On the Grid : Le café qui parle

"A few steps from Place de Clichy and Abbesses, Le café qui parle could easily be forgotten. But once you're at the table, we feast. Between risotto with bottarga and burger, the desire to finish his plate is there. Dessert with pistachio is excellent." - Julien Ly

Very dice place with great atmosphere without a doubt. Great for breakfast. So far in this trip, the best coffee I have had in Europe. Careful... I haven't got to Italy yet, so the jury is still out on this subject. A tad pricey I have to say, but everything in Paris is pricey... my wife did not care at all for their salad, but the rest is good. I would say, go for the brunch buffet because going a la carte ended up being more expensive although not by much. The staff is actually really nice and courteous.

Went to Le Cafe Qui Parle for lunch with a long time local of the area, mostly because it had good food and “unknown” to the tourists. I was not disappointed with the food indeed. Both Tartare beef and snails were my first time. They both looked and tasted great!

Nice place for a breakfast. Came here for a Sunday brunch, which included: pastries, baguette, jams and spreads, scrambled eggs, soup, green beans, sardines and some more. Pastries were top notch along with the soup. We also chose to take the cheese plate, which included 3 cheeses over arugula and olive oil. The toilets have seen better days and ran out of paper for a while. Coffee is just fine, nothing too exciting.

The Qui Parle is a tiny café in Montmatre with a small but quite versatile menu. This time we were there in a group of four and had the escargots de Bourgogne (snails with lots of garlic!), raviole de Royan a l'huile de truffle (ravioli with cheese and truffle oil) and the soupe a l'oignon (onion soup) as starters. For the main course we took again the raviole with truffle, tartare de boeuf (beef tartare), and the "La belle salad de chevre chaud" (basically salad with lots of cheese and honey etc.). While I personally don't like truffles, the others told me that the ravioli were excellent, as were the snails, the soup, and the cheese salad! Especially the latter was just huge and looked stunning! As for the beef tartare: This was actually one of the reasons why we went there again after having visited in 2017. It was perfect, served with roasted potatoes. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful despite our large knowledge gaps regarding the French language 🫣 As for the furniture and style, it's exactly what you'd expect in a French café and everything including the toilet was tidy and clean 🙂 I think Le Café Qui Parse might be the one restaurant in Paris that will always be on my list when in town!

Wandered in after a long walk up to Basilica Sacre’ Coeur. Delicious chèvre salad and Cote de Rhône. Waitress was wonderful. Recommend.

Google
This restaurant deserves 6/5 ... the place is really super. The service is very friendly, they have a nice menu and the food is high quality and mind blowing tasty. This restaurant is at the top of my list when I am back in Paris. Absolutely recommended!

Yelp
This one might be a shorter review compared to the other ones that I have written. We stopped by here, to go to the restaurant and we decided that since we were there to try their charcuterie board. It wasn't bad, the service was just one woman, but it was pretty slow as I think it seemed like every restaurant was closed because everyone was on holiday. If you want something quick to eat, or just a little snack, put this place on your list.

Yelp
For the win, worth the walk from Sacre Couer. Unique twists on typical French favorites. ++ poached egg and cream of bacon soup with bacon bite. Waow. The creamy savory bites make this a win for a starter. ++ Fois Gras du Canard (Maison) has a delectable fig fruit center, served with toasty savory baguette and drops of vinegar reduction. WOAW. ++ steak slices (ordered "a point", yeah, I know) atop a delectable mushroom purée. ++ Ruinart champagne on the list tonight and it was delightful. Excellent service and a cozy library feel. Great vibe. Don't miss it if you're in the area.

Yelp
It was a nice place to have a quiet lunch. We just got the charcuterie board that we enjoyed.

Yelp
This place is adorable! Very cozy, elegant, and locally owned! The owner was our server and took care of us. He was very charming and polite. The food! The food was amazing. I had the duck and my friend had prime rib. The dessert was delicious and the wine was great and reasonably priced!

Yelp
Nice place but their Nutella crepes are not actually with Nutella but some counterfeit cream

Yelp
Strolling around Montmartre we were looking for some cafe to have lunch in. If you've ever been to Paris you'll know it's no struggle to find a cafe in Montmarte. So it was more of a case of choosing rather than finding. We stumbled upon this bakery- the bread that talks, opposite the cafe that talks, and we thought we fancied hearing what the bread had to say rather than the cafe. Turns out the bread says 'yummy yummy yum yum'. A selection of sandwiches are on offer, and coffee and the likes, so it is a wee sit in cafe with a few tables and chairs, not just a boulangerie. I had a hot dog - these are prolific in Paris and a bit weird. They pre cook them, put them in a baguette, then melt cheese over the top, then leave them cool, then heat them up when you order one. anyway, I had one. It was nice. The real killer though is the cakes. They look like they are made from the dreams of good children. I say 'yummy yummy yum yum.'

Yelp
Great food started off with Khadif de gambas mayo, citron caviar. Very delicious. Then had a ceviche de cabillaud with avocat , mangue as the main dish. And two small biers. I speak bad French but the server was very patient and helpful. After we had a coffee. It was the best experience at any restaurant I've had so far and the location is good . I recommend their seafood part of the menu greatly. The presentation and portions are the perfect size. I loved this place. And recommend it if you are in the area.

Yelp
Had a few LARGE beers here tonight. The staff was very accommodating for newb French speakers. We are going back tomorrow to try the food!

Yelp
Wonderful food and service in a great location at a reasonable price. My wife and I visited for dinner on our first trip and it was so good we made it a point to visit when we came back to Paris. The second visit was for lunch - just as good as our first visit! Will return on our next visit.

Yelp
We found this place completely by accident. We were looking for a coffee and ended up with a lite lunch. The salad with lamb was wonderful. The waitress was very nice and helpful interpreting the menu for us (we speak very little french). Would definitely go back again.

Yelp
It's like they bought packaged food from Dia% and served up on the plates. The worst tourist trap there is. Shame that it got such good reviews in timeout, which I am sure they paid for.

Yelp
Perfect afternoon snack! Situated in residential Montmartre a great place to watch life go by.

Yelp

Yelp
can't believe this place gets recommended ANYWHERE for brunch, but especially in Paris. just looking at the pictures you can tell it's cheap fake charcuterie and cheese, and the viennoiseries just come out of some bag. they don't even try to make the food seem quality. i wish i'd read a review like this before wasting my morning NOT eating the food there.
