20 Best Food Tours in Paris | Condé Nast Traveler

"Making good on its name—which is French for “the beautiful ordinary”—this shop, which is strewn with beautiful pendant lighting, sells extraordinary versions of ordinary things. For example, oeufs mayo (a.k.a. hard-boiled eggs) with mayonnaise are a classic Parisian snack you’ll find at almost any bar, but here the mayonnaise is homemade. Wooden shelves are lined with superb dried pastas, more than 300 wines, a small selection of cheeses, honey, salt, and more." - Catherine Down, Lindsey Tramuta

I found this restaurant in the Michelin guide, while looking for good (simple) restaurants with original French food to eat, as star-restaurants are out of my league and I wanted to try traditional French food like we learn in the books and see in the TV-shows. What a delight! This was the only restaurant in Paris we ate twice (once for lunch, once for dinner). It was also close to our hotel. Perfectly cooked white fish, perfect sized meals. There was a mix of the traditional French food with some modern touch to it! I ate the three dishes and was satisfied. Price is fair for the quality of the food and regarding that the cooks/chefs are definitely skilled. I suggest booking as the place can be full. Eat attentively, as the cooking and how the plate is constructed is something elegant; and the flavors are delicate. Dishes were not to be devoured but tasted and appreciated. The menu changes accordingly to the season and I would guess availability of ingredients. That said, I definitely recommend it!

This was one of those dining experiences that just made me happy by the end. I have never even seen so much bone marrow before but I demolished a large portion before it had a chance to introduce itself. The gnocchi and veal were also just perfect in consistency and accompanied by subtle flavors that really left an impression. The only possible complaint I could have is that the gnocchi were a bit on the salty side but honestly that should not be a deterrent from visiting.

One of the best meals my wife and I had in Paris so far! I love that the menu was tied to the season. Ive never had a pumpkin in meal, I was very impressed and surprised

Food was really good, service not - we served starters before any water or wine. Wine was fizzy and murky, it was replaced without fuss when we complained but replaced with a much more expensive bottle that also wasn’t to our taste. It was a shame that the wine ruined an otherwise good meal and is surprising in Paris!

We had dinner on a lovely Tuesday evening. The staff was very friendly, helped us pick the wine, which was an excellent choice. The food was amazing. We had huîtres, lotte and veal. Such amazing flavors.
