We had a wonderful dinner at Le Café on Place des Lices. The setting is both lively and charming — you immediately feel the authentic Saint-Tropez atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel comfortable right away. The combination of good food, friendly service, and the unique vibe of Place des Lices made it a memorable experience. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Saint-Tropez. Highly recommended for families as well as groups of friends who want to enjoy the spirit of the town.

Le Café is a Saint-Tropez staple—and for all the right reasons. From the moment you're seated, the service sparkles with attentive charm, setting the tone for a truly memorable meal. The shredded crab with green apples is a refreshing, refined start, and the oysters? Quite possibly the best on the Riviera. The blue lobster pasta is indulgence on a plate, but it's the pavlova dessert that steals the show—airy, artful, unforgettable! Truly! Add in their signature cocktail L’Envie (worthy of its name), and you have a dining experience that’s effortlessly elegant, yet deeply, deeply satisfying. A must-visit!!!!

Honestly outstanding, not only is the service truly top tier, the food was SO good. I was expecting the food to be alright given it’s a supper club, but wow I’m so impressed. Such a great spot, a must visit in st tropez! Our servers were constantly cleaning our table, and checking in on us, thank you Mano and Gaspard!! 🙏

Beautiful setting but asked for medium rare and the filet was quite rare. No one ever came back after taking my order to see if I was happy with the food. I waited for about 10 minutes to discuss it, but ended up eating it, so couldn’t say much.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Le Café Saint-Tropez — A Disaster in Designer Sunglasses There are tourist traps, and then there’s Le Café Saint-Tropez — the final resting place of taste, dignity, and decent service. The food? Mediocre at best — exactly what you’d expect from a place that survives on geography, not talent. It’s like someone described real cooking to a chef who’s allergic to seasoning and effort. The music? A relentless assault of French pop remixed by someone’s uncle who still thinks he’s “big in Ibiza.” The speakers sounded tired, the playlist sounded drunk, and the vibe was pure purgatory. The crowd? A fascinating blend of wannabe influencers, washed-up yacht guests, and people pretending to enjoy themselves for Instagram. Think “Saint-Tropez chic” as imagined by people who’ve only seen it on reality TV. Service was tolerable — right up until The Tequila Scam. We ordered 5. They billed us for 8. When we refused to pay for their imaginary drinks, the waiter called the “manager” — a man who looked and behaved like he runs a back-alley fight club, not a café. Instead of apologizing, he nearly swung at my friend for daring to question the math. Truly, the spirit of French hospitality lives on! In short: • Food: forgettable. • Music: a war crime. • People: human wallpaper. • Management: unhinged. A perfect microcosm of everything wrong with Saint-Tropez — fake luxury, loud nonsense, and zero soul. Come for the view, stay for the regret.

We had high hopes for Le Café in Saint-Tropez, expecting a memorable culinary experience that matched the prestige and charm of its location. Unfortunately, what we received was an overpriced and underwhelming meal that left us feeling both disappointed and taken advantage of. To begin with, the food was far below what one would expect from a place that carries itself with such apparent sophistication. We ordered the petites sardines, anticipating a fresh, artfully prepared dish. Instead, we were served what was clearly tinned sardines (not mentioned by the menu, we were expecting fried sardines or something of this sort) accompanied by two unfortunate slices of bread and a sad stick of butter. That this meager plate came with a 22€ price tag felt almost like a bad joke. Our second dish, the Carpaccio de Courgettes, was equally unimpressive, if not more so. There was virtually no food on the plate, with more garnish than substance. Certainly not even half a zucchini, let alone something satisfying. It felt more like an aesthetic exercise than an actual dish meant to be eaten. As for the service, while the staff were polite, we still felt somewhat overlooked. There was an overall sense of detachment that did nothing to elevate the experience. For a restaurant that charges such premium prices, a basic level of attentiveness should be a given. In short, Le Café trades on its location and reputation, but offers little in return. The food lacks freshness, creativity, and portion value, and the experience does not justify the exorbitant prices. Saint-Tropez has many wonderful dining options. This is clearly not one of them. We left feeling dissatisfied. Not recommended.

Amazing food. Came for lunch at 12 and it’s completely empty and staff is friendly. The iced lattes, watermelon salad, chicken salad, and truffle ravioli are EXCEPTIONAL. I’m definitely not seeing why this place has 3.5 stars, it’s a 5 star from me.

We had dinner tonight at Le Cafe Saint Tropez with my daughter and left satisfied. A bit later, we returned just to take a quick photo inside, as we hadn’t taken any during our meal and wanted a small memory together. The security at the entrance refused us entry unless we ordered another drink. We explained that we had just dined there, but he insisted and said it was not possible. I found this attitude extremely rude and overly commercial. For a place that caters to tourists, this kind of behavior is unacceptable. Unfortunately, I cannot give a positive rating after this experience.

Yelp
I am deeply offended and disappointed by my experience at le cafe. Considering there is an active war and genocide taking place in Gaza- it was incredibly disrespectful and insensitive for them to play multiple Israeli songs, completely ignoring how offensive and hurtful that is especially to any Palestinians and Arabs dining there. Playing Israeli songs during this time makes it political. A restaurant is supposed to be a place to enjoy good food and relax, not somewhere that pushes political statements or stirs up pain for certain communities. It was shocking to see such a blatant lack of awareness and basic respect. I will not be returning, and I would caution anyone who values decency and sensitivity against supporting a place that shows so little consideration for their guests.

Yelp
We were visiting Saint Tropez and we had reservations for 7. First of all this restaurant is beautiful. However, the service was terrible. 1st they sat us in the corner and 1/2 of our party was being scorched by the sun with plenty of open tables inside or under cover. It was excruciating. The food was good but almost all the dishes came with French fry's with no sauce even though we asked for sauce. I orders a steak medium rate and it came out somewhere between medium and medium well. This was not close to as good as an average steakhouse in the US. Then we asked for them to break up the check and the waitress said, "Absolutely not, you can do that yourself on your side." Seriously? What a joke. Stereotypical for a French Resteraunt. This types of establishments are the reason they have such a bad reputation for being rude.

Yelp
Bastante ocupado, reservación si es que quieres entrar. Todo muy bien, buen ambiente Visitamos el lugar en nuestras vacaciones You must reserve otherwise they will give you some time to eat and they will ask you to leave when your time is done A place to go while you're in Saint Tropez Recommend

Yelp
Food and service were excellent. Sea bass was best she ever had. Atmosphere was tremendous with live music during dinner. Plan ahead with reservation, numerous turned away at the door.

Yelp
Situated on the Place des Lices in St Tropez's centre, Le Cafe is always buzzy, is open all year and is a favourite haunt of locals (a good sign in a town that has too many over-priced restaurants). The bar inside has a real French atmosphere and the restaurant has a large covered section and an open-air section, both of which look out onto the square where, on a summer's evening, you can watch the boules players. Prices are reasonable given its position and unless the town's busy you don't need to book. The food's good and there are fixed price three course menus - a full meal including wine, water & coffee works out at about EUR60 a head, depending on what you choose. One of the best mid price restaurants in St Tropez.

Yelp
Disclaimer: My family and I were only in St. Tropez for a day trip, and actually had no intention of eating at a restaurant. However, plans don't always work out and the day was pouring rain. We tried to do a small tour of the city center, but eventually had to duck out of wetness and picked the busiest looking eating establishment. It was nice to be in real French environment. The menu was a little on the pricey side, so we ordered a couple appetizers and an entree to share between 3 people. We had the grilled eggplant and zucchini, the tempura-fried zucchini flowers, and the pesto ravioli. Both the ravioli and grilled eggplant were drenched in olive oil, which made me feel like I was eating spoonfuls of it. The very French waiter recommended the fried zucchini flowers which we absolutely loved, but when I complimented him, his response was off-putting and is mostly why my rating of Le Cafe is docked down. We also mentioned that we were on a timetable, and requested the check multiple times before actually receiving it.

Yelp
This is your typical French cafe. Indoor/outdoor seating, small tables and chairs. The cafe overlooks the center place of St. Tropez and is in the middle of everything. I came here for an early lunch and I was not let down. The food is average French and the menu is quite extensive. The service was great and very nice people work here. I had a chicken club sandwich and it wasn't bad at all. If you are American, beware. They put hard boiled eggs and load it with mayo! When in Rome I guess. I suggest coming here for a quick bite. I'm sure they are slammed for dinner. It seems very popular.

Yelp
Most bizarre place. After 10 minutes of being ignored I got up and got us menus. That seemed to bestir the bald headed waiter, who took our drink orders. Then the owner/manager came by and said "You're from LA!" which we are not. However, that seemed to set the tone for our service. Two of our four food orders came in 25 minutes but after a hour had gone by two of us were still waiting. The manager was indifferent to Joanne's complaint. Either they hate Americans at LeCafe or they hate everyone. In any event, my sole was very good but not worth the heartburn. Go somewhere else for lunch!
