"I liked Hostel Le Banc’s perfect location just a few blocks from Galata Tower; it’s welcoming, the friendly staff host family meals and walking tours that make it easy to meet other travelers, and the place has a guest kitchen, rooftop terrace, café breakfast, en-suite dorms with comfy bunks and privacy curtains, private rooms, and is always kept sparkling clean—one of the best hostels in the city." - Matthew Kepnes

The 7 Best Hostels in Istanbul (Updated 2025)

"A few steps from Taksim Square, Le Banc is ideal if location is your priority: I appreciated the cozy common room and a lovely terrace with an outstanding skyline view. The dorm beds are cozy with privacy curtains and thick mattresses, the bathrooms are modern and clean, and there's a nice on-site café — all while staying one of the more affordable options in central Istanbul." - Matthew Kepnes

I wish I could have stayed longer! The hosts were so hospitable and lovely. D makes dinner for whoever wants to join each Sunday, which was exactly why I wanted to stay here versus a hotel- to meet people. They made airport travel seamless and my whole stay so comfortable. If you’re thinking about this hostel think no more and just commit!

I wanted to thank you for the excellent stay at your hostel. Everything is truly perfect: the breakfast is both delicious and very generous, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the hot water is very pleasant. The location of the hostel is ideal, and the café downstairs is very convenient. A big thank you to all the staff, who are really welcoming and attentive. The location of the hostel is ideal, and I also want to highlight that the complimentary Sunday meal is absolutely excellent. Lastly, I think the value for money is unbeatable. Congratulations on the quality of your services, and thank you for this great experience! Best, Emilie

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. Location is perfect, price is reasonable, close to metro, Galata tower and it’s easily accessible. Staff was super friendly, gave me a lot of tips, felt like I was part of big family. Rooms were clean, warm and quiet. When I’ll be back in Istanbul, I’ll definitely stay here again! Breakfast in cafe was splendid!

Located in the heart of Beyoglu, the hostel is within walking distance of many cafes, bars, metro stations and popular tourist spots. Keep in mind the area is quite hilly so be prepared for that. While it’s smaller compared to other hostels I’ve stayed in, that’s part of its charm. The staff are incredibly sweet and go out of their way to make your stay memorable (check out the photos from their Turkish dinner night and Pumpkin Carving event). The rooms and bathrooms are clean which is always a big plus. I made many friends and ended up extending my stay.

Awesome location, I absolutely loved it. Great service - I got help with the taxi on a way there and back, nice breakfast (unfortunately ate it just once because I had to leave early, breakfast at 9am). Rooms are clean, I had good neighbors, so I had no problems at all. Cute rooftop, plenty of common spaces. Nice hosts who always ready to help and invite you to activities. Im really happy with my experience. Oh and important thing to mention, I was traveling as a solo female and I felt very safe and comfortable.

This hostel is hands down the best in Istanbul! The vibe is so energetic and uplifting—it’s the perfect place to meet incredible people from all over the world. I made so many new friends during my stay, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The staff are amazing, especially Lina and Yosr—they're so friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms and beds are super clean and comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring the city. If you're looking for a place that combines great energy, wonderful people, and top-notch hospitality, this is the one. Highly recommend!

I recently stayed at Le Banc Hostel in Istanbul, and I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and welcoming it was. Here's my review: Location: The hostel is perfectly situated in Beyoglu, a lively district with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shops. It's just a short walk from Taksim Square and the Galata Tower, making it easy to explore the city's main attractions. Atmosphere: The staff at Le Banc were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made me feel right at home and were always on hand to answer any questions I had. The other guests were also very welcoming and I had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Rooms: The rooms were clean and comfortable, with central air conditioning. The beds were also very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring. Facilities: The hostel has a range of facilities, including a shared kitchen, a dining area, a rooftop terrace, and a laundry room. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the rooftop terrace was a great place to relax and enjoy the views of the city. The cafe at below the hostel is great. Overall: I would highly recommend Le Banc Hostel to anyone visiting Istanbul. It's a great value for money and offers a comfortable and welcoming stay in a prime location.
