Le Bidule

My former roommate in Los Angeles who lived in Aix en Provence recommended this wonderful local restaurant serving typical French cuisine in a shaded quiet outdoor square. Wide selection including octopus, salmon and steak during lunch which ends at 1400 pm. Did not need a reservation. Prompt attentive service.

Great food on a great location, right in the center of Aix en Provence. I can highly recommend to order the Camembert as a starter and the duck breast as a menu. Both were incredibly tasty. Really nice touch was that the menu came in the shape of a comic book.

An amazing restaurant with a huge terraced area. Situated in a square full of eateries. Le Bidule is the perfect place to bring kids. They have a kids menu for 10€ which includes a drink, a main and dessert. Kids can choose from steak and chips, sausage and chips or chicken and chips. As the the adults, the menu is huge! From octopus salad to truffle camembert. The mains were equally amazing. I had an Italian beef tatar which was slightly seared on both sides, not served with the egg yolk (as usually is) and really enjoyed the different take on it. French and English speaking staff who were very helpful and friendly.

We had a fantastic lunch here with family. There is a large outdoor area which has full cover from the sun. I had the speciality burger and is was delicious.

A fantastic restaurant in a cosy setting. The service was friendly and attentive, regardless of whether you ordered in French or English. Food was excellent, though we both ordered steak & frites so can only comment on that (best entrecôte I’ve had in France, that being said). I’d come back again in a heartbeat.

The food is tasty and the ambience is fantastic. The service could be improved as the time to arrive or plates was a bit long. Overall, great place!

We had a blast, waited 15min tops for a burger and a tuna tatakki. Staff was great and great and so was the food. The home made fries really make a difference!

Nice place, good food, terrible service. The waitress knocked over a glass of Coca-Cola. Accidents happen and she said sorry, but we received no help whatsoever cleaning up (it spilled onto my grandmother, her purse, and my husband's phone was soaked, and we didn't even get extra napkins). Not only didn't we get offered another Coke but we even had to pay for the one knocked over...

My favourite restaurant in Aix! It is situated on the Place des Cardeurs, which is one of the most beautiful place in Aix. The restaurant has outdoor seating, with a very cute vintage decoration and candles. The waiters are mostly males and are all locals and very friendly, you will feel like you're eating in the garden of your favourite cousin. Their burgers are AMAZING! I take the fish burger all the time and am never disappointed. We took cocktails once and they were very good too. It's a very friendly place with good fresh food and affordable prices. Perfect!

The food isn't bad, but the servings are really too small, you'll leave the table still hungry. That would be OK if the prices weren't so high already (in all fairness, most of the restaurants in Aix are overpriced). The nail in the coffin though is the long wait just to place your order, plus the even longer waiting to receive the plates (we also ordered drinks but they never showed up). Second bad experience at Le Bidule, there won't be a third one.
