We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary and it was truly magical! The fine dining in an elegant and cozy ambiance created a romantic and intimate garden setting. From the moment we arrived, the attentive service made us feel pampered. The food was exquisite! A special thank you to the staff for making this anniversary celebration so unforgettable. The dessert was a lovely touch, and we appreciate the personalized greeting & service. We highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to create a memorable dining experience for a special occasion. Mr.&Mrs.Dana

Amazing culinary and overall experience with Sue! The food was DELICIOUS! We chose to sit outside and even if there were mosquitos, we did not regret as the view on the vineyards is so soothing and unique. Highly recommend this place and thank you!

Our first time visiting Le Caveau restaurant. We were greeted and warmly welcomed by one of the owner’s Beatrice Stutz. It was a truly wonderful experience. Our waitress Leah made sure we had everything we needed and more! She was super sweet and friendly. We had the Pandesal Filipino Sweet Rolls as an appetizer and they were amazing! For my main I had the Pan Roasted Arctic Char with Thai black rice risotto, salmon roe velouté, leek pavé & frisée and my partner had the Brant Lake Wagyu Hanger Steak with Pomme Duchesse, charred cabbage, carrot miso purée, bordelaise sauce followed by The Zeppole for dessert which was Tossed in nutmeg sugar, with almond ice cream & sour cherry compote. It was absolutely delicious! You can tell there is a lot of passion, hard work and time that Chef Jason Lynch and his team at Le Caveau put into their amazing dishes along with the presentation. The staff were super friendly, very welcoming and knowledgeable. We also had lunch the next day. I highly recommend the Double Duck Fat Fries which is served with the Harissa and lime aioli, Old Growler gouda and green onion. It was superb! For lunch I had the Le Caveau Reuben which was on a House-cured beef brisket with cider mustard, sauerkraut and Gruyere on house-made molasses bun and my partner had the Grilled Coppa Steak with Frites and Madagascar sauce. It was so delish! The restaurant itself is beautiful and it also has the pergola which is gorgeous for sitting outside. We also stayed at the Inn at Grand Pre winery. It is stunning. We stayed in the room on lower level called the Courtyard. It’s a gorgeous spacious room and immaculate. The bed was super comfy and the room had lots of windows with great lighting which gave us a nice view of the pergola. We also had access to the sitting room which is a nice place to read, have breakfast or to unwind. Courtney and Payton were so welcoming, sweet, and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. They really made you feel at home and were very helpful. I highly recommend this place to stay in Grand Pre. The wine is spectacular!!! My favourite is definitely the Marquette (red) and Riesling (white). Also the wine shop is lovely. Manda and Flynn were so knowledgeable and happy to assist me in whatever I needed. Super friendly and very helpful. We had such a wonderful and relaxing vacation. We definitely are coming back. Our favourite place to stay and favourite restaurant so far!!!

The La Caveau experience is oustanding! Leah, Katie & everyone we had the pleasure of interacting with went above and beyond for our dinner service, exceeded our expectations. Celebrating my fiances 35th birthday, I reached out proactively to the restaurant to make some special requests, not only did they honor the requests but also suggested other options to make the night special with additional recommendations. On top of that, the food is phenomenal! The Confit Duck Paparelle & Brant Lake Wagyu Steak were both so unbelievably delicious and the Zeppoli is out of this world. While finishing up some delicious wine, we were already planning our next trip. Hands down the best dining experience we had while in the Annapolis Valley!

The patio was shaded by pergolas where each table felt like its own private garden booth. The food was excellent with selections for all dietary needs. The staff were very friendly and extra helpful. Highly recommend!

Without a doubt one of the best lunches we've ever had. Susan our server guided us through menu selection in a thoroughly professional and good humoured approach. Mussels, charcuterie board, dessert and refreshments. It was all perfect. The beautiful vineyards and landscape of the Annapolis valley surround you like a hug in the outdoor courtyard.

We had the most wonderful meal and dining experience. It was really unique being able to sit and watch the chefs create our meals - which were truly works of art. Our cocktails were perfect and Kyla provided exceptional service. Nicole at the wine shop was really helpful and kind. Thank you!

Google
I very much enjoyed my dinner at le caveau . The local is quite simple and I believe offers a terrasse in summer. The food was quite good, I had several starters as a meal, oysters, scallops, and the snow crab risotto and the zeppole for dessert (a gigantic portion). All dishes were quite good and balanced in terms of flavors. The service was efficient although the wait time between the dishes was a bit long (restaurant was half full). All that said, I would definitely visit this restaurant again if in the area.

Yelp
There is a reason Curated magazine rated this place #9 out of the '50 Best Places to Eat' in Nova Scotia (see photo of write up from 2023 edition)! We came for a birthday celebration which we were very happy about because Le Caveau doesn't traditionally do winter dinners. They are open during January and February for weekends only. I was sad to learn that they will close in March and April but hopefully that changes in the future as early spring would be awesome here. We chose the 5:00 pm seating (open 5-730 pm currently) and it was a great choice because we were the only ones in the restaurant. Of note, the restaurant is located at The Inn (across the actual restaurant, on the same property) during the winter months. Our server was lovely and let us choose our seats in one of two rooms - the 'kitchen' room or the side dining room. We chose the dining room and that's our only regret; the other room would have allowed us to watch the chef which would have been awesome. We took a while with the menu because we couldn't decide with everything looking so good. The server brought us a birthday drink to toast while we decided which was really nice. While the portions may look small in the photos, choosing one item from each course makes this just perfect. We decided to share a second and if we had each had our own, we agreed we'd be overly full before dessert arrived. Some folks may find this over-priced, but you're paying for quality local ingredients that are made to order as you sit. There are no Sysco products or pre-bottled ingredients in the kitchen. You really get what you pay for while supporting local farmers. Seating is VERY limited so you definitely need reservations. We will definitely be back in the summer to check out the actual restaurant. We would really love to visit when the pergola patio is open because a cocktail or glass of wine with all of the blooms would be just stunning. Skip the garbage fast food for a month and save up to try this place out. You will love the service, quality and the atmosphere.

Yelp
We walked in from the rain without reservations, (we had just come to the Olde Lantern Inn next door for two nights) and were quickly seated and welcomed, wet coats were taken and hung. We'd read mixed reviews and were curious about this place. I'm writing because it was a fabulous meal, served with knowledge and attention. Two of us chose the tasting menu with paired wines, and one of us chose the tuna special. We all were excited about the presentation and flavors and service. I highly recommend the four-course tasting menu and wines, special flavors and wines I wouldn't have known how to choose. Thank you for welcoming us without reservations, for making us feel as special as anyone else, for gracious service. Thank you!

Yelp
Wonderful setting, delicious food, lovely wait staff. Local wines, good menu choices. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Probably my favourite place to eat in the entire trip. Scenery on the patio, stunning. Service, prompt and professional. Food amazing. We loved our pasta. It was so fresh and flavourful. The oysters tasted liked they came out of the sea freshly and I loved the sauces that it came with. Mussels wer nicely cooked. I would definately come back here again.

Yelp
Where to start and how to end? Restaurant is putting out high- level, local food with European styling and great care. Tasting menu was an extraordinary experience with estate wines. Any dish on the menu is worth the drive. It's special place. Gorgeous courtyard to eat at during the day. The Inn is new and so worth staying in. Gorgeous rooms and styling. Taste all the wines in the tasting room. Excellent staff service. Walk through the vines and see a UNESCO heritage spot overlooking the meadows and location of le grand derangement of 1755. An event of historical significance for Acadian culture which contributed to the Cajun culture In Louisiana. Not a happy chapter in the early Pre-Canadian history books. Regardless, the winery, restaurant and Inn are an escape from the other spotty, touristy garbage you get exposed to in the region.

Yelp
Wonderful gem of a restaurant in Wolfville at the Grand Prè winery! The food was incredibly fresh and good--our favorites were the gnocchi with local blue cheese, vegetable "boudin" and the best tuna tartare I've ever had. Server Sarah was delightful and we tried a few different wines from the estate, including the blanc de blanc sparkling which was so tasty. We sat outside on the patio. Loved it!

Yelp
The restaurant and atmosphere is nice. Food tastes good. However all this is counteracted by the extreme slowness of the service. We ordered as soon as we sat down, and took 70 minutes for the food to arrive. Not worth.

Kat K.

Yelp
We had an amazing culinary and oenological experience. The food is worth the highest price. The staff is charming and everybody is a sommelier. Our wine pairing was perfect. The setting is romantic, relaxing and elegant. An evening to remember.

Yelp
ohm muhh gaawwdd! THIS PLACE is one of the best meals I have had in my life. It was so good that I had to come again the following night. We started off with the charcuterie wirh cheese board which was one of a kind. All different types of cheeses and novel meat offerings. We had the waygu hanger steak that tasted like heaven and my spouse had the rabbit rigatoni that left us drooling. 5 freakin stars! Would eat here every day if I could but I live in NYC. Thank you for a memorable meal!!

Yelp
Le Caveau at Domaine de Grand Pré became our lunch destination by default after doing a little wine tasting here, and the outdoor pergola is a beautiful spot for lunch on a sunny afternoon. The parsnip and chaga soup was really excellent, but we waited almost thirty minutes for the main lunch courses to arrive with not a word as to why we were experiencing such a lengthy wait. The patio was not busy, with only three or four other parties being served. When our food arrived, my house charcuterie platter included four different cured game and meat products, an assortment of house pickles, and two different breads, all very good, for $18. Other courses included a tasty Roman gnocci and a Reuben sandwich, both of which were considered good. However, the two schnitzel sandwiches were only considered okay for the other two in our party. When the lengthy wait issue was mentioned, there was no apology by our waiter - only a look of disbelief on her face and a promise to talk to the kitchen about it. What was surprising was that she didn't seem to see an issue with the length of time it took to deliver a relatively straightforward lunch in the first place! A tough one to score! A beautiful setting, a great wine selection of both their own and imported wines, food quality and prices ranging from excellent to okay, but inattentive service with a bit of attitude, and no apology. Sorry, but for me, I won't return, so the score reflects this.

Yelp
Excellent small restaurant on the grounds of Grand Pre vineyard. Stopped for lunch. Small menu, but excellent choices. Had the mussels which were served in a cider/dill broth which was different than any other broth I've had(we welcomed the difference after eating mussels everyday for a week now in the same broth.). We had the fish cakes and pad Thai both of which were excellent. Great service, but you may have to wait to get a table. Highly recommended!

Yelp
One of the finest dining experiences ever. Food and service outstanding. Wines are perfectly paired Come early to sit outside The chowder is creamy but not heavy and built with incredibly fresh seafood. Salmon was tender flakey and delightful. And the agnolotti were out of this world. We didn't get desert but others around us were enjoying theirs. Really loved it!

Yelp
$$$-$$$$ Great medium size restaurant for dinners and wine. Lots of choices for drinks especially wine. Service is great. Their only steak offering is hanger steak. The sauce is great and the steak is properly grilled. The texture of a medium-well hanger steak is closed to the texture of a 90% well-done rib steak or even T-bones. Worth to go.

Yelp
This is one of the best organized wine yard/restaurant we visited while in Nova Scotia. My wife and I rarely have the same dish so we can share and discuss, but the Lobster and Scallop chowder that Amanda recommended was something neither of us could resist. One word of warning: The Grand Pre National Historical Site is just over the hill. Visit it first! It's a bit of a walk and a lot harder on a full stomach. (You can also drive.)

Yelp
In my 46 years, never have I had worse service or felt as if my being a client was a favour to me. Our meal lasted 1 hour, 45mins, which included a 45 minute wait for our mains. Some of our party ordered only appetizers and sides, which arrived split; three got theirs first, the 4th got hers while the others got their mains. When we complained about the service time, our pretentious waiter argued that we had not actually waited 45 minutes. There was no check in to see how our food was (which was cold). One of our party received his beer containing a fly, which wasn't even met with an apology. Never again will I eat at this place. Keep driving. The service is better at a fast food restaurant. The server (who I would name, but the receipt had a different name) was condescending and rude. Keep driving and give your patronage to a place that appreciates it.

Yelp
Fabulous! A sumptuous meal, with friendly, smart service. We were a large group and we all enjoyed this amazing, beautiful place in a marvelous vineyard setting.

Yelp
A beautiful setting for my 50th birthday lunch. The food was delicious and most importantly, all gluten free. I enjoyed gluten free bread with the yummy charcuterie, the halibut and lobster cakes and finished with chocolate cake. And the wine pairings were perfect. A really lovely winery to stop for a memorable lunch.

Yelp
I was looking forward to a wonderful dinner. I was served the toughest steak I have had in twenty years. When the server placed the two plates down on the table -- my partner had ordered the same thing -- it was obvious at first glance that we had two quite different pieces of meat. I should have sent it back after the first taste, but instead I gave most of it to my partner. It was no wonder that the server did not ask me whether I had enjoyed my dinner.

Yelp
I have eaten here on three separate occasions, twice for supper and once for lunch. Both times I had supper here we were pleased with our meals. For lunch our meals were less inspired. The atmosphere is nice and the service is good.

Yelp
This was my first experience here after the first attempt was thwarted by a snow storm last year. This restaurant offers a cosy, casual atmosphere with beautiful food made from fantastic, fresh produce. The service was fantastic, as was the selection of wines (local and international). My only question is- where is the seasoning? So staff do come around with a gigantic pepper grinder but it tastes like there is absolutely no salt in any dish. I really enjoyed my experience here, as did my husband, but we were left wondering if chef tastes the dishes being prepared.

Yelp
I went to Le Caveau two years ago and I think I was disappointed this time in comparison. The patio is outstanding, there is no doubt about that and the staff lovely. However, the charceuterie board was just okay, I would have preferred sliced meats to two pates. The reuben sandwich was dry and our fish cakes were overly seared on one side. However the Caesar salad, fries, soup and green salad were all lovely. I was also disappointed that the amazing chicken sandwich from my last visit was no longer on the menu and my husband had limited choices since he does not eat fish.

Yelp
Tasty wine. Had the $5 wine tasting and finished with the apple cream. One of the best things I've had. For a light Lil unchanged I had the cehcriery board. Everything on it was excellent, my partner had the lobster and scallop almond chowder. The light broth flavor really brought out the sea food. He paired his with their Tide Flats white and I had their red Caval.

Jo S.

Yelp
Excellent food and wine. Pricey. Very slow service but since it is more of a dining "experience" we did not mind. Lots of mosquitos on patio at dusk. Would be nice if the servers offered bug spray or they had bug lights installed. Someone started a noisy tractor or mowing machine right next to patio and it was obnoxiously loud. No one told the guy to shut it off but finally he did. Servers were rather unorganized but ours was very nice.

Deb R.

Yelp
We walked over from our Motel, the Evangeline, to the winery across the street & visited the tasting room. Brian signed up for an 8-wine tasting & I for a 6-wine, & we shared our tastes. We explained to the server that this was our Silver Anniversary trip & we wanted to taste wines that had won silver medals. As it happened, there were two of them: their version of Tidal Bay (there are 12 wineries with Tidal Bay white wines in NS), and their dessert apple wine, Pomme d'Or. So she kindly took pictures of us with our SILVER wines. Our memorable evening at Grand Pre vinyards was off to a great start. We had about a half hour then before our dinner reservations, so took the very pleasant & picturesque stroll through the vineyards to the UNESCO World Heritage landscape view, over the beautiful, diked Acadian fields. It is a very special place & is marked with Acadian, United Nations, Canadian, Nova Scotian, & MiqMaw flags. Then back to the restaurant where we had a really nice meal. We sat out on their pretty, pleasant patio. It is a large paved circle surrounded by granite columns supporting vines, with perennials & shrubs surrounding the patio. We ordered a series of small plates and asked the server to select wines to go with each "course," like we did last year. Very, very fun way to have a dinner, and our server enjoyed the challenge. So Brian started with lobster & scallop soup & I had a lovely charcuterie plate (all charcuterie & sauces created in house) & we had rose with that. Then gnocchi-like pasta with freshly shelled peas & pancetta, with their Baco Noir red; then scallops and carrot fritters - very good - with the Tidal Bay; finally caeser salad with their signature Castel. I was full by then & couldn't manage much of the salad. The delightful meal was otherwise a bit marred by the presence of no-see-ums which we kept having to squish or they would bite us. So after the salad we went inside & Brian had dessert: pancetta with ginger cookies. A delightful and memorable Silver Anniversary dinner & evening.

Yelp
Myself and my husband went to this restaurant this evening and we were not disappointed. We're here in a mini honeymoon after getting married this past weekend! The waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and wine menu. We had oysters, seafood chowder and their homemade bread for appetizers . We were told by the waitress the bread takes about 15 mins because it's made to order which was fine with us! The bread came out piping hot with fresh hand-churned butter. The chowder was very tasty and the oysters were delicious! I had the lamb and my husband had the duck for mains. The lamb was cooked to my liking and my husband really enjoyed the duck! Both dishes were well presented and very good! The waitress came out with a sample glass of wine as they had a new wine made. It was a bubbly wine which was also very tasty. This restaurant gets five stars with us for sure. It's a little pricey for the mains BUT with a place like this I truly believe you get what you pay for and this food is definitely not lacking in quality! If we ever come to Wolfville again this will be the place we eat for sure ! Great atmosphere and experience!
