Nice place in the heart of the old city of Sarlat. Nice terrace. A large choice of drinks and dishes. Very professional and kind staff. Good price. If you choose the menu, the portions are nearly half the size from the one à la carte (explained by the staff) because the menu’s price is trajet competitive for the location

Great place. Awesome service. Our only issues are the same potatoes with 2 different dishes. Also to much garlic in the persillade on those potatoes. However it is definitely a question of taste and does not reflect on the quality of the dishes that were amazing.

We stopped here for a dinner and it was fabulous. It was a busy August evening but the staff quickly reset a table for us outside and service was fast. We ordered the tartar and asked for a recommendation for both white and red wine. Both were fantastic, including the meal. Attentive, speed and high quality.

Smoking is not prohibited in the dining area. And a few people smoke carelessly, ignoring the health of other diners. Ultimately, it's the fault of the restaurant. A restaurant that allow smoking in dining area shows they don't care about their customers' health. According to the World Health Organization, secondhand smoke not only increases the risk of lung cancer by 20% to 30%, but multiple studies have also shown it can increase the likelihood of conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). So, there's a big question mark over the healthiness of the food provided by this restaurant. Three stars is already the highest rating for a restaurant that doesn't care about the health of its customers. 🥩Homemade Duck and Goose Liver: This dish has a relatively high duck liver content, and it comes with a noticeable gamey taste. You might find it quite enough after just a few bites. 🥩Chanterelle Mushroom and Egg Casserole: That's the translation provided by the Google translate. In reality, it tastes like mushroom soup made from a powdered mix you'd find in a supermarket. The slight twist is the inclusion of a half boiled egg. Surprisingly, the textures complement each other well. 🥩Duck Confit: This is a traditional French dish. "Confit" is a traditional method from the south of France for preserving meat in the days before refrigeration. The duck leg here is cooked just right, with the gaminess of the duck expertly removed. The roasted potatoes and garlic are a perfect complement. 🥩Trout: The app translates it as "trout," but it's actually salmon. It's served with a basil cream sauce that has a pronounced flavor, reflecting a local seasoning style. The side dishes are well-prepared. This restaurant also serves a pre-meal cold appetizer. If it weren't for the smoking, this place could easily get a 5-star rating. One of the diners, who was with a baby, left directly upon discovering there was no non-smoking area.

Wanted an early dinner and owner told us they start service at 6.00. We had a drink elsewhere and returned at 5.30 thinking we would have a glass of wine before dinner at 6.00. Owner then told us service started at 6.45 because ' we need a break too'. We stayed and they took our order at 6.50. Our entree of pate en croute was ok. Our mains of confit duck with ceps were very average. Overcooked duck, a big pile of soggy potato slices with garlic, some cooked garlic pureed, a couple of carrot slices and a slice of zucchini and a tablespoon of cooked mushroom puree (presumably ceps). We ordered a side of pomme frites - what a soggy mess - looked like yesterday's fries reheated. Very ordinary. The staff were run off their feet. Also whilst we were told by the proprietor that he doesn't take bookings - he and the waitress both asked every customer if they had made a booking. Not sure what that was about. Do yourself a favour skip this restaurant.

Can not rate this place higher. Literally ate here almost every night when I was on holidays last summer. And this year it’s the same story! The duck salad and the duck confit are incredible. It was hard deciding where to eat after eating here. We just kept going back! Haha! Also Cyril and Camille are so so lovely! And remembered us from a year ago. Definitely definitely recommend 🙌

Good lunch along the main road of Sarlat. Ordered Salad with cheese and Ribs, Trout salad and Grilled Duck. For desserts, walnut cake was brittle. Chocolate cake was nice. Friendly service.

Yelp
Croque-monsieur brioché 15€. Bread was like a delicious shell around flavored air. Really enjoyed it. In fact we came here twice on this trip. The second time the sandwich was not as exquisite but still good. Three people had the Curry de pois chiches €15. All enjoyed their food very much. Service was good and they no problem with English. ( not that we have found many that had problems with our lack of French). They have a nice location in the city and a nice size outside seating area. Service was good Nice that is was close to our Air BnB

Yelp
Best duck we've had in France. Service was excellent. Right across the street from a beautiful Cathedral!

Yelp
After a few days touring southwest France, we stumbled upon this lovely town. We took our time in selecting a restaurant since there are so many, and our choice turned out to be the best one of the trip! The service was wonderful and the salads my boyfriend and I both ordered were perfect along with the cava. Highly recommend sitting outside under the heatlamp. Great spot to watch the scenery.

Yelp
Rick Steves knocked out a home run with this recommendation for us here. Le Bistrot was the best meal here yet. I had the duo fish, salmon and cod. The sampling was on the small side but the accompaniments filled to satisfy. My wife had the pork which was a bit on the tough side but tasty none the less. The staff was excellent.

Yelp
A wonderful Caesar salad with shrimp, panna cotta with fresh strawberries and white wine. What more could you ask for? We sat on the street across from the church and watched the world go by.

Yelp
Excellent food in a fantastic location. Great service. Management is on top of things. Servers are cordial and attentive. They made my family and me feel welcome. The food tastes great and the presentation of the dishes is well thought out.

Yelp
Amazing people watching and outstanding value. 14 euro menu (entree + plat or plat + dessert) is plenty for lunch and the quality was superb. Waitstaff are friendly and do not push English on you but are happy to oblige if requested. A great mid-day stop in a wonderful town.
