Lazy Lizard Tavern & Caravan Park

Friendly staff, which is always really nice and makes you feel good. I was surprised at this place, the town is actually really beautiful and rustic. A bit to see which is fantastic and the park small, but we'll looked after. Busy around check in times and fairly close together for the powered van sites but it's a nice place. Toilets, showers, camp kitchen are all quite modern and quirky Only downside for me was the 3 terrible beers on tap for happy hour. Pretty sure the Lazy Lizard pilsner is a Great Northern mid but $5 was a nice price to even it out

Great shady park, nice pool and the tavern is cool. Staff are mostly friendly and helpful, (a few weren't). I've taken 1 star off as there are no dogs permitted in the beer garden. Would've spent a lot more time and money in the tavern had they allowed dogs.

Love this camp great bird life amazing bats in trees next to park, bar area well thought out and great feel, lost one star due to the pool, don't think the pump was running lots of bugs/leafs, very refreshing but we didn't put our heads under. Love the trees/bush in here also. Great stop over. We had the last site so very popular

Very much like staying at Bark Hut Inn on the Arnhem Highway. Have a local brew “Lazy Lizard Lager”. $5 for a schooner, you won’t be disappointed. Amenities are identical to Bark Hut. Hot water runs out quickly to tepid. Don’t forget to turn ‘off’ then ‘on’ the light as it’s on a 10 min timer and if the last person to do so was in 8 mins ago and you’re in the shower. Self explanatory. Excellent meals at the tavern, pool to cool off in. Worth a couple nights to rest and recuperate. Spotted a Great Bower Birds nest in the hibiscus’s at the front gate. Give him space and walk through on the hinged side.

Great little place to stop, amenities in caravan park are super clean and good quality. Staff at the tavern are super friendly and food was good, especially the NT pizza. Only downfall, we were not warned about the terrible bat problem in the public park next to the caravan park, which is unfortunately located right next to the unpowered area. This meant for a night of barely any sleep due to the sound of the bats. Pack some earplugs if you are in a tent.

Ordered a Palmer the vegetables were uncooked all of them. Palmer was just OK not Not worth the money. Staff got edgy no vegetables left for half our table had to change order as they run out of food and we were here at 6:30 PM. 16/06/25 more than half a meals got left on the plate.

Excellent camping. The exhibition of collectible cars and motorcycles is spectacular, the design of the entire environment, the pub, the parking lot and the services are original and pleasant. The public space is clean and inviting.

Stayed at the caravan park and had dinner at the tavern recently The park was awesome, facilities excellent and could not fault any of that. Dinner was another issue altogether. Ordered the seafood basket. Everything was so overcooked that I reluctantly advised staff who promptly let me know that another meal would be made. It came out also overcooked. My husband’s marinated lamb was also burnt, but only just bearable. Plus it was completely covered in gravy. The staff offered me a dessert for my inconvenience but I politely declined.

Can't say enough about the fantastic ambiance, we wanted to abandon our holiday & stay put! Well worth a stop to relax between Katherine & Litchfield National Park. The food is your average pub fair (with the added bomus of pretty good pizzas). We were there at lunch time so could only imagine what it's like at night.
