We stumbled upon this place by accident but were so happy that we did. We were trying to go to the champaign bar across the street but they were closing just as we got there despite google telling us they would be open later. Since we came all that way and were hungry we decided to pop into the place across the street instead. That brought us to Le Bistrot de la Galette. The staff was so friendly and welcoming that it made our disappointment of the other place being closed better just by the staff being welcoming. Beyond that though, the food and drinks were amazing! The server helped us to pick out drinks that would suit our taste. Everything we got was really good. You could tell that they have a passion for food and have pride in their dishes. The dessert was delicious as well. Another thing that we appreciated was that the server lingered in conversation with us told us about the history of the area. Definitely a happy accident in finding this place! Next time we are in Paris, we will be going back here for sure.

My worst memories of France from some 5 years ago. Found it while walking around and feeling hungry. Walked in, got seated. My husband speaks French, I don't so I let him do all the talking. Waiter took our order, then comes the owner, she looked around and then in french made fun of some Italian couple whose kid was not excited about the food in front of him. Then, she made fun of us thinking us being British, even sang some song that entertained everyone French there. We had my Mom with us and she was dressed like a older lady tourist, nothing dirty, but casual and comfortable.I remember some people at the table next to ours talking and looking at her. They even didn't lower their voices thinking we all are completely oblivious, till my husband told them in French to stop. Instead of enjoying the food, that wasn't bad, but nothing really great, I just wanted to leave. Well, since it was my Mom's dream to go to Paris, I just let her enjoy the night, but every time I think of that trip, I get goose pumps thinking about this place. We found really nice and welcoming places later, where people who visit their city were not made fun of just because they don't speak French.

Google
Stumbled across this place while trying to avoid overcrowded restaurants near the artist's Square. The food was terrific, quite different to anywhere else in Paris but still very French. The waiter was exceedingly helpful and friendly. Highly recommended

Google
Service was completely overwhelmed, took 20minutes for the single waiter to acknowledge and take our order. Food was poor to average, kitchen was staffed by one person, and a dishwasher. Decor is lovely.

Nice French style restaurant with very good service and lovely tables on a quiet street.

Google
The food is amazing, nothing I found anywhere else in comparable places in a week in Paris. A mixture between French and Corsican food, I had soufflé with rocquefort with the tastiest salad and herbs ice-cream, other great dishes were confit of lamb in a galette, shredded confit of duck in a galette with purple mustard. Desserts to die for, excellent service, very friendly.

Google
A lovely experience, with a menu that's different than we've seen so far in Paris' various bistros. The galette was described as "just like a burger" as it's basically pastry cut in two with different fillings in between the pieces. But it's so much more than that. The galette is crumbly on top and not too thick at the bottom, which makes the proportion with the fillings that much more agreeable to me. The fillings are so diverse, from pork to duck to chicken to scrambled eggs, and the two versions that I tried were both superb. Add to that the cozy atmosphere and the sweetest hostess, the dinner I had was definitely one of the best in Paris. Top notch and not to miss if you're visiting Sacre Coeur and Montmartre.

Food is nice and the have a special menu on the board based on what they offer that day. Downside of the place is the service. We waited a lot (half an hour) even tho wan't that full.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy summer night and this was my favorite meal in Paris for sure! The owner is wonderful and attentive. He took the time to explain how he personally chose a rosé wine and he also explained a bit about the meats on our cheese and meat plate. Then there was the duck confit. OMG. You guys, duck is amazing! Let me just say and in familiar terms, it smelled like Thanksgiving, but was so much more savory. I don't usually order duck, but I would eat it here all the time if I lived in Paris! The salad it came with was a great balance and the puff pastry was delicate and delicious. I will surely come back here the next time I'm in Paris.

Yelp
Saw this quaint restaurant across the famous "moulin galette resto", and tried it at random. Was I surprised. Amazing warm hospitable service, with the BEST soufflé I've had so far. (I'd say it easily will give " le soufflé " a run for its money). I also had the pig's ear pate which was good, and the galette de la mere del ray dessert which was a good ending to my meal. But yes, I have to say it again, the best soufflé. Totally worth the climb up the hill.

Yelp
Fantastic meal! Their main dishes are served in a puff pastry (sandwich style) and have phenomenal flavors. I had the confit (I'm a huge duck confit fan) and was very impressed. I definitely recommend skipping the touristy parts of Montmartre and coming down the hill to this delightful restaurant. The staff is very nice and the food is VERY good. I will be back!

Yelp
I struggled with giving them only a 4. It almost deserves a 5. The menu is based on a pâte feuilletée, or flakey pastry, meaning most dishes use pâte feuilletée as a base or a garnish. This is the French version of phyllo dough pastry. Basically each dish has a filling of meat, fish or vegetables inside a puffed pastry. The puffed pastry is not sweet and an American would compare it to a French croissant. We tried four of the dishes one duck, one lamb, one fresh fish (catch of the day) and one chicken. Some dishes were served with rice and vegetables or potatoes and vegetables. Every dish was delicious. The puffed pastry was excellent by itself and was made with organic flour. The restaurant was packed full with lots of French locals and some foreign tourists. Recommend a reservation beforehand. The only drawback was the wine list, they were out of many bottles and the first bottle they brought us was just so so. The second was an excellent Paullac. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They all spoke decent English. I will definitely return on my next trip to Paris.

Yelp
This bistrot is really great! My husband and I both think our dinner here was either at or very near the top of the list of meals we had in Paris. The service is super friendly and personable, and the food is very unique. It is Norman cuisine, and most dishes are served in a round light pastry cut in half. We started with Calvados, then I got a salad with a Norman version of deviled eggs with slices of lovely, crunchy baguette. This made a light meal. My husband ordered one of the flaky pastries stuffed with a shredded chicken. The dish had a subtle combination of spices and textures and we both thought is was absolutely delicious. Great wine, a yummy molten chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert... We were in heaven! Check this place out. You will not regret it.

Yelp
We chose this restaurant at random on our last day in Paris - we were staying in the Montmartre and had a few hours to walk around and have lunch before a late afternoon flight. We didn't have any expectations (it just looked like a cute place to have lunch), but this ended up being one of our best meals in France. My boyfriend got their puff pastry dish with chicken and I ordered their Navarin of lamb (basically a lamb stew). Both were excellent and flavorful, and it is definitely a place we would recommend. Main courses ran about 15 to 17 euro a plate and given the quality of the food that is a steal, especially in Paris. Service was friendly (and English translations were quickly offered), but a bit frazzled once the lunchtime crowd picked up. Also, please note that this food is carefully prepared, so although we thought it was worth the wait it did take us about 45 minutes to get our main course.
