🍜 Review: Lazy Sister – Tasty, Trendy, but Bring a Backup Snack
If you're looking for a Chinese food spot that feels hip but still hits most of the flavor marks, Lazy Sister might just be your next foodie adventure. Just don’t show up starving or expecting leftovers.
Let’s start with the vibes — laid-back, kind of cool without trying too hard. A solid date-night or “let’s pretend we’re cultured and try something new” kind of place.
✅ The Good Stuff
The martini? Not so good.
The New England Sea Hag IPA? A bold, bitter beauty. Great pick for IPA lovers.
The Mongolian beef and General Tso’s chicken both delivered that sticky-sweet-salty satisfaction. Classic hits, done right.
Pork fried rice was fluffy, savory, and not greasy — no complaints.
The pan-fried pork dumplings? Golden outside, juicy inside. Little flavor bombs.
Duck buns — delicious flavor, but… more like duck bites. I needed at least 3 more to feel emotionally fulfilled.
📉 The “Hmm” Stuff
Portion sizes lean toward minimalist. The duck buns in particular are tasty but leave you wondering if you just had an appetizer or a duck-themed prank.
It’s a bit overpriced for what you get — especially if you’re coming in hungry or planning to share.
👀 Bottom Line:
Everything we tried was genuinely good to great — there’s clear care in the cooking, and the flavors are there. But bring a friend with low expectations on portion size or prepare to hit up a second dinner spot after. 😅
Would I go back? Yeah. Would I recommend it? Also yeah — with a disclaimer.
If you’re out exploring new spots and want me to check one out for the squad, drop it in the comments. I’m always down for the next bite. 🍽️🔥
