I definetely recommend this place. Food is incredibly tasty and unique. All foods have signature touches. Steak is being marinated for 72 hours. Mushrom bread starter was also amazing. Servers are polite and they are very good at their job

Recommended by our tour guide. We ate the Sweet Potato & Curry Soup, Lamb Tagine, Broccoli Couscous & Herb Salad, Bacon Cheeseburger & New Potatoes, "Drunken Dragon" Beef Onglet Steak with Mashed Potatoes & Shiitake Mushrooms, and Salted Caramel & Walnut Tart with Crème Fraîche. Solid recommendation!

Google
We didn't have a reservation and they were all booked. The bartenders didn't turn us away and gave us a seat at the bar. We loved the food here. We tried the fish and the steak. They were delicious. I also recommend the cheesecake. The crust was the best part. The staff were really kind and helpful. We enjoyed the small chat with the bartenders.

Had a lovely lunch here, served by really friendly staffs. The food was amazing, especially the steak. Was lucky to meet the cat that just came back from a walk outside.

Google
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We arrived close to closing time but we were still welcomed. We each had classic steak & frites with a nice glass of red wine. The steak was cooked as ordered. They offer a nice selection of classic French desserts. I recommend the Île Flottante or floating island: soft meringue, caramel and crème anglaise.

Google
We popped to Le Café de Mars yesterday. The staff were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about what was vegan on the menu with good English. There was a salad option and a burger. I chose the burger and it was great. We shared a beer and enjoyed watching the cafe’s cat sunbathe!

This nice restaurant was recommended to us by a local. We had a great dinner. The food was tasty and the service really friendly. Highly recommend 👌

Google
Got this place out of Rick Steve’s tour book and chose it because it was close to the Eiffel Tower which we visited in the afternoon. Taxi driver got confused/lost but we made our reservation. Small place. Diners near us had small children and they themselves were loud. We didn’t really converse because we would have to almost yell to be heard. Two of us had veggie burgers that they said were good. We shared the tuna/artichoke bruschetta and the cheese appetizer. Both were good. We ordered red wine (the first one on the list 8€). I really didn’t care for it and didn’t finish it (very unusual for me). The food was good, but the atmosphere lacked.

Yelp
We had a fantastic dinner at Café de Mars, just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower but a world away from the touristy scene. This place has that scrappy energy in the best possible way--servers switching effortlessly between languages, bartenders pulling double duty, and everyone working with heart and hustle. They got some strong American diner vibes with authentic french food and wine. We started with a bold and unique Chenin Sous Voile from Domaine Jousset--dry, nutty, and layered like a white port's sophisticated cousin. Highly recommend for anyone looking to drink something memorable. For mains: The flank steak was perfectly cooked medium rare, tender, and full of flavor. Modest portion, but just right considering the quality. The lamb tourine was a standout--fall-apart tender, moist, and rich without being heavy. The sauce was made for mopping up with couscous, and paired beautifully with our carafe of Syrah. Everything was balanced, thoughtfully plated, and delicious without being flashy. Portions and prices were modest, which left room to explore the menu. This is the kind of spot that makes you feel like you're in Paris--not just visiting. Cozy, charming, and quietly brilliant.

Yelp
Great food great ambiance great service defiantly a go to place ! We loved it . My kids loved it also

Yelp
Good spot but definitely know what to order and stick to items with more breakfast like and French light meals. Note: They change their menu every 14 days Food: Mushroom bruschetta 5/5: creamed spinach bruschetta toast with shaved egg yolk and wild mushroom. Definitely a step up from avocado toast- it was great DrunkenDragon style steak 3/5: ordered due to it being the only constant item on the menu and their "signature" but although the steak was nice and tender I though the soy sauce based glaze with shittake mushrooms was a bit overbearing

Yelp
My husband and I were in Paris 2 weeks ago, first time. He has Shellfish allergies and I could only eat Gluten Free foods. They were able to accommodate us. We were able to enjoy a delicious meal with Chicken and 2 of their desserts. We truly enjoyed it! The restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly. Merci Beaucoup

Yelp
When I saw online that Cafe de Mar has live jazz on Saturdays at lunch, I knew my husband and I had to check this spot out together. We only got a few kid-free meals during our trip to Paris so we had to choose wisely, and this was definitely a memorable dining experience and the right choice. This small cafe sits on the corner of a quieter side street but was still super easy to find. We arrived around 3pm and were able to get a table with no problem. The live jazz consisted of two musicians that played some nice covers. Waitstaff were nice and super down to earth. We ordered the olives and almonds to snack on, a sort of whipped ricotta with bread. As entrees we ordered steak and clam chowder The steak had shiitake mushrooms that were incredible. I don't know what seasoning they used but I'll be trying my best to replicate them at home. But what won us over was the clam chowder, WOW! We both agreed it was the best clam chowder we've ever eaten in our lives! It has had fresh clams, super finely diced vegetables, and some sort of sherry immersed that completely set it off. We'll both dream of that soup because it was that good! If you're looking for a nice, chill vibe with great food this is your spot! And always ask your server for their rec because they always know what's best

Yelp
We had an impromptu dinner here the other evening, which turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. We started with some olives (served warm) and some labneh, then shared a pumpkin salad, polenta and mushrooms and some Italian cold meat (for the meat eaters, not me!). I had the red snapper bouillabaisse for main, which was the stand out dish. I wish they had a few more shrimp in there as that was the best part of the dish. Our server was personable, attentive and lovely. Atmosphere was cute and cozy bistro. Would recommend for sure!

Yelp
We started the day with coffee and pastries. We later came back here after our Eiffle tower tour for lunch. We ordered a burger, spaghetti bolognese, and a rib steak. Unfortunately everything was bland. There was some real potential. Ah, maybe we came on a bad day. We came back the next day for breakfast. We saw some of the breakfast items the day before and thought it all looked really good. We ordered the pancakes and French toast. The pancakes were, well, not good. Kinda plain. BUT the French toast..... WOW. It was the best I've ever had. It was so good that we ordered two more orders to replace the pancakes. This made up for the other meals. The service was good. The staff was nice. The place is right on the corner with great views and good people watching. The coffee was good, and the french toast was great. It's worth a visit.

Yelp
Delicious meal with varying menu items and although nearby the Eiffel Tower, the prices are very reasonable. Between 3 people, we ordered 3 starters and 2 main dishes for our light lunch. For starters, we had grilled polenta, grilled eggplant, and a tuna/frisee salad toast. For main dishes, we had roasted duck, and a take on bouillabaisse. Of course, these are very abridged summaries of what the dishes actually contained, but each plate was thoroughly thought out. Would not hesitate to eat here again. Bonus if if you see the cafe cat!

Yelp
Food is really tasty. Service is solid as well but kind of slow (but I get I'm not used to the French way). The drunken dragon whatever beef dish is REALLY good; meat is cooked perfectly and seasoned great. Mashed potatoes is also phenomenal with hella butter. The mushrooms is VERY heavy on the ginger and even though I like ginger, I felt that it was a bit too overwhelming. My mom got the fish and said it was just okay. People here speak perfect English so it was a great way to start our trip. Very cute and tucked away in a small corner but don't be fooled, the food is scrumptious.

Julie B.

Yelp
One of the best burgers I have ever had. The staff was amazing and so attentive. Would recommend to anyone visiting Paris.

Yelp
THE BEST!! The menu changes every 14 days but the quality does not! They have the best wine selection that will pair perfectly with your meal. Love that the menu items are fresh and adventurous but always feel very homey. Lovely staff as well. Must try the goat cheese cheesecake!
google avatar

Yelp
We found this place from someone's blog and decided to eat here since we were near. The staff was so nice and had great recommendations for food and drinks. We got the olives, charcuterie, wine, pork, seabream, and goat cheesecake. It was one of my favorite meals in the city. We went a little early without a reservation but highly recommend making a reservation so you don't miss out.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Ambience is casual and service is quick! Best was the steak and mushrooms in the red wine sauce!

Yelp
loved the soup and salad, & their own marinated steak and mushrooms goes so well together! The store is very cozy and neat. The service was awesome, sweet ppl, and good vibes :P would def rec and come back.

Yelp
We walked in and thought they were on the cusp of being fully booked, they sat us. Very friendly staff. This is a place that has a menu that is slightly different from what I suspect is the standard cafe menu aimed at tourists, and it was magnificently executed. We had the manchego with herbed honey as an appetizer. Wonderful! The bread was a brown bread, not a baguette and fresh and delicious. We each had a house red that's was perfectly balanced, just outstanding. I had a flank steak that was the envy of anything you can find in Texas. Served with pickled shatacki (?) mushrooms that were a perfect complement and a buttery mashed potato that was excellent. My kids had a chicken salad that was outrageous. The greens had pomegranate and mint and it was delicious. My wife had a burger that came with sliced fired circular fries that were outstanding. This is a the place that is just off the beaten path that will serve the meal you came to Paris to say, "I ate in this little cafe and it was cozy and outrageously delicious," and you will not forget it.

Yelp
Delicious food, friendly owner/service (including to my kids aged 4 and 6), amazing live music on the weekend...one of our favorite spots we visited in Paris!

Yelp
My husband and I visited last month while on our honeymoon and had a wonderful time! We researched places beforehand because I'm vegetarian, and I had a wonderful halloumi salad. My husband loved his duck. The server (who may have also been the owner?) was very nice and friendly, and helped with wine and dessert selection (we had a yummy tart with figs). We sat outdoors and it was very nice and relaxing. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
This was an amazing place! Everything we had was so tasty - I was pretty impressed. If you're ok to not have an awesome city view and enjoy amazing food, come here. We had the labneh, heirloom tomatoes + feta, and the grilled flank steak. Enjoyed it with a glass of red wine! Thank you!

Yelp
I love eating at cafes in Paris. The wild numbers of people, the absurdity of the lines and the noise as well as the sights and the smells. Cafe de Mares is all of this with less noise, better prices and a more relaxed atmosphere. I got the flank steak with these incredible mushrooms. My wife got a soba salad which was large enough to feed two and my daughter a huge burgers. We were helped by Peter who had recently moved from Amsterdam and his service was outstanding as were his bar skills. Get the Negroni. It's not traditional but it may make you second guess your desire to even have Campari in your house any longer. I hope this cafe is around when we make it back again because I will happily visit again

Yelp
Touristy and ok food. Service is decent. Still a fun spot to sit at. Good chocolate mousse.

Yelp
We had a delightful dinner here! After a gluttonous few days eating our way through Paris, something decidedly vegetable-focused was in order. Our meal did include chicken, fish, and cheese, but also lots of vegetables and fruits. Pictures are our apertifes and grilled apricots for dessert. I forgot to photograph the salads. The waitress was very conscious of my gluten allergy, and kindly spoke English with me. I hope to return.

Yelp
Tucked away from the main road, this gem of place had excellent food and great service. The ambiance was perfect as we sat outside and enjoyed the delicious cuisine. We plan to return on our next trip to Paris!

Yelp
What a wonderful hidden gem in a sea of touristy restaurants. We had just finished our tour of Versailles and we're starving, and saw this place on the map so we tried it for lunch. Absolutely incredible. We had even more food than this photo but I was so happy eating I forgot to take pics. Don't skip the chocolate cake! Great staff as well and so nice. Would definitely come back here.

Yelp
Looove this place, I was looking for a small and cozy place to eat and have a Glass of wine. And this is perfect! Service and food was great, also close to the eiffel tower ...

Yelp
Let's get this out of the way--I do not like mushrooms. None of them...nope. Big nope. And then someone has the wild idea to pickle some shitake mushrooms in vinegar and put them with steak 'Drunkin Dragon' style (marinated in soy sauce and beer for three days), and just WOW! My head just explodes and I eat a whole plate of steak and mushrooms. And the cat--he just saunters over and gives me this look. He's like "yeah--see, you don't know what you like, do ya?" and he's right. So, that's how dinner went at Cafe de Mars. I wish I'd eaten there every single night of our stay in Paris. So, it's French Asian Fusion, I think. The menu is written on a chalk board and changes daily. I understand the steak is on there pretty often--because it's amazing. I also understand the cat runs the place. The service was friendly and wonderful. Go here. Make the reservation. It is casual fine dining, dress okay. Plan to spend some money but not crazy money. And you will not regret a single dime...wait...pence...no, wait, euro. I can't keep up. I bet the cat does.

Yelp
Modern French cuisine, served with modern friendly French hospitality by the warm lovely waitresses Annie and Marie, in a romantic modern and warmly lit interior. Make a reservation! Our first dinner was so fantastic that we came back here a second time for dinner again. €36-39 will get you a 3 course near fine dining experience, most entrees(appetizers) and desserts are 9€, and most main dishes are €18. -Watercress soup...light, green, fragrant, clean and elegant. -Beet Salad...fresh -Sea Snails...not my thing, but you might like it! I normally do like garlic buttery escargots. -Pork Stew...I never knew pork could taste as amazing as this -Fish...roasted to perfection, served with amazing mushrooms. -Steak...the most popular dish costs an extra €3, and worth it. The mushroom sauces accentuates the juicy tender beef. The delightful and light parsnip mash makes for refreshing change from the greasy "frites". -Caramel Tarte...delicious! -Poached Pear...fresh, sweet, and fruity! As with most Paris cafes, wines are offered at variety of price ranges to suit any budget...and as an American, I find every French wine delicious no matter what price. Bon Apetit!

Yelp
Food and service were stellar. Smaller menu with choices varying in nationality. Would recommend reservations unless going at opening.

Kagee W.

Yelp
The service was very friendly and quick. As an American I am used to a little more salt in my food. But if you looking for a nice, clean, solid place, this is a good choice.
google avatar

Robert T.

Yelp
First place we ate at when we got to Paris! The food is incredible and the service was the best in Paris. Peter our server was a GEM! Can't wait to come back!

Joe G.

Yelp
Good food, good price and just off the beaten path. The beer list was less than desired but the food, service and ambience were first rate
google avatar

Fred B.

Yelp
Good flavors, but slow and inattentive service. This is more of a locals place, and it seemed like their many regulars got a lot better service than we did. Good, but definitely not one of our best meals in Paris.
google avatar

Tom P.

Yelp
I had lunch here with my daughter after visiting the Eiffel Tower. There were many cafes near the tower with a view, but their reviews were marginal. I found Le Cafe de Mars via Yelp and went there based on ratings. It's off the beaten path and we were skeptical but wow are we glad we stopped. I was confused by how simple the menu was. I got the turkey and my daughter got the cod. Sounds plain right? Have a look at the pictures from our meal. The turkey dish was complex yet elegant with its seasoning and the fruity "bbq" with cherries was out of this world. My daughters cod was perfect for a sunny day and had a subtle citrus flavor. They had a deal where you could order either an app and an entree, or, entree plus dessert for a flat 23 Euros. This place is the perfect spot after touring the sites.

Yelp
What a lovely place! Not. Huge menu but great food! The service was good as well. They were training new employees but everyone was very nice and did a good job. They had a brand new menu - the man he go with rosemary honey was SO good! The swordfish and steak were also great.

Harvey L.

Yelp
ambiance, service, food and wine very good. , price reasonable, read prio reviews and agree!
google avatar

Peter M.

Yelp
Food was great and a bit of a departure from standard pub fare but over the top. Wait staff was ridiculously friendly and cool. Great quiet location, the kind of pairisian street corner you want to sit at for hours.
google avatar

Katy T.

Yelp
Very disappointed in my experience. The food was fine. Not my favorite meal in Paris. A family came in with a happy little girl. They didn't speak much English or French, they were Russian, so the Dad tried to ask the waiter a question because he couldn't read the menu. The waiter said, very rudely: "Hey, Sir. We are cooking good food back there. You are going to have to be patient and wait." The waiter stormed off. The family left. Good for them. My husband made a comment that the Fois Gras wasn't good enough to justify that type of arrogance. We had had INCREDIBLE fois gras the night before at Bistrot De Campagne, this couldn't come close. The steak was decent, the swordfish was fair. The goat cheese cake was pretty good. Nothing blew my mind. There are so many good restaurants in Paris, I'm sooo mad I wasted one of my meals on this place. The girl waitress was nice but the man needed to check his attitude at the door. Maybe he was having a bad day? Either way, when your food is mediocre there's no excuse for talking this way. If you're in Paris, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

June C.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. We had the clam chowder which was the best I've ever had. Also the ambiance was relaxed and we even met Moose the cat. A wonderful end to a wonderful day.

Zippy D.

Yelp
Take the 6 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower down this quiet unassuming side street to Cafe de Mars. You will not regret it. Had the best fish of the week in Paris--crispy skinned dorado on a perfectly turned bed of roasted beets and tahini. Genuinely exceptional. And the staff was friendly and funny and low key. Feels like a very "real" place, not lots of tourist bric a brac decor--just a straightforward neighborhood joint that's a marvelous lunch out.

Yelp
I loved Cafe de Mars! We found it on yelp for lunch after taking (lots) of pictures of the Eiffel Tower. Its a short walk from the tourist congested tower, however once you turn down the street the cafe is located on, you'll find a nice quiet stroll where tourists seem to have disappeared (as well as the obnoxious men selling cheap Eiffel Tower statues - ugh!). We were greeted and sat down right away, and brought the menu on a chalkboard, although it was also posted up on the main wall for all to see as well. After struggling a bit with our translation book, the waiter came over and asked if we would like for him to translate the menu for us. Yes please! We shared the mussels (which I think in my menu picture is the one starting with 'Pot marrous aux 5 epices but I'm not sure!) which we both loved! They bring an extra plate for the shells, so we took them all out of the shells to start, and then enjoyed it like a soup. They were smaller than I have seen for mussels before, and had a fennel flavored broth with lots of flavor. For the main course I had the fish (I'm not sure which one on the menu this was) which was amazing! It had a rich creamy sauce that had mustard seeds in it which gave the sauce a nice light crunch and added some texture to it. My husband had the pork (duo de chochon) which was very tender with a mild rosemary flavor to it. Of course its not a meal in France without dessert! I had the goat (cheese) cheesecake topped with blueberries, which was of course delicious! I would highly recommend Cafe de Mars if you are in the area!

Justin R.

Yelp
The owner is amazing and the food is delicious! Highly recommend eating here! I would recommend the house dish Flank Steak.

Yelp
The service was excellent. The food was amazing. The bathroom was a little small but that's irrelevant. The employees were really friendly. The setting of the restaurant was cute and cozy. Overall excellent experience. Really good prices. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
First time in Paris and this was the first meal we had. We came for lunch right when they were opening and the staff was more than welcoming. The service was beyond and the food was DELICIOUS. The menu was written on a board and our server's recommendation for me was the pork and banana/bacon risotto... wow is all I have to say! They also had live music which was so enjoyable. I definitely recommend this restaurant and would love to come again the next time I'm in Paris.

Yelp
Amazing food near the Eiffel Tower. Love the Fois Gras, steamed clams, duck breast and steak.

Yelp
Great place. We took our kids, nervous that they would not like French food. The service was great, and everyone really enjoyed the food an ambience. We would recommend this establishment to anyone, tourists or even locals.

Yelp
Truly a gem find. We've been in Paris a couple of days now and struggled to find the true culinary experience we'd been hoping for, until tonight. The meals were perfect portioned and the flavors were perfection. I'm a super picky fish person and the mackerel with kale was amazing. So many layers of flavors. My husband's beef and mushroom dinner was also pure art. The beef was tender and marinated to perfection. The service was also so incredibly on point. Great job guys. Thank you for the experience.

Justin H.

Yelp
Wow. The swordfish was amazing! So flavorful!! Staff is very nice. Will definitely be back!
