After a long travel day, I strolled the area nearest my hotel to stretch my legs and to grab a quick bite to eat. Walking along the river it was like deja vu seeing Cafe du Monde (Quebec) as I had sipped on coffee at Cafe du Monde (New Orleans, LA) many moons ago. Of course I was drawn to step inside this Quebec establishment. The similarities are they, both, are Parisian-like bistros situated on a river's edge. However, in Quebec the space has that French-twist with attentive, native-speaking staff serving up French classic dishes. Since I was having a quick bite to eat I sat at the bar. It was mid-afternoon and overcast outdoors so it was not crowded. Looking around the place has an easy-going and comfy French bistro vibe suitable for solo diners and families alike. For my quick bite, I had the Argentine Red Shrimp dish with an Aperol-based cocktail (I forgot the French name for it 🤪). The shrimp left a slight spicy feel on the tongue, and the Aperol cocktail was quite refreshing. When I left I walked along the river's edge of the restaurant to appreciate the views those who sit near a window or on the patio would have. What a lovely way to take a break.
