"Dinner cruises on the Seine have been on the Parisian visitor'sbucket list since they were first introduced. Some of the modern boats lack charm, and the expensive food they serve is often less than stellar, two developments thatthreaten to give the tradition a bad name. Le Calife , a 1939 wooden barge full of nautical brass, is a glamorous exception. The boat cruises the river twice a day on two-hour itineraries and servesa light and creative menu with inspired vegetarian options for each course. Aglass-enclosed dining deckprovides a clear view of the city, regardless of the weather."

The lunch tour was decent on a nice summer day. You get to have a unique view of all the sites without walking too much and having a 4 star meal to go with it. We got a bottle of champagne to start and the service was top notch. I would recommend this tour for first timers in Paris. Quality to value ratio is more than fair. Will come back for the dinner cruise on our next visit!

Google
This was such a great experience! The food was fantastic and the cruise was such a great way to see Paris. We originally wanted to go during the night, but ended up going during the day and believe this was the better option. You get to see everything and enjoy a great menu of food. We were in Paris for only a couple days and this really helped to see a lot and get great French cuisine in a short amount of time. Definitely recommend going!!

My wife and I visited in early July with our three kids, (18, 16, 14). I would not recommend for young children unless they are able to sit still for three hours. We were blessed with clear skies for dinner as it had rained most of the day. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We arrived at 745pm per the reservation instructions and were about 8th in line to be seated. They seat groups one at a time due to the boats limited spaces. Boarding was quick and the greeters very friendly chatting with guests in both English and French. Our dinner service was excellent and the food was delicious. The menu has options for vegetarians. Highly recommend the dinner cruise as it times perfectly with the lighting of the Eiffel Tower in the evening. Over all a wonderful way to end our first day in Paris.

Google
10/10, one of the highlights of our Paris visit. The food was impeccable, the service was wonderful, and we had a really lovely time overall. I'm pregnant and couldn't drink and the staff accommodated this for me with ease! Highly recommend to anyone!

Google
Beautifully presented restaurant, nice ambiance and friendly, attentive staff. Food was plentiful & delicious. The views from the boat (veranda section) were spectacular with timing for Eiffel Tower twinkle precise. This was a memorable experience & highlight of our Paris trip & would highly recommend.

Google
The evening of our dinner cruise they must have been short handed. As a result the food may have been delayed and was not served as hot as it should have been. Aside from that, the food was very good. The staff did there best to be attentive and responsive. The cruise itself was great - seeing all the ironic landmarks from this boutique style boat was perfect. I would certainly recommend.

Google
It was a lovely smooth ride up and down the Seine with perfect timing to see the Eiffel Tower in full sparkly mode. The food was fabulous, I had the entree of scallops, main was lamb and lemon cheesecake for desert! The service was so smooth, you didn’t even know they were there. We were greeted with a glass of champagne and then a captains choice bottle of wine. The friendly people around us made the night so much better. Had a great night, would recommend!

Google
We traveled from Alaska for our EuroHoneymoon trip and Le Calife in Paris was one of our stops. I can't stress enough how incredibly magical this dinner was, especially for couples. The food was beyond what we expected. My wife had a pork shoulder that was to die for. The wine pairing was on point (and that's coming from two wine connoisseurs). I 100% recommend this to anyone looking to have a nice, romantic dinner on the Seine and having incredible views of the Eiffel. Book it now!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of taking this cruise twice during a recent trip to Paris. The food was good, the service was excellent, and the boat was cozy and warm on a very cold day. The ambiance was perfect, with soft music playing throughout the cruise and a friendly mix of people from many countries. Really felt like it was a good experience for the price.

Yelp
It was suppose to be one of the highlights of our trip. It was prob the lowest. By lowest, they sat us in the worst location on the boat. Completely facing a blocked wall. It had painted glass but really should have been clear glass for a dinner cruise boat. The food was 3/5. Few hits and misses. Cocktail- good. Alcohol and non were both good. The non alcohol was a raspberry smoothie or something. The waiter could not tell us what they were though. Cheese bread app- similar to Brazilian cheese bread- good Apps: pate came with sweet shallot chutney and gingerbread. The gingerbread did not complement the pate and was super hard. I feared it would crack a tooth. The accompanying jam was okay. Very sweet. The smoked salmon was iffy. Needed some capers or something else. Not sure if the salmon was even fresh. The meal: sea bass was good. The celery puree was sweet and not good. The duck confit was very good and moist with a good mushroom sauce. Dessert: iced nougat- not good at all Lava Choco cake- very good. Overall the experience was not worth the cost. It is an older crowd so we did not fit in well. Our seating was the worst on the boat. The boat had too many blind spots. It had a lot of wood structure vs other boats having more glass windows. Music was relative quiet and boring. We chose this due to reviews of the food being great, we were underwhelmed. Two stars for half of the food was okay to good. The atmosphere 1 star.

Yelp
It was a cold and drizzly Saturday (Samedi) evening when we crossed Pont des Arts after exiting the Louvre metro station and descended the old world stone stairs to the Seine riverside walk and across the ship's gangway into the warm and inviting veranda where our white linen table awaited us. If you're looking to make romantic memories with your sweetheart, this will do, donkey... this will do. For 149 Euros per person, we received the Menu Royal boissons comprises experience, which started our with a welcoming glass of champagne and these delightful small balls of cheesy bread as we perused our special menu. For appetizers, my sweetheart chose the Grilled prawns with gomasio, with a yuzu avocado and mango cream... a good choice if you're ready to get your fingers dirty. I went with the Puff pastry of chanterelles with foie gras and morel sauce... a good choice if you like mushroom. We both ordered the same entree, Beef fillet à la Rossini, which is a Rossini sauce, pan-seared foie gras, gratin dauphinois, with seasonal vegetables. We ordered it medium, but it came how they wanted to cook it, which was between a rare and medium rare. The included bottle of Domaine Perreal Le Jas, a French shiraz, paired well with everything! And for dessert, we enjoyed the chocolate lava cake, dizzled with a custard my shizzle, and lined with a vanilla ice cream from Madagascar. We also had a Revisited tarte tatin with a measure of Calvados. Yes, the food was a great experience, but the ambiance was so much more. Seeing the sparkling iron lady from our seats in a Seine waterway vessel was surreal, and we will always be grateful for our blessings. Thank you, Le Calife.

Yelp
La calife was a very memorable experience! Between floating on the Seine and "our welcome glasses of champagne, we also purchased the a wine option which includes a bottle of wine for per 2 people. The Foie Gras puffed pastry appetizer, and duck liver with ginger crackers were wonderful. The main dish of steak with the Foi Gras and potatoes was very delicious with a side of sauce. The lamb shank was tender and flavorful. We greatly enjoyed the desserts of calvados tart and the lemon cheesecake. Sightseeing on the seine was also wonderful. We especially enjoyed seeing the Eiffel tower twinkling at us in the night. All in all a wonderful evening

Yelp
We were pre warned about over priced mediocre dinner cruises except for this one which came highly recommended. So glad we did. We were wait listed but they were able to accommodate us and was a perfect evening. The boat has great ambiance and we were greeted with a glass of champagne. Had the prawn and foie gras appetizers which were delicious. As the boat drifted down the Seine we shared a great bottle of burgundy and we selected the lamb and duck confit for entrees. While desert was served we passed the Eiffel Tower which started to glitter and was the perfect final meal of our trip. Price was fair for all you get. Only critiques I can give was the service was a little lacking and the girl at the table next to us got drunk and passed out in her chair. Since it's hard to say Au revoir, let's just say Au gratin.

Yelp
If you are looking for a most memorable dining experience look no further than Le Calife. This was an incredible experience. Dining 5 stars while cruising the Seine at night with all Paris alit at Christmas time and to put the icing on the cake as we turned and approached the Eiffel Tower it began to Sparkle. What perfect timing. The menu Royal offers great choices and everything on the menu is presented beautifully and tastes excellent. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. The cruise part is very comfortable and goes at a nice slow pace. You are never rushed. The entire time lasted almost 3 hours.

Yelp
They canceled without any notice! It was my birthday and I paid for an Uber to the location only to find it dark. One irritated man onboard told me it was closed. They could have at least emailed or called. I see on TripAdvisor that they've done this to others as well.

Yelp
This is a once in a lifetime diner cruise experience you do not want miss if you are visiting Paris. The food is absolutely amazing and the beauty of seeing so many of the famous landmarks lighting at night was fantastic. The staff and service are five star. My wife and I have been on other dinner cruises and this one is the absolute best!
google avatar

Denere P.

Yelp
Food and service was impeccable. They did forget to celebrate my birthday although there was about 7 other celebrations right near me. They lost a star for not giving a discount when they switched ships and routes due to the high level of the Seine. It would have just felt a little better going on a ship I didn't choose. Overall a great experience that you should do if you're looking to celebrate in Paris. Boat was nice but be aware if you end up on the clipper, I would request a table at the window for even better views.

Yelp
This meal was incredible. Each course of the menu royal was perfect and it was everything we could have asked for and more. The service was impeccable and the experience on the seine was amazing. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Experience: 5/5 - This was a lovely dinner cruise, the boat was covered in glass windows, so every seat had a beautiful view of the river at all times. The staff was kind and welcoming. Also, the dinner ride is perfectly lined up with seeing the eiffel tower sparkle, making it a truly magical evening. Food: 3/5 - The cruise has two menus, both with a drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert, but one menu had an extra drink and a larger menu selection. We went with the cheaper of the two, as the other would cost us about $125 more, which didn't seem justifiable. For appetizers, we got foie gras and salmon gravlax, neither or which we enjoyed- to be fair we've never had foie gras, so not sure if we'd like it anywhere. The salmon was fine, but the sauce/ cheese with it was not great. For mains, we got the sea bass and yellow chicken supreme. The chicken was excellent- the highlight of the night! The bass was average, nothing special. For dessert, we got the iced nougat and the Moelleux au chocolate, both were delicious!

Yelp
A lot of the elements of this Seine River dinner cruise have been covered but I will add a few details. The Royal menu is the upgraded menu included a bottle of wine (white or red, but variety of each is chef's choice), and more menu options. It seems best for meat eaters to be honest. There was a vegetarian course for each part of the dinner (salad for first course, grains and roasted veggies for entree for our day). The staff were very attentive and nice. The view is beautiful of course. We sat on the top level of the boat which was lovely. There are three levels of diners on the boat. We went past Notre Dame and turned around to the Eiffel Tower, turning back around at a smaller version of the Statue of Liberty. There is a small bathroom on the boat. All in all a very lovely and memorable night!

Yelp
An evening dinner on a beautiful ship on the Seine viewing Paris at night? Five stars period. No discussion. What an evening! Exquisitely prepared staters. Filet mignon in entree perfectly medium rare. Wine and champagne were on point. Dessert was, mercifully, not large given the meal that preceded it. Exceptional. Late in the meal I stepped out to the deck. I watched as we quietly moved by the Louvre on my left, the Eiffel Tower to my right. Stunning. Breathtaking. A memory I will never forget; as I will not forget the Calife. We will return!

Yelp
Unfortunately our experience was unforgettable in a bad way due to terrible hospitality. The food was very good so that is where they are able to get any stars. Around 9:20, we suddenly smelled fuel and began moving backwards after turning. We assumed the captain was trying to angle correctly for the bridge, but then we stopped moving and soon saw police boats. We asked a staff member what was going on and he tried to sell us a story that there was bad traffic and we had to wait. This clearly was untrue as plenty of other cruises were passing us. We were not too bothered initially, but after 30 minutes of waiting and no announcement, additional police and paramedics had arrived. My sister went to investigate and finally was able to find out from a responder that one of the propellers had hit the riverbank and gotten stuck. They had to call multiple tows before finding one that could help us. Over an hour later (still with no truthful explanation or communication from Le Calife), we were on our way with a police escort. Within 10 minutes we found ourselves docked. We never went north of the dock, where the Eiffel Tower and other main monuments and sights are. I understand issues happen, but the lack of communication was absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. Even our server didn't know we weren't continuing our journey as she was still taking drink orders while we were approaching to dock. We didn't even get the choice of tea or latte to end as advertised on the menu. When she brought the patron to our right his drink, he said he didn't want it anymore because we had docked and she was genuinely shocked. We also never received our bottle of wine (as advertised on the Menu Royale) due to the disruptions. She said she would find out what was going on. Soon the man who said traffic was the issue came by with checks (we hadn't even ordered anything extra and it's a prepaid dinner). We said we didn't order anything but he insisted we did and said they were covering it for us like they did us some kind of service? We then realized it wasn't even the correct receipt and were shepherded off the boat. Terrible experience due to an understandable accident being handled in the absolute worst, most unprofessional way possible.

Yelp
I sailed the Seine River on my birthday (10/05/2023) on Le Calife. Everything was perfect... the weather, the food, the service. It was just beautiful. Thank you for an outstanding experience!

Yelp
Everything about this lovely vintage dinner boat is amazing !! I have been on the Calife many times with friends and family . All always requests to do it again . The tour , food , views , decor & service is amazing ( Alexander was this visit server ) . It was even fun for my French friends to enjoy views they never saw living in Paris . You can not go wrong with this treat in life .

Yelp
Spent my last night in Paris on this amazing dinner cruise and it was worth every penny. My mom and I had the best girls trip and ending it on this beautiful boat with amazing food, drinks and the best views of the city was the highlight to our trip. The service was outstanding. Every detail of this dinner cruise is meticulously thought out. I have recommended to so many people and they all had the same experience. We even got to see a couple sitting next to us get engaged. It was a magical evening!

Yelp
We spent last week in Paris. We had a wonderful time and were very much looking forward to this cruise. It was a splurge but we figured how often do you get to do a seine river cruise. Boy were we let down. Right from the jump, we got a call that afternoon that the seine was too high and that our boat, location and destination were all changed. We decided to do it anyway. The other boat, The clipper, is not near as nice or as charming, and had tv fireplaces for crying out loud. No live music, and disembarks from a bad part of town. The food i had was fine. It's a pre-fix menu. I had far better cafe meals for a third of the price. Dinner cruises have that reputation already, this was on par with carnival cruise line cuisine. By far the biggest disappointment is the wait staff. They were inattentive at best, and just plain disorganized. We had to wave them down to order drinks, to ask for bread, to bring us butter. They just completely ignored our table. Save your money. I paid for for a charming boat through charming Paris, I got a cheap knockoff version of that for full price.

Yelp
Nice experience, we did the last evening dinner cruise which you arrive at 8pm and depart at about 8:30-8:45. It's good for a romantic evening. But the food does come out slow since it is timed to go along with the 2 hour boat ride. Which can be tough if you're not accustomed to sitting for so long. The tables are set rather close together, and our cruise was fully booked. The boat itself is older but has a classic charm to it, and the beautiful glass ceiling wasn't something that I say on other dinner boats that we passed by. So I was quite happy with my choice. The food is more traditional French cuisine. Most of it is done well, although I did feel that the greens were undercooked and under seasoned. The table bread was really tough as well. Anyways, onto the actual food. For starters, we had the roast vegetable salad and the morel mushrooms in puff pastry with foigras and cream sauce. My wife felt that the salad was underwhelming, but I thought that the mushrooms in pastry was enjoyable. One of the things that I appreciate about being in Paris is that foigras is not some rare luxury here but a common ingredient. So, the generous portions is something that allows you to truly enjoy how delicious it is. For mains we had the fish and lamb shank. The fish is simple and elegant, nothing really objectionable about it and it came with whipped potatoes that were oddly on the sweeter side. My lamb shank was quite meaty and tender. The broccolini was under cooked but the potatoes were good and well seasoned. For dessert we had the fruit salad and chocolate fondant cake. Both were average, the ice cream that came with the chocolate fondant wasn't even served in a proper French quenelle. Which I know I'm being picky but I was a little disappointed in it. The fondant itself was unfortunately not any different than a fondant that I could microwave from Costco. And the fruit salad was a simple fruit salad served in a bowl with a sweet syrup. The cut on the fruit was like something you could get at a cafeteria fruit salad. The dinner ended with a mint tea served in a gaudy shoot glass? I suppose that it was intended as a digestive? But it just came off quite odd. Overall the service was regimented and timed to a specific cadence that I believe the crew staff is quite accustomed to. It was a good overall experience, but I guess you don't really come for the food. But more the experience.

Alexandra R.

Yelp
Incredible experience that I would highly recommend. Food was delicious, the views on the dinner cruise were excellent, and the service was top notch. It started raining hard at the end of our cruise and Le Calife allowed passengers to stay onboard to wait out the rain while being treated to another glass of wine on the house. Loved our time here and will definitely return on our next trip.

Gwendolyn H.

Yelp
Best dinner cruise on the Seine. Intimate, upscale, impeccable service. Nice options on menu and the wine choices were excellent!

Yelp
Fabulous food! Beautiful views on an elegant boat! Friendly waiters! I highly recommend Le Calife for a wonderful dinner. We did on our last night and we were mesmerized by the twinkling Eiffel Tower sparkle show at 10pm. I opted for the less expensive menu and my honey cheese salad, beef and warm apple tart were delicious and I was very satisfied. My husband had the more expensive menu (around 109 euros) because he liked a main filet mignonette course that included a nice piece of foie gras. Unless something is jumping out at you on the more expensive menu, the 67 euro version was perfect and had lots of food. The kids meal was about half the price as mine and they ordered the same appetizer and main course with smaller portions.

Yelp
Cancels reservations without notice. Don't book. Their reservation system is run by morons. Booked it twice and had it cancelled both times for "private events" with no notice.

Yelp
on board at 7PM still no service at 8:30. Boat is very stuffy. So far I would not recommend this Seine River Boat Dinner Cruise. I see there are very good reviews, not sure what they see on Le Calife, I call it as I see it.

Yelp
This was so disappointing. We paid a small fortune for the dinner cruise for our party of 9 people. We boarded at 8 and were the first table seated, and after a while it became apparent that no waitstaff was assigned to our table. After multiple requests, we finally got water delivered to our table at 9. After more begging, drinks arrived at 9:15. We brought kids with us and they were falling apart due to lack of food and drink. We watched every other table get their drinks and finish their meals before we even got water. Our youngest is a picky eater and we asked if we could decline her prix fix menu and just have a small plate of cheese for her instead and were told no, the cheese plate would cost extra. The food when it finally arrived was ok, but not great. The boat was beautiful, and this could have been a really special experience but it was just completely frustrating. Any other restaurant would have apologized and maybe comped a couple drinks. But instead we were presented with a bill for all of our meals even though we had prepaid. That took forever to sort out as well, and of course, no apology. I would not recommend this experience ro anyone.

Yelp
My husband, in-laws, and I cruised with Le Calife for dinner last week, and it exceeded our expectations. Boarding, check-in, and seating was easy. We selected the Menu Royale on the terrace level with drinks included. It was a warm evening, so the top was opened. Service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Seeing Paris at night from the boat (including the twinkling Eiffel Tower at the top of the hour) was a great experience. It's not inexpensive, but well worth the price for a special dinner and experience.

Yelp
My wife and I chose this as our last dinner in Paris, and I'm so glad we did. It was a magical evening. The boat itself is beautiful -- one of the rooms is glass-walled, while the other one is a bit fancier and more traditionally "French." We chose the glass room and I'm glad we did, as the views were incredible. There's also an open-air deck, where you can go have a drink and take pictures. The 2-hour cruise around the Seine took us right by all the main sights near the river, but it also took us to parts of town we hadn't seen, which was great. Of course, they timed it perfectly so we'd go right by the Eiffel Tower as it began to sparkle. Magic. The food itself is great, too. You can choose a 3- or 4-course meal, depending on your appetite and the size of your wallet (this place is not cheap!). I had an avocado-mango salad, filet mignon, and creme brulee. All were excellent. My wife let me have some of her cheese (that was the extra course on the 4-course meal) and a bit of her tiramisu, and both were great too. Having dinner on Le Calife will make you not want to ever leave Paris.

Yelp
Sailing down the Seine River while the sun descends from the sky, surrounded by the beautiful architecture of Paris, getting served a phenomenal 3 course meal, and then to top it off watching the Eiffel Tower in all its glory twinkle for 5 breathtaking minutes. That was my amazing birthday dinner wrapped up in a nut shell, and I will relive this experience again and again. Firstly the boat is gorgeous. From the glass ceiling to the beautifully polished wood throughout its breathtaking in the daylight, and even more so when the sun sets and they light the candles making the scene seem so much more romantic and intimate. You board the boat and they offer you a complimentary glass of champagne and puff pastries while you wait for the others to board. Once you set sail the waiters come around and take your order. There's two menus one more expensive option (108€) and the lesser one (67€). I had the cheaper option while my boyfriend had the more expensive one. We both were satisfied with our meals. It was mine and multiple other guests birthdays that night so when dessert came around we each had sparklers in our dessert which was a nice surprise. The menu changes based on season and availability of ingredients. All three courses were delectable and one of the best dining experiences we had during our stay in Paris. There are multiple dinner boat cruises vying for your attention and I too was in the same boat (bad pun sorry) trying to choose the best option. My first reason choosing this cruise was that every seat is a window seat. A few cruises make you pay a premium for a window seat on top of paying for your meal. Next, the pictures of the boat are gorgeous and romantic. I was looking for an intimate romantic setting for my dinner. And lastly the reviews of the food were the best that I came across. Do take this cruise and enjoy a splendid meal while in Paris. It might just become the highlight of your trip.

Yelp
What an amazing way to end off our honeymoon in Paris! A coworker had just went and recommended this experience. I reserved online and then called in to put our deposit down. They then sent instructions on how to find the dock and were very punctual and polite. My husband and I tried the 67 euro menu and were very pleased. The staff were nice and had put sparklers on our dessert to congratulate us! The food was amazing and the view was even better! As the boat is more smaller and intimate, you always have a view of the Seine River as there are no tables in the middle. Would definitely commend!

Yelp
I had read the Yelp reviews and jumped on board :) Reservations were easy as long as you followed directions and boat was easily found. Staff was welcoming and service was great. There are two menus to choose from one slightly more expensive than the other and your table can opt for either individually. All meals start with a glass of champagne and a small bite --I had a cheese puff that was like a profiteroles without filling. The appetizer was good, the entree absolutely delicious (roasted lamb) and the cheese and dessert course tasty as well. But the star of the night is the Eiffel Tower. Just as you pass by, it begins twinkling. Uh-mazing! Worth the meal and the river cruise.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at Le Calife. It was my and my friend's first time in Paris (in Europe, for that matter) and I booked a nice little dinner cruise for us to take in the beauty of Paris. It was our first night in Paris. I was able to go through the online reservation and put my name in. A few weeks later, I had to call to give them my credit card for a deposit. They gave specific directions to locate the boat. It was harder for us to find the stairs to get down to the dock :D We had a wonderful meal. We went for the higher priced meal because we're already in that part of the world, why not go all out? I did not regret this choice one bit. I had the foie gras for a starter, the steak for the main course, and the apple crisp with caramel. I liked the steak. The foie gras was just ok for me and the apple crisp, I wish the ice cream came in a bowl on the side because the ice cream started to melt and it made the bottom of the apple crisp not so crispy. The timing of the cruise was perfect. We got to see the Eiffel tower light up and got some great pictures. The weather was absolutely perfect. All I was worried about was getting my champagne and getting bit by a spider that was lingering in and out our window.

Yelp
Wonderfully smooth dinner cruise. Food and drink were exceptionally, as was the sight seeing. Two inclusive menu's with different price points to choose from. Service was on point and very friendly. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I'm not one to mix a boat ride with dinner that often. Typically you give something up. Food quality, service, something. My wife and I were in paris one more night and we decided to end it with a dinner cruise in the Seine. After a great deal of research we chose Le Calife and am I glad we did. You can find many dinner cruises on the Seine and we saw a bunch as we were cruising down the river but you won't find this quaint, charming and outstanding as this one. It's an older vessel that simply drips of charm and old world. Most you see are modern and larger. Let's break it down: Atmosphere 5 stars - we had our own private table looking out on the shore. Perfect views with white table cloth and fresh flowers. Even an old style lamp outside the window. The boat had maybe 40 guests but it did not seem at all crowded. It was open air on the top and even though it was a steamy summer evening it did not feel it. For old style class and feel, this is the best in the city. Service 5 stars - we were waited on by two gentlemen who took our drinks and attended to our every need. Simply have no compliments or issues. They spoke good English and made us feel very welcomed. Food 4.5 stars - not what i expected from a dinner cruise. Much better. I had the lamb shoulder which was some of the best I've ever had. The french know how to cook lamb! Wife had the sea bass which was perfectly seared. Deserts were of french quality however not as creative as you would find in a top quality french restaurant. Overall very solid boat or no boat. Value 5 stars - total check was 250 euros. I ordered from the more expensive selection which was 40 euro more. Also we had at least 5 drinks. When you add the great 2 hour cruise on the Seine capped off by the Eiffel Tower, there was no better way to wrap up this trip. There are many dinner cruises to choose from but only one that is this good!

Yelp
Lovely dinner cruise for a romantic evening. The food was good, if a bit expensive, but what made the evening worth it was the candlelit dinner on the Seine. Beautiful views of Paris, including arriving at the Eiffel Tower just as the light show goes off. Highly recommended for an evening with a significant other.

Yelp
Book this cruise!!! We had a Romantic dinner cruise. We looked at so many boats and even moved our schedule around to go on this one. We are so glad we did. The food was good enough but the boat itself was amazing! The other boats we saw on the water that night looked cheap, tacky and like a 90's casinos. This boat is totally classy and romantic. Every table is at a window no second or third rows. The captain timed it perfectly pulling up too the Eiffel tower right as the lights started sparkling. You can get up and go outside on the top deck and take pictures with the tower behind you. My wife and I will ride again on a future visit.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place better, but we had a terrible dining experience. Granted, I don't speak French. I can't even fake a bad French accent. But given the number of tourists that come here, I'd expect the service to have been better. We ended having to ask for things multiple times (such as water or butter for bread). Seemed like we were largely being ignored. Sadly, I didn't think the food quality was very good either. At least the location is convenient.

Yelp
We decided taking a tour on the Seine via boat was a must when in Paris and why not do it with a meal! After reading MANY reviews, we decided to go with Le Calife. It definitely lived up to the hype. We were greeted and escorted to our table immediately upon arrival. We decided to go with the more expensive menu. I ordered the duck and it was cooked to perfection. If you decide to go with the cheaper menu option though, you will not be disappointed. The table next to us went with that option and all of their food looked fantastic. Our waitress took great care of us. Even offered to bring other drink for us when she realized we only took a sip of our champagne (I'm pregnant and my husband doesn't drink bubbly...). As for the actual boat ride, it was a nice and relaxing smooth ride. Like other reviewers have mentioned, they time going in front of the Eiffel Tower when it sparkles perfectly and turn around to give ample opportunity for pictures. This was definitely our favorite thing we did during our week stay in Paris. If you're looking to do a boat tour, look no further. This was worth every penny.

Yelp
Amazing experience! Don't hesitant to book. Our favorite dinner experience during our stay in Paris. The food is amazing and the boat is nice and charming.

Yelp
This was supposed to be the highlight of our trip, the reviews were great and we were ready. But this ship went south before it even left the dock. The host tried to sit us all the way in the back where there was DUCT TAPE on the windows, maybe he though these young and naïve kids will fall for it, but there should not be a table where they tried to sit us. After talking to the waiter a couple of times (he lied and said the ship was full because he didn't want to move us) they moved us to the seat we deserved and paid for. Champagne to start and it was very nice. The bread was not fresh, maybe a day old. Don't get the goat cheese salad, it is bad, those textures do not mix. The steak deserves an award, *drumroll* THOUGHEST STEAK IN PARIS OR MAYBE THE WORLD, I am not exaggerating it can pass for chewing gum. The ginea fowl was alright but the apples that come with it make it pretty good. Stay away form the frozen nougat dessert, it resembles a failed culinary experiment.

Yelp
Are you kidding me. If I could eat here every night I would!!!! My birthday was unforgettable. The ride was nice and smooth the service was above and beyond. I felt like I was the only one being served. You don't even know your on a boat the ride was so smooth. This was the highlight of my whole trip!!!! Food just melted in your mouth popped with so much flavor. Yessssss

Yelp
One of the top 3 things we did in Paris! Booking was easy. We had a table inside by the big picture windows which was nice because we had bigger tables than those on the terraces and weren't sitting side by side with your neighbor. Amazing service and food was delicious. We both had the steak and I want the recipe for the cheese puffs we had with our complimentary champagne! We purchased a bottle of wine with the 67 euro dinner so all in all with tip it was about 200 euro and worth every penny. The smaller menu is more than enough food. We got to the Eiffel Tower just as it started sparkling and I got amazing video & pics. I loved the intimacy of this boat and that the meals are cooked onboard and not pre-cooked elsewhere. A must do experience.

Yelp
BEST night ever! But I may be a little biased as this is the evening the BF proposed Walking along the Seine to get to Le Calife, we see large dinner boats & I'm thinking, hmm, interesting. But the BF did his research well! Le Calife is a smaller, more intimate boat that also happens to tout an incredible chef We had their Veggie Gastronomique Menu & couldn't have been more impressed Started out w/ the most delish Goat Cheese Tart Salad w/ these 2 pockets of goat cheese enveloped in a tender flaky crust & joined by the tenderest greens. This goat cheese was smooth & very gooey - not tart like the chevre we are used to. Lots of stringy pulls as we cut into the pastry. Baby greens to pair with the dish & this was just outstanding Main Dish for us both included a Coconut Curry w/ a Thai spin - instead of rice or noodles, it was served w/ a lovely quinoa - all in a green curry sauce w/ ginger, tofu, carrots & pea pods The quinoa nicely soaked up the sauce to kick up the flavor level & the nuttiness of the grain really added something to the already delish dish - not spicy but extremely flavorful As we're dining, the lights are out except for decorative running lamps & string lights to give it a very festive yet romantic ambiance. We glide along the Seine, seeing all kinds of monumental landmarks Perfect timing has us hitting la Tour Eiffel *right* as it goes into its " twinkly light " mode. The tower is lit all night but it goes into the special " twinkly mode " only at a certain time & for a few minutes. It was right after the magic of seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkle for us that BF popped the question AND as if it couldn't get any better, out comes dessert. Molten Chocolate Cake for me - with the perfect crunch on the outside & nice & oozing on the inside. The chocolate was dark & intense but not too rich. Perfection! BF had the Profiteroles & loved them but preferred my cake ( I made a rare exception & shared dessert ) I would highly recommend an evening on the Seine w/ Le Calife - you're be well fed, wonderfully amazed, and completely mesmerized

Yelp
My husband and I booked the LeCalife based on recommendations from friends. We choose the 3 course meal- I started with the gravlax salmon and my husband had the warm goat cheese. The warm goat cheese was delicious. We both had the steak which was very good and for dessert he had the creme brulee and I had the Apple crisp- both were delicious. I would highly recommend this dinner cruise, it takes you up the Seine and you get to see beautiful sights, timed perfectly you'll end up at the Eiffel Tower in time for it to sparkle. A couple of recommendation I have is all to sit in the enclosed section. I requested the open top section, hoping it would be a beautiful night but alas it wasn't meant to be. It is covered, (not enclosed) but it was cold. They supply you with blankets for your legs, but it was quite chilly. Another is to get the early, it isn't the easiest place to find and traffic is brutal. Book this on advance so you don't miss out, you won't regret it!!

Yelp
Absolutely one of the highlights of my trip! Le Calife dinner cruise was a delightfully memorable event because of the elegant rhythm of the service, the sumptuous menu, and the expert timing of the boats tour of the Seine. Phuntsok and the rest of the staff were very cordial and their service was exceptional. They start you off with a glass of champagne and an amuse bouche. Even as I accidentally spilt my champagne, they replaced my glass and cleaned everything up without making me feel bad. Phuntsok's service was very smooth and seemed effortless. The menu had lots to choose from, and they happily provided English menus. Everything I ordered was so delicious, from the melting foie gras in puff pastry, to the perfectly cook scallops with herb butter sauce, and the apple tart with a calvados shot. The views from this intimate boat was the show stopper! Something everything ought to experience at least once when visiting the City of Lights! We embarked with champagne at sunset when the surrounding buildings and bridges had a soft lavender pink hue, had our main course by the sparkling Eiffel tour and dessert by the Statue of Libery. Definitely worth every Euro! Book at least 3 months in advance to get the coveted front table as I did though every table had a great view!

Yelp
An experience of a lifetime! Way beyond my expectations. Gliding on the Seine, just below the sparkling Eiffel Tower, happily woozy on Champagne and tender, subtly cinnamon-fragrant duck, was already more than I imagined. But to finish the night, below deck, sipping Moroccan tea and listening to hypnotic Indian fusion music... just confirmed that the best experiences are often unexpected. It would be our last real night in Paris, the dinner cruise. While I had no expectations, I think I did expect one of those white, modern boats I'd seen along the Seine - not much different than one I got too drunk and sick on a San Francisco booze cruise back in the '80s. Touristy, but fine for sipping a cocktail and watching the view. After getting off the Metro at the Louvre-Rivoli stop, we (my family and I) walked on a bridge, headed toward our dinner cruise boat on the Seine. When I spotted the boat we'd be boarding for dinner: Le Calife, I was happily surprised. Warm wooden lanterns hanging on the outside, red-clothed tables... like something from another era. We ordered dinner and drinks, as the sun went from late-afternoon golden, to pink and purple, then black. The historic architecture slid by, then glowed in warm light, as Le Calife glided down the Seine. We finished our dinner - the best meal I had in Paris: tender duck on mashed potatoes glazed with a sweet and savory cinnamon-scented sauce. A waitress brought desserts to my sister Denise and her husband Mick, topped with sparklers, as the entire boat wished them happy birthdays (both born that month, August). What a birthday celebration! It couldn't be better. I thought. Then, the golden-lit Eiffel Tower grew as we neared it, and the iconic structure began to sparkle, as it does every hour in the evening. We glided nearer and nearer. The boat reached just below the tower's legs. As if staged, the moon peeked from the center of the Eiffel Tower. Incredible. Afterward, mom's friend, the woman in charge of the dinner cruise recipes and ex-wife of the captain, introduced us to the Captain and Le Calife owner: Nicolas Gailledrat. My husband Ian, a musician/recording console designer, was surprised to see Nicolas has a recording studio on the boat (below deck). Nicolas began to tell Ian how he once ran a jazz club on Le Calife, and recorded many artists; one of the musicians was John McLaughlin and his Indian-American fusion band Shakti. Next thing I know, we're seated below deck on Le Calife, sipping Moroccan spearmint tea, watching and listening to a video of Shakti's exotic music - rhythmic, hypnotic, sitar-style guitar and thumping tablas. So mesmerized, I said "That tabla player ( Zakir Hussain) is like the Jimmy Page of Tabla." It was not what I expected when mom said, "We're going on a dinner cruise." Screw expectations. Some experiences are heightened when they're unexpected. Full experience and video on the Calife, here: http://aprilbaby.typepad.com/a_california_life/2011/08/magical-parisian-mystery-tour.html

Yelp
I was here for a work event. I know, life's hard. Opted for the salmon tartar (helloooo too much dill), the vegetable puff pastry (what's IN that dish? I had to refrain from licking the plate), and the apple tart (with caramel ice cream; do they even give rewards for people who don't lick their plates clean? Seriously, I should get two at the very least). Service is friendly, prices are fair, and the champers kept me from getting sea sick. The views are stunning. Stunning! We rode past the Eiffel right as the clock struck 9pm, so we watched it sparkle. Super romantic, but not so much when you're there with your co-workers. C'est la vie. And what a vie it is!

Yelp
Having celebrated our wedding here, my wife and I returned for our two year anniversary. What a treat! In terms of the specifics of the trip, the other reviews are pretty dead on: slow moving trip perfectly timed to arrive at the Eiffel Tower for the hourly light show. But this is a restaurant boat and not a tour boat! This boat has a very interesting story and the owner has been continuously improving it. At one point, it was a recording studio and later it hosted a variety of musical performances. If you get there early here is a tip: Ask to take a peek below decks at the recording studio and performance area. There are many wonderful instruments including the last Steinway Grand to be produced at the original atelier. Most of the staff remembered us and we were treated to the best view and table on the boat. Boarding is between 7:45 - 8:15 pm and they depart promptly at 8:50 pm. The owner, Capt. Nicolas, stopped by our table to say hi and tell us about the changes over the past couple years. From new tables and chairs to remodeled bathrooms, the "péniche" (barge) is looking wonderful. The closest way I can describe this business is a family who happens to run a restaurant on a boat and is inviting you to dine at their house. You will feel a sense of pride and ownership from every member of the staff. Everyone working last night remembered us from 2 years ago and greeted us warmly and enthusiastically. The beauty and decor of the boat was further justification that we made the perfect decision to have our wedding here. Oh and the food: amazing. For starters I had the homemade foie gras and my wife had the ayurvedic salad. Both can't be missed. For the main dishes, we had the duck breast with honey sauce and lamb shoulder. Both were perfect. There are many options for main entrees and I don't think you'll find a bad one on the menu. After those two amazing courses, the cheese course, dessert, and digestif were just an added bonus. With the selection of bubbly, cocktails, and wine along with the slow moving picturesque views of Paris invoking memories from our magical wedding, it all added up to my favorite night out in a very long time.

Yelp
A different view of Paris, and believe it or not a clever positioning of the Statue of Liberty aligned with the Eifel tower...for a visual trick that makes you ask what the tower is doing in NY.... A great lunch cruise with unexpectedly super food, exceptional service and a true Parisian experience. From the reservation process to the disembarkation, this is a classy operation and a must do for the Paris-o-phile. We arrived on time and were welcomed with champagne. Despite a change in our party size the team was superbly accommodating and friendly. There is a not a bad seat in the house...so to speak and the sights from this angle were something I had never experienced in all my visits to Paris. The food was excellent. Surprising how they were able to produce such high quality on the boat...but they were. Salad was fresh with pâté and gizzards, accompanied by a dense vinaigrette sauce that was a delicate accompaniment. The fish was perfectly cooked as was the guinea fowl, and the potatoes rice and vegetables were warmly dressed with appropriate consistency sauces that accentuated the tastes. The crème Brule was soft and tantalizingly fresh and cool to round up a perfect meal. This cruise is worth every euro and every minute. A great angle on Paris.

Yelp
made a reservation on the website they say you have to call them within 1-2 days to confirm and make a phone deposit. so i call them, no answer, i left a message as they instructed. next day, i call them again, then the guy says he can't help me because they're getting ready to leave. the website says to call them before 7pm their time, i called them like 4pm their time! then i get an email saying they cancelled my reservation because i never called them. HA! if making reservations are such an inconvenience for them, i think i'd be best to steer clear of being served dinner by them.
