"Born in Réunion and trained in Belgium by a Japanese chef, Laurent Balancy channels his international spirit at this lively bistro. Think classic French dishes with a Creole twist, such as a signature cassoulet spiked with turmeric leaves and garlic. Balancy’s nose-to-tail approach and expert way with a whole fish has earned him many fans. Regulars often turn up for lunch and stay until dinner, working their way through microbrewed suds and easy-to-quaff bottles of natural wine."

Amazing service, incredible food, and delicious wines. The space is intimate and comfortable, and lends itself to Le Bout's welcoming embrace. Service was exceptional; we felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant. That individual attention is very special. The food was next level - we enjoyed the head cheese pate, duck confit, and cassoulet. Each dish was executed perfectly, and I'm struggling to find any flaws. Let Bout only serves natural, organic wines that they hand select. Under other circumstances, in other restaurants, that might seem pretentious, but here it was thoughtful and knowledgeably done. This was a meal we won't soon forget!

Delicious and quite original french brasserie. A Frenchman serving by the books and a just incredibly passionate chef in an 3 piece-en-enfilade setting. You want to try the toung, the tartare, cassoulet, the wines and maybe a desert.

Amazing food, ambience, staff. This restaurant definitely checks all the boxes. The food was amazing and freshly cooked. Me and my wife had the pigs feet croquettes 🐖 followed by their famous cassoulet 🥘 and a pork rib 🐷 The cassoulet is to die for served with duck confit leg and a smoked sausage. The pork rib was extremely tender and cooked to perfection with a crispy fat outer layer 🤤 We finished the meal with a warm and decadent chocolate cake 🍰 The staff is extremely helpful and friendly too and she gently translated the menu for us 😊 You will also find some good natural wine too🍷

My partner and I Iove meat. The araignée is simply to die for, it’s succulent, tender and melts in your mouth. The chef is simply a gem ❤️ giving credit where it’s due. I cannot recommend it enough. Try it-you won’t be disappointed!

I discovered this place by a very happy coincidence and what a place! I’ll definitely be back many times and the pigs feet are delicious (reminds me of my childhood in Sweden). 👌🏻

Average food, service kind however not good. Forgetting plenty of things and many things need to be ask 2 times. And the resto was not full, so no overload

Great and very nice service in a nice atmosphere. Good beer selection and food. Not for vegetarians though...

Yelp
Le Fruit Défendu just a few steps away is a better place to go (and also one of the best restaurants all around in Brussels - intimate atmosphere, excellently procured menu, sharp and intelligent service). Service at Le Bout de Gras is extremely unprofessional but attempting to be cosmopolitan, apparently trying to imitate the attitude of great Parisian bistros. The wine was exceptionally well chosen but the interaction to order it was rushed and rude when the restaurant wasn't very busy. We ordered the aged entrecôte and was decent.
