Le Bistrot de Nino

We stayed in one of their rooms and sitting on our balcony we had a view of the restaurant. Watching tableside preparation of catch of the day drove us to the decision to try it one evening. Our waitress was wonderful and the sea bream was fresh, properly cooked with a generous helping of potatoes and vegetables. The view was magnificent.

They are a great team! Authentic, friendly, helpful and efficient if you need any info e.t.c. Great spot to enjoy façade view of the harbor / castle / horizon color shades. Great French menu options, service, vibe. Merci beaucoup✨️🎉

We ordered a bottle of white wine and I had the sole a la meunière. The wine arrived too warm as if they had it placed in the ice bucket uncooled. Okay, the second bottle was cold. Then I got my fish. It was maximum half done. I sent it back. It arrived still not completely cooked. I left it on the plate. At least our good waiter had the decency of leaving it off the bill. So the service was okay the rest not so much.

Our first visit to Nino was last September for a lunch we judged with friends to be one of the best dining experiences one can have; in a little port, next to the pretty bobbing boats, in the sunshine, excellent seafood, crisp local rose wine, attentive and professional service. We aimed to come back and this we did a few days ago to stay in one of the three well-appointed rooms. It was small but shipshape and comfortable, quiet and pristine and offering such an exquisite view of the chateau on the rock and the busy little harbour. Very romantic to watch the setting sun's golden light flood across the rock while you sit and sip une bonne coupe de champagne served with delicious marinated olives. Then dine on the best frittura mista with such surprises as tempura orange slices. The whole thing is just lovely and Bruno and his team work hard to make your dreams come true. Really good value with parking and breakfast included in the room rate. Will definitely go back.

Friendly and efficient service by hard-working English-speaking staff, but the food was really disappointing after a very long wait. Moules marinières: generous portion of small tasty mussels, but they were overcooked. Fritto misto: uninteresting, not crisp, seafood overcooked and tough. On the other hand, the local white wine was excellent. The port-side location is beautiful.

Visited Le Bistrot de Nino looking for a good time with friends, unfortunately the food was abysmal. We ordered the prawn linguine and steak, and on top of a very long wait, the pasta was quite literally tasteless and the steak was cooked and seasoned poorly. However, the wait staff were very kind and accommodating and the view was amazing. Despite its good looks, I would not dine here again on account of the food. A very poor €200 spent.

We had a pleasure having dinner in this restaurant with amazing view and very friendly staff. We went for a catch of the day in combination with some very good local wine, and huge portion of dessert. Everything from the beginning to the end of the experience was great, we can only recommend this outstanding restaurant next to Port of Cassis! Valeriia and Ignace

Aggghhhhh, where to start with how dreadful this was?! In a tourist town like Cassis, it’s not necessary to have Alain Ducasse in the kitchen to earn money. I knew thjs. I did some due diligence and it suggested Nino was one of the better restaurants on the port. It can’t be? It’s dreadful. Lackadaisical to non-existent service (And the sense they couldn’t care less because they will be busy anyway). Lukewarm beer and wine. Cold mussels in a moule mariniere, which surely they couldn’t mess up?! It’s hard to recall wasting my money in a place that cares so little about its food or customers. I had to go somewhere else after to eat straight after to check not everywhere in Cassis could be so awful. Thankfully there are clearly much better options.
