avatar

Haley W.

Yelp
There are a lot of great Italian restaurants to choose from in KC, and this one deserves to be at the top. Located in the Crossroads Hotel, Lazia is a small restaurant but very cozy. Menu is not overly expansive and pastas are made in house. Really can't go wrong with anything on the menu so we ordered multiple dishes for the table and shared them all. Some of our favorites included the focaccia with whipped ricotta, the arancini, the serpente and the lumache al forno. Everything was so good! Of course we ended with the tiramisu. This is a great spot in the Crossroads for a nice evening. Need to give shoutout to management because they were so accommodating for our larger table on a busy night. Hard to find good customer service now days! Final review: 5/5
google avatar

Kevin P.

Yelp
Definitely an interesting experience for sure! When you go with a group, just pick a bunch of different menu items and they bring it to you family style. Everything we had was fantastic, but things I would recommend is the focaccia and hand pulled mozzarella! Will be coming back soon!
google avatar

Dat T.

Yelp
Perfect vibes for a date night in my opinion. Table seating is far away enough from others to be intimate, lighting is dim, and music wasn't too loud. Minor critique of the music is that it didn't seem to fit the restaurant or ambiance quite well, but that's a smaller matter. Service was great. Our server was super attentive, made sure our questions were answered, and gave recommendations on what to order. Never felt too intrusive. As for the food, I wish I remembered what we ordered, because it was phenomenal. Pictures are attached - hopefully that helps whoever wants to order the same. If I could vaguely describe it, we got a focaccia that was paired with a very nice, light, cream, tangy dip. There was a crab based dip that we also got as a second appetizer, and it was fantastic. The balance between the rich crab, bright lemon and chives, with the sesame was wonderful. Finally, we got two different pastas, which were also both great. Rich and hearty, full of flavor and prominent cheeses. Overall, if you're looking for a special night out, would definitely recommend Lazia. I don't know if reservations are required - even though we made one just in case (on the day of actually), when we came on Sunday, there were plenty of tables.

Yelp
Lovely high-end food and charming atmosphere. I found the fish dish a little underwhelming for the price (just fish, unattractively presented, with a delicious sauce, but nothing else, other than a few decorative vegetables); however, my dining companions were thrilled with their dishes, especially the "serpent" pasta, which is served with delightful flourishes. Service was gracious. I would definitely return to try additional dishes, and be there on a night we could try the homemade mozzarella.
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
Everything was generally to our liking, especially the focaccia service, simple but perfect. While our entrees (pork shoulder and Serpente) were ample and tasty, they were also curiously under-seasoned, especially for an Italian restaurant. Look, I get that their cuisine isn't wham-bam garlic overload, still, a little oomph would be appreciated. Complimentary Prosecco is a nice touch. The room is bustling but amenable to conversation. Our server was terrific for the most part, although as traffic increased wine service was a little slow. Generally, a good experience despite our few qualms.
google avatar

Joanna S.

Yelp
The thing I love about Lazia is that it's always a different experience and I love their seasonal menu that helps accomplish this! Always the best service, food, and environment. We started off in the entrance area with their housemade welcome drink and then proceeded inside. We tried their Insalata and Focaccia Al Formaggio to start and . So delicious and fresh. The vodka sauce paired with it is the perfect complement to all the cheeses. It was also a large portion that fed four of us perfectly. The insalata was tangy and crisp. Very fresh!

Yelp
Best Italian I've had in KC! We heard the hype so came here for Valentine's Day dinner and are so glad we gave it a try. Located in the Crossroads Hotel, Lazia is tucked away through velvet curtains behind the host stand and highly recommended a reservation as it is a smaller space. Our server was great with helping us navigate the menu and informed us about the family-style portions which was very helpful. To start, their freshly made bread was the best thing ever which we also got with ricotta. Then we the vodka pasta and the house-made noodles were so good. Lastly, we got chicken parm that came with a salad as well which was solid but we'd probably try something else next time. They were right about the huge servings so we got some great leftovers. The service was something we noticed was great from beginning to end and all the staff seemed to be helping out where help was needed (not just one waiter/waitress only focusing on their own tables) which was cool to see!

J V.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. To begin with, we ordered the carpaccio, which tasted sour and overly salty; neither my husband nor I enjoyed it. For the second course, I ordered the octopus. The oil used had an unpleasant, almost stale flavor, and the dish contained very little octopus mixed with pork. After taking one bite, I was unable to finish it.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Food was absolutely amazing like always. Only getting 4 stars because waiting to be sat always takes forever! Even with a reservation, expect to wait an extra 20-30 minutes. The food will keep us coming back.
google avatar

Chelsey V.

Yelp
Wow wow wow, every time I come here I'm blown away by the ambience, the service, and the food! We had a little bit of everything and so glad we did as some items were a special. The star of the show had to have been the pork shoulder...best I've ever eaten, the polenta was creamy, the shoulder perfectly cooked, and the apples and sauce poured table side, was such a delightful pairing. Loved the octopus, so tender and the sauce accompaniment was drinkable! Can't wait to go back and be wowed again. Well done on the fall/winter menu!

Yelp
Came in for my birthday and HALIEGH made it soo special! Cannot thank her enough for the amazing experience, she really set the tone for the rest of the night with her witty banter and hilarious jokes! 10/10 for Haleigh! I've been here before but never had such a stand out experience! Thank you !

Yelp
Amazing environment, excellent service, and a menu second to none. The complexity of the dishes and creativity that their chefs have put into them is phenomenal. The whole experience ties together so well - it's a work of art!

Yelp
We celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary last night, June 13 at this authentic Italian Restaurant located in theCrossroads Hotel. We had a wonderful evening with wonderful food and a terrific server, Halie! Each of the courses of food were presented and explained by a Chef Representative, very cool idea! The food was brought out very timely, not rushed. All of the food was at exactly the right temperature and was a picture in itself on what good food should look like! The dishes were absolutely delicious! We could not eat it all but we will tonight! We have lived in KC for 30 years and this Italian Restaurant is the real deal! Best by far of any other place we have been! We just returned from the Amalfi Coast and it beats the many places where we dined there in Italy! At the end of our dinner, we went to the roof top bar where we had beautiful views of the West Bottoms of Kansas City. The roof top was packed with many young people all dressed very nicely, having drinks and eating from a lighter menu. In conclusion, we had a wonderful night, food, service and ambiance were over the top! We're going to go back! Suggest you see for yourselves!

Yelp
I can't say enough about this restaurant. We went for my 40th birthday with a group of 6. When I say we got everything on the menu... WE DID NOT HOLD BACK. The amount of mouth watering dishes that we were served here is unreal. We ordered cocktails and several bottles of wine. Everyone in the party was happy and satisfied with the quality of food and service that we received that evening. It could not have been better!

Yelp
had reservations to sit at the bar. nice bartender, and food was decent. we did get a pasta dish that did lack some flavor

Yelp
My wife had tried to get me to go to Lazia several times for dinner but I just wasn't feeling it. I can't explain my reasons why other than to say that I have been fooled so many times by seemingly similar restaurants during recent years. I just didn't want to spend the time and money for the disappointment. Finally we visited Lazia for dinner during restaurant week and I was really very impressed. Lazia is not cheap eats. This place might be a special occasion type place for me anyway.....or else I might have to eliminate the cocktail(s) to afford it. BUT...thankfully I felt that I received some value for my money. We normally would choose a spot at the bar but opted for table service. My cocktail was excellent. The service was very very good. I really liked the 'feel' of the space....which reminded me of a sophisticated NYC restaurant if only that NYC restaurant would leave some buffer space between the tables lol. It felt urban and sophisticated but unpretentious. A+. More importantly the food was excellent. We tried (literally) everything on the restaurant week menu. Each of us ordered the opposite offering which allowed us to share and taste it all. It was fun to have such a variety of Lazia's offerings and all of it was very good. The salad was good, the pasta(s) were good, the focaccia was good. Some of it was jaw dropping excellent and every bite of it was quite good. So bravo Lazia! You FAR exceeded my expectations and provided me with a very pleasant evening. You succeeded at providing that rare mix of food, service, and environment that so many cannot. Next time the wife ways "howsabout Lazia?".....I just might agree. I would even just pop in for a beer, a salad, and some focaccia. I do wish that the bar and bar area were more capable of providing comfortable food service. The bar, while lovely, is quite small and is seemingly only intended to provide bar service to the tables or to provide a brief station for guests. There really isn't even enough room here to wait for a table....which is why Lazia holds you near their hostess stand in the hotel's lobby outside of Lazia's entrance. So if you are expecting to hang near the bar for a beer and some appetizers you should likely re-think it.

Yelp
Food was amazing! The Mafaldine alla vodka was a little spicy but had great flavor. The service was super slow and it took a long time to get our food. You have to go into the hotel entrance to get to the restaurant. If you want change they have to walk to the other end of the building which takes a bit so I would suggest paying with card.
google avatar

Kara M.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at Lazia from arriving at the restaurant to leaving evening was wonderful! We went for our wedding anniversary dinner and we put that in our reservation notes. we were given champagne as we were seated. We were told to put our name on the mozzarella list right away if we were ordering that so we told our waitress right away. We ordered the Focaccia and mozzarella as our appetizers and they were both very good! The pesto onto the heirloom tomatoes was delicious and my favorite part of the whole meal ( besides the Tiramisu), I ordered the Cappellacci and my husband ordered the Garganelli Verde both were very delicious and seemed small but very filling. The tiramisu was the best I've ever had in Kansas and I would go back just for the dessert! Overall I recommend trying Lazia because it was all very delicious and amazing service!

Yelp
A beautiful restaurant with beautiful food! I came here with my husband for a date night. We came right when they opened, because we were going to a show at 7. We ordered 5 dishes to share (they are small plates). We ordered the bacala fritto, carciofo, foccacia, serpente, and cacio e pepe al tartufo. The standouts were the focaccia with fresh basil butter, as well as the carciofo. The focaccia was some of the best I've ever had. The carciofo had an amazing layer of unique flavors. My husband loved the bacala fritto. The pasta dishes were both very rich and presented table side. I think my least favorite dish was the cacio e pepe, because it was so salty. The service was excellent. Overall, we had a lovely time at Lazia! Thank you for such a great experience.

Yelp
We've arrived on time for our 8:15 reservation and as of 8:35 we were still not seated. I frankly don't care about much else after that.

Yelp
We had a great meal @laziakc this weekend. We have been before with other chefs, @crosschefkc has completely changed the menu and my mind about Lazia. The favorites from the evening were the carne crudo with @thesaltcreekfarm beef and truffle, fegatini di pollo (fried chicken livers!!!), and cherry lime sorbet with italicus bergamot. Fried livers and tartare are 2 of my favorite things and these are well done. This is a meal and a show. Between the hand pulled mozzarella, truffle shaving table side, and plating of the serpente the staff is working hard to make sure that each customer has a wonderful experience. They are kind, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Yelp
Absolutely sensational! I would say it's one of if not the best Italian restaurant in Kansas City up there with Farina. The menu is constantly changing which makes it very exciting. The oxtail arancini was fantastic but replaced. All of the pasta is fresh, fragrant, and bursting with flavor. The service is fantastic and attentive beyond your needs. To top this all off the ambiance and dining room is very thought out and you feel taken care of from the second you speak to the host all the way to the end of the meal. The serpente, octopus, arancini and pretty much every app is amazing. We went recently and they had a special soft shell crab and I kid you not even though I'm from Florida this was the best soft shell sandwich I have ever tasted. From the double decker light airy buns to the sauce to the toasted sesame and breading everything came together in a way I never thought possible. Lastly I can't forget the roasted pork shoulder... This is a must try everytime as it stays on the menu but it is swapped with seasonal ingredients such as peaches for pineapple and so on. For the cost and amount you get along with the combination of flavors it easily makes it one of if not the best dish on the menu. I would give it more stars if I could and will always look forward to coming back!

Yelp
Ambiance: 5/5 The restaurant itself gives a very classical modern approach to its decorations and it really makes you feel cozy and at home. Loved the atmosphere and table settings. The restraint itself isn't big so it's hard to find an open table which is the only draw back. Food: 4/5 The food was very good! We got a pizza and whipped ricotta to share with the table. Most of us ordered pastas for the main and it was delicious. The last was fresh and really owned up to the hype. However the only drawback is that the menu is very set in stone so it's hard to ask for changes or accommodations to food items if you have an allergy or dieters restriction. It would be more inclusive if they could alter menu items to provide for individuals who need it. Service: 5/5 Our server was always checking in and making sure everything was okay. Loved it.

Yelp
The story: Needed a fun and exciting dinner spot for a work dinner. First time having the entire team in KC together and I knew I wanted to take them somewhere that would leave a good impression on them. Lazia came highly rated and perfectly located for a fun evening near the office. On the menu: What didn't we try? They served us tapas style and most of the table just picked off of all the plates. Highly recommend bringing in mozzarella Madame for the table side mozzarella which is so fresh. I also loved the braised beef protein option. All other dishes and pastas or vegetarian to accommodate to anyone avoiding meat. You can order meat as a separate shareable plate. There truly was not one thing that wasn't delicious. The service: Very attentive and helpful when making dinner selections for the entire table. Overall impression: I can't wait to come back and take my husband for the experience. Grab a glass of red wine and head over to Lazia for a dining experience you're sure to remember.

Yelp
We went to Lazia for a private 30th birthday party with a set menu (family style) and their tableside mozzarella. Their private dining room felt very VIP. One of the most *elite* feeling private dining experiences I've had. We had 14 people sat comfortably around the table. The service was good, although we did have a little snafu with the menu (it was different than what was previously agreed upon) and we had to request they switch out the plates between courses - which they accommodated. The mozzarella cart experience was the highlight of the evening, followed closely by the limoncello shots at the end of our meal. We also had a birthday cake which they were happy to cut and plate. Everything was delicious and we had a super fun and wonderful evening together.

Yelp
What a perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion! Lazia's menu complexity goes beyond the simplicity of typical Italian dishes, but continues the classic Italian foundation of strong, pure ingredients that need only a platform of expression to be wildly enjoyed (as opposed to being beefed up with added sugar, salt or fat to get a quick-result for the consumer). With that being said, as thoroughly clean as all of our plates were, we did feel like every dish in and of itself was saltier than it needed to be. We were drinking lots of water! Each dish is served as a shareable course and they helped us choose our dishes so they came out in a good flow. (And they were very obliging to our time crunch!) Our server was friendly and full of personality and helped us celebrate our 15th anniversary with a bit of Prosecco! Yum! If you love complex Italian-inspired dishes with multiple layers of taste and texture, I'd highly recommend Lazia!

Yelp
I've heard so many good things about this place and I was so happy I got to visit for a friends birthday. We got a private room that seated up to 8 people. The service was amazing. One thing I will note is once you order the food to your server you can't order additional food. Our server was very helpful helping us determine how much to order. Definitely recommend the mozzarella man! He puts on a show for you too when making the salad!

Yelp
After our first experience here my wife and I were extremely excited to return so this was my pick for our Valentines dinner this year and it certainly did not disappoint. Impeccable atmosphere, friendly service, and some of the best food you'll ever have. Their menu is certainly original and I don't think you'd be disappointed with anything here. The culurgiones was a wonderful experience and the lasagna had a really great kick to it. Lazia continue to knock it out of the park.

Yelp
I love this place! First it's so nice to have a cocktail outside of the restaurant while meeting a group before heading in. Once you go inside lazia it's so cozy and comfortable. My service has always been top notch (minus one experience when I think the server was just very high). The pulled mozzarella is a MUST! I love that the menu is constantly changing too. Keeps it interesting and keeps me coming back!

Yelp
whether celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or just a Friday night out, Lazia is a fantastic choice on the menu: focaccia, polipo (grilled octopus), bucatini, branzino, and budino di riso our thoughts: the food is next level. we love the classic Italian vibes with hip hop playing in the background, modern & upscale yet still really fun and relaxing. service on this particular evening was super slow, took over close to 3hrs to complete our experience, and we assume they were short staffed and this is outside the norm our tip: arrive a few moments before your reservation in order to relax and enjoy their complementary house made liquor

Yelp
We loved our entire meal from beginning to end. Fresh, creative, delicious and unique. The Wagyu carpaccio and octopus are a must.

Yelp
10/10 experience! The restaurant has a super cozy ambiance, dimly lit, warm, an inviting! The food was phenomenal, the arancini, the branzino, the focaccia , and the culugiorne made my heart so full. It really was out of this world. The service was great, our server provided recommendations, gave us flavor profiles and overall just a good experience. The dishes are a bit pricier for the amount of food you get so I would say this place would be a splurge for special occasions. Absolutely delicious

Yelp
One of my top 3 restaurants in the city. Food is fantastic. Focaccia is superb, pasta is top tier, and everything is so fresh. Everyone who I've taken to Lazia has raved about it -- especially the pork shoulder.

Yelp
For Christmas, my boyfriend and I decided we'd treat each other to some fine dining dinners, instead of exchanging gifts (highly recommend btw) and last night was my turn to treat and what a treat it was! We had reservations at 7:15 on a Friday night. We were about 10 mins early since we weren't entirely sure what the parking situation was (As an FYI, if you are just going to the restaurant, they do half priced valet ($9), though there is some challenging street parking around and a parking garage about a block down the street) so we ended up waiting for our table to be ready, but there are several places to wait in the hotel lobby area directly outside the restaurant so it wasn't a problem. It also looked like if you had a more substantial wait, they had water options on offer. Once we got into the restaurant it was maybe 3/4 full but it filled all the way up by 7:30, so definitely more of a sexy date night place. Once we were seated, it did take a few minutes for our waitress to come by and fill our waters. It wasn't a huge issue but this is definitely more of a leisurely service place so I would not recommend if you are looking for a quick experience. Once she did come by, we put in some of our order, I asked for a cherry coke (bf and I were both a bit under the weather so no booze for us) and we requested the table side mozzarella and the arancino. She told us that the mozzarella madam is at the mercy of the curds so she wasn't entirely sure when she'd be able to get to us during our meal but she'd check so she could give us better timing. My coke, again, took a while to come out but they'd added a homemade maraschino cherry, along with the grenadine, so I liked that. But after this I have no complaints about the service. When the coke came, we put in our pasta orders. About 10 mins later right before the food started coming out, I ordered the pork shoulder. She did say it's a very large portion so we'll have leftovers which I told her was fine. Another note: she said for 2 people, they recommend ordering 4-5 dishes, but that we ordered 2 of their large dishes so we really ended up with closer to the equivalent of 7 dishes, with leftovers. Now on to the food! The Mozzarella Madam, an extremely friendly and charismatic woman, ended up coming out first. She puts on quite a show so I definitely recommend if you want to add something special. She has her own side business so you can hire her for your own parties! She did a great job talking about how she makes the mozzarella. It was absolutely delicious and the salad that was with it was so interesting and flavorful. Right as she was starting, our arancino came out so we were able to eat that as she was doing her demo. That was also delicious. Very complex flavors and wonderful texture - plus oxtail is truly one of my favorite proteins. At this point, we got a little break to enjoy our mozzarella. Soon we got our 2 pastas. I got the culurgiones, which was basically an Italian pierogi (pasta filled with mashed potatoes) which was divine. My boyfriend ordered the strozaparreti. He loved it. I found it a bit salty, but since I was recovering from a cold, I may have missed some of the more subtle flavors. He joked that it may have been a "hare" salty (hurr hurr because there was rabbit in it), but we did end up leaving a little of that behind for leftovers. At this point the pork came out and holy cow, our server wasn't joking! It was MASSIVE. We definitely could have done that with like 2 small plates and called it a night but we'd never been to the restaurant and wanted to try a bunch of stuff. I think the pork was my favorite. They brought out a side of the braising liquid that had been cooked down to a gravy and definitely that was worth having. The dish was just so complex and so rich and ugh! So excited for leftovers today! With that, we called it a night. We would have loved to order dessert but were stuffed so our server took the leftover pasta and pork shoulder and made up 2 to-go bags (which was SUPER nice) for us, since we don't life together, with both the pasta and the pork portioned out did each of us. Our final bill, including tip, was $208 which, considering the amount and quality of the food, was quite reasonable. And the fact that neither of us drank saved us some $$$. TL;DR: Despite a little bit of a slow start, amazing service, flavors and portions make this a must visit for a special occasion!

Yelp
We had an amazing experience last night. Our server Abby managed our large group with stellar service and grace. We were seated in a private room with a preset menu because our group was so large. The food was almost indescribably delicious- focaccia bread, frittelle, agnolotti, tempura squash, chicken parm, radicchio salad, and so much more. The space was wonderful for our friend group to enjoy the food, cocktails, and time together. Thanks, Lazia!
