I was told that this store was incredible for its organic and top quality products and without a doubt Lazy Acres is incredible good. except for some bad experiences with the staff that works there, especially with some cashiers because they have been rude. Today especially with a cashier named Martin L, who looks elderly but is very racist and discriminatory, he forgets that he is a worker who is there to help us for what we buy and pay for!!! I am very sorry but apart from the quality of their products, for me the treatment is also important. We all deserve respect. I hope the managers or people in charge take importance in these bad situations.

Google
Upscale grocery store. Definitely one of the most expensive grocery stores in town. Still, they have a decent variety of products you probably won’t find traditional grocery stores. A large section of health foods, vitamins, and other supplements/alternative medication are available. A large deli-area offers cooked food, salad bar, made order sandwiches, baked goods, artisanal cheeses, juices, and smoothies. I’m rarely disappointed with the items that I get here, aside from being a little more expensive. Parking can be a little pain on busy nights, particularly since many of the spots are poorly laid out and oddly sized. There are many parking spots that are quite narrow, while others are spacious. This location shares a parking lot with a CVS and a few local shops.

Google
The cashier I had was so rude...get another job if you don't like working with the public. Upon getting cash back he handed me a $100 bill - when I asked him to break it he said no, I had to "go ask another cashier" because he did not have it. Fair enough, except all with a smug expression and I saw his cash drawer. So I asked another cashier..."no" he said. They both looked at me like "see?" The store content is great but I have not been back because the cashiers left me with a bad experience.

Love this place. Really nice selection of health focused groceries. Lots of great pre-made vegan meals! The tofu burritos are epic!

Google
Hot cookie heaven when you walk in the door. Beautiful market with so many fresh prepared food options you can go crazy. This place is a little slice of heaven. Super clean and friendly staff. You must try the warm chocolate chips cookies. Huge and impossible not to eat while shopping. Caprese sandwich on ciabatta is a great summer choice to take to the beach or wherever your adventure takes you.

Google
SCAM, SCAM market, ran numbers on property pay off etc, every item they sell you average 44% back into the owners pocket. This whole area everyone ones scamming everyone, no regulations just scam scam scam, wanna get rich ? buy food from local states for a penny on the dollar throw them here charge over 1,000% profit. Blowing up the governor tomorrow and the mayor. Stick up to this BS!

Google
Absolutely fabulous. One of those many benefits of living in a town like Santa Barbara. The chocolate chip cookies are a problem if you struggle with your weight

Google
The 4 oz $6.99 “egg and cheese English muffin” was hideous. Hot breakfast wrapped in foil. Muffin was super soggy inedible. Cheese was stringy and inedible. Scrambled eggs were the exact same eggs as in the hot breakfast warmer and slopped on with no care, just hate. I’m leaving an online public review so the food “schematics” managers will be required to take customer feedback seriously. Feedback in person in the store is ignored because employees know upper management doesn’t want to hear it.

Yelp
Honestly I go to their food court often out of convenience and noticed I never leave happy with the food. The meat is super dry or too oily most of the time but today was just unacceptable in my opinion was just super gross:/ good service though! Update; thanks but the one time I did your employee was giving extreme attitude and huffing and puffing about having to do the refund

Yelp
My sister was persistent about having strawberry shortcake for her 12th birthday party. Birthday girl gets what she wants so we came by to pick one up, without ordering one in advance like the last time. Luis and Sixto were the employees working on several cakes when we approached. We patiently waited and eyed all the desserts on display. Sixto helped us and was so sweet- even my sister quietly commented that he was helpful. My sister also wanted a cream puff, raspberry cheesecake bite and chocolate cheesecake so we ordered that too. Fast forward to a couple hours into her party, she was so excited for her cake and eager to cut it. She said her cake was, "good, tasted good. It was 9/10 and I would get the chocolate one next time." This restored my faith in these cakes again.

Yelp
The best part of Lazy Acres is their organic chicken noodle soup, which comes from their central kitchens which they share with Bristol Farms. Unlike Bristol Farms, Lazy Acres needs much better management and the cashiers need much better supervision. The parking lot is steep and dangerous, and often very crowded. Customer service needs improvement.
google avatar

Kelly K.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times. The parking lot is a pain. The store prices are high and selection is more limited than other stores although they have a few items that are hard to find elsewhere. I like the butcher meat section and am happy with the quality of the meats.

Yelp
By far my favorite Lazy Acres. They have decent ready made foods like poke and my fave, vegan rice krispies...and surprise, PAPAYA. Service is great and the vibe of this place is just chill and clean. Please bring Lazy Acres to NorCal...at least Santa Cruz (Silicon Valley doesn't deserve you guys). Just left for NorCal....can't wait to move back home to SoCal. Thanks!

Yelp
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning incident that occurred Lazy acres involving one of your employees, ALMA. I feel to express my deep concern and discomfort regarding their behavior towards me, which has caused me significant anxiety and stress while shopping for groceries. July 23 while I was at lazy acres I noticed that Alma was continuously following me around and closely monitoring my every move. At first, I brushed it off as a coincidence, but as time went on, it became evident that their actions were deliberate and targeted towards me. This constant surveillance left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and violated. I thought to myself maybe because I was in work clothes and boots and I looked a little dirty? I'm an electrician and just worked a 10 hour shift. Moreover, during my time at lazy acres I noticed that Alma made insinuations that I was stealing or engaging in suspicious activities. These baseless accusations were not only unfounded but also deeply hurtful. I have always been a law-abiding customer and I'm born and raised in Santa Barbara and have never been involved in any sort of theft or misconduct EVER. Being unjustly labeled as a thief has caused me immense distress and has tarnished my reputation in the eyes of other customers and staff members present on that day. Feeling uncomfortable I just went to pay for what I had in my cart and didn't even get to finish my shopping.

Yelp
Dropped in to pick up Primal Kitchen's Chai Latte collagen powder ($40 for 8.55 oz.). Didn't notice til I got home that the canister was filthy and the product expires in 3 weeks. When I searched the web to figure out how far the expiration date is from the date of manufacture for collagen powders, I found answers varying from 1-3 years. So, I estimate that the collagen I bought has been sitting on the store's shelf for at least a year and maybe up to 3 years. Ugh. Will be returning for a refund. Collagen powders are located across from the store's automatic entry doors, so beware these shelves, because apparently the collagen products aren't being regularly dusted/cleaned. That doesn't bode well for the fancy unpackaged soaps either, that are nearby and must also be coated in dust and grime. I've positively reviewed Lazy Acres before and have definitely spent a fortune here, since it's my closest store. However, if I had any illusions that it was a cut above other stores, those illusions were definitely shattered today, when I found the store's seedy underbelly on a canister of collagen powder. No more mindless pulling items off the shelves here and tossing them into my cart. From now on, I'll be scrutinizing items for expiration dates and excessive grunge.

Yelp
Ordered the pre-cooked Thanksgiving meal and it was perfect for our low stress get together. The turkey was moist and flavorful and not too salty - yum! A bit pricey but the convenience was worth it. Loved the store overall - so many specialty items with plenty of the everyday too.

Yelp
Grateful to have this as my local grocery store. Best selection of organic produce in town. Quality products always sold. Impressive deli choices. This store is well stocked. Happy to support and shop at Lazy Acres.

Jay V.

Yelp
Updating my review as we have gone back and it seems there are a few friendly and helpful people working there. The crabby ones are still there but mainly we have had a better experience since earlier. The grocery selection has been good and consistent. The only reason we give it 4 not 5 stars is that it's always sub-zero cold in there. The poor workers have to wear winter gear---hats, gloves, coats all the time. It's like braving the tundra each time we pop in!

Yelp
First time getting a smoothie from here. Payton was our cashier. He was rude, impatient and rolled his eyes when we told him we were going to pay separately.

Yelp
I had a hard time locating Lazy Acres smoothie and juice bar menu, so decided to snap some pics for those interested. This is as of January 2024.

Yelp
I just visited SB from LA and stayed a couple days , this market was 2 minutes away from where I stayed so I went in to check it out, good organic options and produce are very fresh, I checked out the shelves they have good organic brands but everything is pretty pricy, although I didn't mind it much since prices in LA are not low at Whole Foods but I think Lazy Acre has better produce and the salad bar is way fresher, I saw review about the hot food section which are not good, but being vegan I pretty much will not get anything from the hot section but I did look at it and yes it did look underwhelming not many choices. Over all I don't mind visiting and get my self a salad or get something to cook with if I ever stay in that area again, but it was not anything to rave about either.

Yelp
Came into get fresh squeezed juice and sampled some things along the way. Garden of life was here and I bought some magnesium which was cheaper than Amazon. The service here is always good. The ambiance is very clean and there is employees always restocking the fantastic salad bar area.

Yelp
We shop a variety of stores including Lazy Acres. Recently, we observed something that's beyond the pale; that is, the placement of tip jars at the registers. Really? Seriously?!!!!

Yelp
Lazy Acres Santa Barbara is my home away from home. Hands down my favorite grocery store, I raised my children there from the day it opened. I used to frequent the salad bar, which is beautiful fresh and tasty. Unfortunately, no longer. After many years of trying to help the situation privately-I need to bring something to the attention of the management (which I have tried on several occasions) The employees who work the salad bar are not trained in basic food hygiene. They push the salad refill cart out with gloves on. Then, without bothering to change gloves they dip their hands into the salad refill bags and grab salad to fill the bins. They touch the spoons that everyone touches, and then with the same gloves...pick up pieces around the salad bins and throw them back in the containers. Additionally, with sneeze guard open-no masks, and breathing all over the cold fresh food. And the dirty used rag that wipes everything. I first noticed this about 4 years ago, and many times since...and discussed it with the management. Please please please train your salad people! It reflects on the management. It's a lovely salad bar which I will currently avoid. Btw-the hot food staff is much more careful in handling, for some reason-I have noticed. 2 stars for hygiene. 5 stars for the rest.

Katy M.

Yelp
Well organized store with very friendly staff. They have everything you could hope for there. The food is delicious as always. I love supporting this community staple. It's a great place to hang out as well as do your grocery run.

Yelp
Very good OJ. Also Brisket from the hot tray and in the AM they have pre cooked bacon thats awesome.
google avatar

Jacob Y.

Yelp
$50 for two hot bar plates?! Yes, we each got a good amount but this is ridiculous. I have been to sit-down meals in SB for the same amount or less. Last time I will do this. I wouldn't pay that price again even if I were a billionaire--it is the principle. Do these people think they are Erewhon?

Yelp
should be called Lazy Workers This poor review is about the service. We wanted the deli to make us some vegan sandwiches, but the counter person did not know what was vegan and gave us wrong info, and didn't seem interested in finding out which items were vegan - not the biggest deal - but i wanted to let the manager know that it is worthwhile having a list of ingredients that the deli can check. Asked to speak with him and waited ~10 minutes, but he never came. So went to checkout stand and asked again - they called him (he was upstairs) we waited another ~10 minutes and he again never came - crazy lazy bad service - "Lazy Workers" sure! The grocery store has a decent selection of items.

Yelp
People always wonder how I'm able to eat a weeks worth of sweets and still stay in great shape... Well, here is secret weapon number 1 I present to you "Lazy Acres" Mediterranean Chicken meal This is good food... And also a reminder that healthy food doesn't have to be bland. The flavors burst through in each bite.. With crisp textures from the veggies ( roasted corn, peas, peppers,) Quinoa perfectly cook without a complaint available Seasoned Chicken breast And some sort of cheese crumble.. Reported to be under 500 calories ( I don't count calories, simply put I'm not that kind of guy) I enjoy food and keep an active lifestyle I found this dish to be better than what I paid for dinner at a popular restaurant downtown last night. And if you were wondering It was 3-4x less expensive... I also must admit.. Tasting this dish for the first time on Friday I went back again on Sunday to see if the word "consistency" existed Ladies and gentlemen Consistency This is a ready to go meal.. That works best heated in in the toaster oven Oppose to the microwave

Yelp
My friend and I went to Lazy Acres late at night after we got off work. We ended up bringing our groceries to the front at 10:02 and a tall, blonde man with a buzz cut (probably a manager) yelled at us to "get the fuck out now"! This was both rude and uncalled for as we only came to the front a little late and while it is understandable that we could not get our stuff, he could have showed some manners or at least neutral rather than cussing and yelling at us. We gave our stuff to him and left immediately afterwards.

Yelp
This is supposed to be a health conscious store which unfortunately doesn't seem to be concerned with good health, well being or quality. My daughter became sick from an item purchased from Lazy Acres. I was accused by the store clerk Rosemary of purchasing the item from another store, which was incorrect and inappropriate to say. The item was absolutely from this store. I did not know if I had the receipt or not for the supplement because most of the time the clerks do not want to provide customers with a receipt. The store should be required to give all customers a receipt. Regardless the store should have the decency to acknowledge a customers concern if a product is a health risk to children. Rather I was treated very poorly. Report to FDA. Whole Foods or Lassen's is probably a better quality choice for healthy and safe products. Very uncomfortable rude treatment after spending so much money at this store.

Astrid M.

Yelp
I am a customer of the Lazy Acres since it exist, this is my favorite market in Santa Barbara, but yesterday I was very disappointed to see that the people in charge of the meat market do not know that what they call and marked as Veal Liver, is far from coming from a veal ! Unfortunately I bought it, cooked it, but I could (nor my guest) not eat it. Veal liver is always very tender, this meat was very difficult to cut, very tough, tasteless, horrible ! I could not recognize the origin, it is not pork, not beef, not veal, What can it be ? I would recommend that the manager questions seriously the supplier about the origin of this meat.... Kangourou perhaps liver or ostrich liver ? This is not a joke, this could be possible.

Kara K.

Yelp
I love lazy acres. They always have the best high-quality food. One of the best salad bars in town. And all the staff in the meat department and the cheese department always so helpful.

Yelp
Your neighborhood market that just feels right. Long time resident of the Mesa, it's tough to get me off the hill to drive across town. Luckily, I don't need to cruz up State Street to Whole Paycheck for high quality food. Welcome to Lazy Acres. A small chain (Santa Barbara, Long Beach, Hermosa Beach, & San Diego) that some Santa Barbarians may scoff at but I say "Rise up. Reach out. Expand your options". But I digress. When it comes to quality, grass fed, organic, delicious, feel good foods, this is my go to. The prices are what I expect to pay but may be a deterrent. All I can say is "you get what you pay for". Lazy is for veg, animals, and simple/clean things in life mixed with Costco for toilet paper, TJs for the rest. I'm not a sweets guy but I hear the cookies are worth driving from Goleta for. While I love to cook, I will pick up some of the prepared foods when I just don't have the energy. Bright and airy. Personal service with a smile. If they don't carry what you want, just ask. They will try to get it. Try the poke! This is "my" store and I love them I'm happy to share

Yelp
Freshest Sushi to go pre ready you can find in SB. I have been coming here to get my sushi in a pinch since I was 10.

Yelp
Huge fan of this business because it's like the old Whole Foods before Amazon wrecked it. They have all organic foods, very solid produce lineup, great looking seafood, lots of health products -- vitamins, supplements, etc. Prepared foods that are yummy and many vegan choices. Fajita bar. Poke bar. Little bakery. I always pop in here to grab food for my family. Plus they have a water fountain out front for dogs and a bike pump and a bike repair kiosk.

Yelp
I just love Lazy Acres so much! The quality of their meat, fish and produce - those avocados are incredible- never disappoints. Employees are friendly, knowledgeable and take their time to help with any questions. It's always great to pop in for a quick lunch- deli sandwiches are fresh and delicious, salad bar, and my favorite is always the spicy tuna brown rice poke bowl. I do miss their homemade ranch dressing they used to sell- it was the best outside of making my own- I wonder why they discontinued it... please bring it back?!?
google avatar

Bettina K.

Yelp
The very best butchers on the Central Coast! I swear by their American Wagyu tenderloin. Their produce is postcard perfect ant their management goes out of their way to support local charities. This neighborhood artisan market is a cornerstone for slow food locals!

Mike S.

Yelp
Place is epic, everything is top quality. Yea, it's expensive as all hell, but the quality is so good, it's worth it. Hit bar is unbelievable, lots of variety, sandwiches are fantastic. Great wine and beer. Been coming for years, love this place

S W.

Yelp
Hot bar is a great place to pick up a quick meal. Great pot roast, Carnitas, mac & cheese, soups, mixed vegetables . Would like a little more variety in the salad bar. Pizza and sushi are also good. The cookie is wonderful!
google avatar

Yulia M.

Yelp
Hot food bar is pure evil, not exaggerating. gave it 5 chances. 5 times felt so poisoned by their there fish and chicken, the same symptoms nauseous and horrific headache for 2 days in a row after eating there. I don't know what they put in it, it was not bacterial though but more like either the way they prepare it or some chemicals they add to their food. I never get sick like that when I eat even at Panda express rarely when in a hurry and Lazy's is a health food store, they should be embarrassed. Simply experience from hell 5 times.

Yelp
only came here for the poke bar as my friend suggested it and I was very impressed! was skeptical at first since it was a random market in sb, but the poke was phenomenal! i loved the diy concept of it and everything I got tasted so fresh! 1 star off because it was v overpriced, esp for what I got. in the pic, that little bowl cost a little over $17, which I found absurd! I also got a little bit of rice because when I scooped it, it was v hard they did have prepacked bowls for ~$12, but my friend said they had v little poke in them and it was mostly other add ons & rice. since this market is known to be on the pricier side, I guess the price of the poke is consistent with it, but I would def get it more often if it was cheaper still a great poke find and I would go again if I feel like splurging on poke

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about Lazy Acres. While they have excellent items, it definitely caters to a specific demographic in Santa Barbara. I don't usually frequent businesses that are not inclusive. While I don't believe it's done on purpose, there's definitely a lack of awareness and effort. However, they have been starting to make an effort to send their phenomenal coupons to more eastside households which is encouraging. I hope they start including more of these types of neighborhoods. I love the poke bar the most. It's $17/lb, so I don't waste any space on the rice or veggies. I only get the poke. It's a rare treat for me to have a delicious bowl of spicy poke. I also like the salad bar and burrito bar. Its about $9/lb which can easily add up once you fill a box but it's fresh and great quality. I like to use my Axxess card for up to $5 off my salad bar. I pretty much only go to Lazy Acres when they send me coupons. And I pretty much only get the salad/poke/burrito bar plus my coupon items. With the coupon items, I feel like I'm getting a decent selection of new things to try. However without the coupons, these items are usually far more expensive than I'm willing to pay.

Yelp
The best performance art in Santa Barbara! No joke! If you're looking to add some zest to your day, swing on by the sandwich counter and fill out a build your own sandwich paper. Then, pull up a beach chair and observe as two grown adults, who apparently have never eaten, or have even seen a photo of a sandwich...attempt to build said sandwich. Literally amazing. The sandwich was totally overpriced, and just okay; but the performance art was truly priceless.

Billy S.

Yelp
The outstanding employees make this fantastic store the best in Santa Barbara, CA. Corazon, Elizabeth, Andre, Dallas, Jessica, Kathy, Jesus, Olivia, Daisy, Esther, Paola, are all helpful, friendly employees who go out of their way to make my shopping a special experience. Thank you to the manager Bryan for his choice of excellent people and trains them to become outstanding employees.

Jeff G.

Yelp
Must admit their poke is legit and that's about as far as the aloha and service goes. I go to poke bar and they are out of rice. Girl working behind counter refused to refill the rice let alone give me a small amount as she was too busy on her phone. 20 minutes of waiting I went and grabbed it myself (rice cooker was right next to her and already cooked. I go to checkout and they try and charge me $28 for the rice (I put poke in separate bowl). After being baffled and frustrated they tell me they have regular rice (only difference is one has vinegar added) and i go get the other rice at the hot bar. They charged me $12 dollars for less than a pound of rice. Pilau at its finest. For having such quality food, the customer service is worst I have ever experienced. I NEVER post or write reviews but this is pure insanity. Shame on the manager who also accused me of not paying and the checkout clerk had to correct her. For those who have morals and values go to Bristol farms. Hope they go to Hawaii and get a true Hawaiian welcoming, haole kooks.

Yelp
Nice to see a gourmet market that's not a chain. The food selection is good. They could use a little more variety in their charcuterie meats selection, though.

Yelp
Get THE COOKIE. it's SO GOOD. The best cookie I've ever eaten. This place is so clean and inviting as well. Never had a bad experience here

Minnie G.

Yelp
I love love love lazy acres, from their deli to their sushi and salad bar but my favorite is their coffee. However! The lady at the coffee station is extremely rude, she has ZERO customer service etiquette. It's like she gets bothered to have customers order coffee. If it wasn't for that I would get my coffee from there everyday, which is just a shame, great products but poor service can really drive a customer away.

Rachel W.

Yelp
Loads of pre-made food with high prices to match. I still adore their Spicy Poke which is fresh & yummy. Aisles are wide enough to maneuver around with their medium-sized shopping carts. Their cleaning products appear to be those designed for saving the environment rather than endangering it. My preference is to shop lower end stores for maximum germ eradication. Honestly, I only shopped half the store for a quick in and out. Salad and hot food bars appeared clean and well stocked. Probably would have investigated more had these areas been less crowded at lunchtime. Service is excellent. Speed lane checkout Cashier was extremely helpful and understanding of the credit card machine challenged.

Yelp
This grocery store had everything from apothecary to meats seafood very wide selection cheeses and everything else you can expect at a typical grocery store,. It was very much like a Trader Joe's but locally owned. Prices were very reasonable and every staff person made you feel like if you were part of their family of the company. Beautiful flower arrangements reasonably priced some of the items in here are shockingly pricey but for the most partAll pre-packaged goods were very affordable and great selection. The baked goods were also very good and although a little pricey. The quality and flavor it was worth it.

Ken G.

Yelp
I visit this store often. Always has been a pleasant experience. Love the selection and ease of visiting. Decided to try the poke bar for lunch. 90% sure I got food poisoning (Norovirus) from the fish. I haven't been able to leave the bathroom for two hours. Let's just say, both sides of me are very angry. My wife is pregnant and we literally booked her a airbnb till Sunday and evacuated her from the house. Praying she didn't catch it. I called the store just now to talk to a supervisor to ask if anyone else has called in. I did not tell her about my pregnant wife, just that I'm more than likely sick from the poke. She got very defensive and said it was definitely not the poke bar and that I'm probably allergic to raw fish.....ummm. Pretty quick to blame me for being allergic to raw fish!! I'm half Japanese and have been eating raw fish since I was a baby. I was just calling to warn them and see if anyone else had called in. First time i've had to deal with customer service at this store and the way the MANAGER got defensive and blamed me for getting sick was WILD!!! I may shop here again but i will never buy anything from the poke bar, hot bar, salad bar, or bakery. Now that I've seen how they treat customers if there is an issue, I understand the three star rating. However, I will give you 1 star.

Layla M.

Yelp
Lazy Acres is my favorite place to eat, I do eat there at least 3 or 4 times a week, I think it is a little expensive, but I am satisfied with the food at their hot bar, I would like the menu to change more often and not just once a month, but still the quality of the food is the best , always fresh vegetables and the customer service is fantastic, also their meat service is one of the best locally.
google avatar

Dani N.

Yelp
Lazy Acres is really great for certain things and just not the place you go for others. While it generally on the pricier side you definitely get the quality you pay for. I mean this especially because of their hardworking, kind, informative staff! I tend to spend a lot of time in the supplements area and am always greeted by one of their highly intelligent staff there looking to answer any question I may have and direct me to the right location of sales, brands, and other specifics. I know L.A. has been going through a dramatic change lately and that has changed a lot of the experience in visiting the store. Parking has not been as easy, things are hard to find, seems they are out of items they usually have, and so on. But the staff have been so understanding and over the top helpful during this construction period that it still makes the visit worth while. I have been making my grocery stop here for years always getting a couple bundles of Organic Romaine lettuce heads (cheapest and greenest in town), Kate Farms meal replacements shakes (usually $2.50 each), kombuchas, chili and salads from their self serve bar, sale ice creams, and NuGo Protein Bars. Recently I have discovered their smoothie and juice bar and the Green Power Smoothie (with coconut milk) has been my go to there. I am very excited for this construction madness to be over and to see what the positive future changes of L.A. may be. I appreciate the staff being so courteous to their customers in this change. Love my Lazy Acres goods and hope the low prices stay low and more sales pop up so I can afford more of the goods.

Yelp
Why are the cashiers and the people in prepared foods so consistently rude. We are local to Santa Barbara for 40 years and the staff at lazy acres are getting ruder and ruder...today a cashier by name of Paula J...was very rude..as my transaction was complete..she said you cannot leave until the transaction has been approved ..and it was already approved...this Paula has an itch to argue with customers, you can see it in her miserable face. I have no idea why or how the management can allow the cashiers to antagonize and be grossly rude to their customers.

Yelp
No jewish food section except during passover. Very few vegan options for hot bar or pre made food. People who have never been to a health food store will be impressed, but compared to most, it is lacking. The ambience is better than Vons, if that means anything. I've come here my whole life because I've grown up on the mesa. If there was any health food competitor on the mesa, I would never go to Lazy Acres. Also one time I saw them "employing" actual children bagging groceries, middle school boys, without pay because paying them would be illegal, Im sure. They actually complained to me that they didn't want to be there and wished to be paid. Still not sure what that was about. The reason I'm prompted to leave this review: I bought a cocoyo yogurt this morning, and it was spoiled. I came back to the same man who checked me out and he said I could swap it for a different one or get store credit without the receipt, even though I had original payment (credit card). Anyway that was super annoying, and their return policy needs an update if food items under $10 can't be returned without a receipt. Always gotta keep my receipts from crazy acres in case I get a bunk yogurt. Thanks.
