1er Etage Opéra, a Design Boutique Hotel Paris, France

It has a communal living room and air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV. The atmosphere is a great mix between a boutique hotel and a deluxe guest house. A great little hotel/guest house once you are through the creepy construction entrance. The codes all worked perfectly and we were stunned when we arrived at the door to the very nice lobby. The room was chic and had great decor, comfortable bed. Very nice bathroom design and lovely linens. The breakfast was served by friendly hostesses each day. A fresh fruit bowl, yogurt, meat, cheeses and fresh croissants and baguette. Made to order coffee as well. |Tips, use the elevator not the staircase.

I am still scratching my head on these other reviews. We stayed for a night at this apartment BnB. The building is under construction so you have noise beginning early in the morning. The entrance / ground floor space and stairwell up to the apartment is absolutely tragic; I mean really filthy. You have FOUR doors with codes to go through before you will be inside of your room. The room itself is suitable, perhaps even slightly spacious by Paris standards but I think there are many other good options that are ACTUAL hotels that will provide better value in the surrounding area. Please also note that they have listed themselves on some of the booking sites as a 5 star hotel. This is laughable and egregiously deceptive. This is a 2 star BnB. Make no mistake. Added a photo since the property seems to be confused about how they are marketing themselves. Additionally, asking for cash for a city tax on the way out the door is not an acceptable practice.

There were not enough essentials. For example, the shampoo in the bathroom was empty, and not refilled, and there wasn’t enough toilet paper or tissues available. No bottles of water provided. Additionally, from the moment you enter the main gate, the path leading to the guest house was quite dirty and dusty, almost like a construction site, which made me feel frightening and unpleasant. It’s important for the owner to maintain not just the interior, but also the exterior, to ensure a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

The Premier Etage on Rue Joubert is in such an amazing location, only two RER stops from Gare Du Nord (so handy for CDG) and so handy for the Grand Magasins (Galleries Lafayette, Printemp) and Opera Garnier. It is also 3 minutes walk from a Metro stop which will take to to the Grand Palais, Le Louvre, etc etc. The apartments are superbly clean, and super easy to access with key codes, no need to be fumbling for hotel cards. The staff is really super helpful. The breakfast is super generous, I hate food waste so I asked them to bring me less after the first day. The room I had (room 6) was a good size, though the shower is in the bedroom and in a separate bathroom, which I am not keen on, but I should have paid more attention when booking. The rooms and communal areas are well decorated, with quirky little decorations from some high end brands like Astaire de Villiette. There is a small kitchen, equipped with tea, coffee machine, microwave and kettle and some little sweet treats. You can get to the apartments by a small flight or stairs or a lift. You have to step over the bottom part of the door as you enter the courtyard so it may not be suitable for people with limited mobility. There was also a step in the bedroom, between the area of the room with the sink and shower and the area with the bed. Overall I would rate Premier Etage very highly for location, cleanliness, decor, staff and breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, charming boutique hotel! It is perfectly situated in the Opera district and easy walking distance to many points of interest. We initially thought we had the wrong address as we did not initially see any outward signs of a hotel, and once we did find the front door we were a tad skeptical as we climbed up a vacant/sketchy-looking curving staircase (in retrospect it only felt sketchy as it was quiet, after dark, and in the midst of renovation), but once we got to the floor with the hotel rooms we were delighted to find the small reception lobby and our super cozy hotel room, which looked and felt more like a tiny apartment than a hotel room. It was tastefully decorated and comfortable, and the morning breakfast service was also a pleasant surprise - generous amounts of croissants, baguettes, pains au chocolat, cheese, fresh fruits, deli meat, yogurt, hot drinks, juice. We’d happily stay here again!

It was my third stay in this small (6 roms) hotel on the first floor of a typical Parisian appartment building located between Le Printemps and Galléries Lafayette. It is an ideal for a weekend for solo travelers or couples that appreciate simplicity and quality. The entrance is under renovation but once you are in, you see a beautiful and modern deco and a clean and spacious room. Breakfast is served at your table and is huge!!

This was a delightful little hotel. The staff was prompt in answering questions we had before the trip via email. The room was nice and tidy. The breakfast was superb. They have filtered water available to fill up water bottles which was a really nice touch. They also let us keep our luggage there as we explored Paris on our last day which was nice.

Wonderful experience overall! Our philosophy on traveling is to spend as much time exploring the city (ie. not in the hotel). This hotel was perfect for us. The are very communicative to ensure you know exactly where you are going. The hotel is extremely clean with space in all the right areas (ie. great shower, WC, wardrobes for each person, big/comfortable bed, etc). There is a common area where a delicious breakfast is served every morning with croissants, jams, fresh fruit with yogurt, cheese, coffee, orange juice... the works. If you return late there is a kitchen to get late night snacks, coffee, tea. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The location is in the heart of the city with restaurants and shops right outside the door.
