We dined here in December, it was amazing, the food was to die for, the service was exceptional and the ambience was perfect. I would highly recommend it. We will return when back in Skipton.

Blown away by the tasting menu and wine flight. A birthday treat for me, my husband and friends were delighted to be forced to enjoy a 6 course meal ; I’m counting the canapés as a course as they were spectacular. We’ve been a few times here and it consistently delights! Highly recommend. I peaked at the other tables and the chateaubriand and the soft shell crab looked amazing too, so we will have to go back very soon! Fabulous service, great chef and excellent wine. Thank you for a great evening La Caveau

Visited last night for my partners birthday. What an incredible experience both front of house staff amazing 👏 food was exceptional and great value for money, as we were leaving we were speaking to the waiter to find out there was on 1 chef in that night. Hats off to him we had one of the nicest meals we've had in a very long time.

An oasis in the high street. Booking is highly reccomended to avoid disappointment. Mark and the team make your visit 1 to remember serving amazing food and wine with excellent service. We have just enjoyed a taster evening and the pictures show the delights we were fed. Beautiful flavours were accompanied by carefully selected wines on each course. A fabulous evening leaving us well sated and ready for bed.

Seriously the best meal I've had in years. The Muscles were to die for and the Hake was absolutely delicious. Going back in December before we go to Australia.

Beautiful food; innovative menu and well executed. Cosy and charming atmosphere with the limited number of tables and being underground. Very affable and efficient service.

Excellent food, attentive service without being intrusive, friendly, classy, but unpretentious. We'd just got married at the registry office and it was the perfect venue for a celebratory lunch with our friends.

Yelp
Le Caveau could easily be missed as it is situated on Skipton High Street down a flight of steps and under the Edinburgh Woolen Shop, However, if you walk past you will smell the delcious aromas eminating from it and maybe wonder from whence they came?! Originally a 16th century prison for sheep rustlers and criminals this is an unsual and evocative place to eat. Very small so booking is adviseable at the weekends or for a large group. The entrance is down a steep and narrow flight of stair and leads you into a vaulted brick built room. With Cosy tables and comfortable seating. Special menus, a la catre and light snakcs at lucnh are available, but I think if you want an unusal and interesting meal then the evenings are well worth a try. This is not a cheap restaurant, but you pay for what you get and here you get attention to detail, fine wines and an ecclectic French/ English menu.I liked it more when they erred on the side of French but it is still fantastic. Their beef is succulent,as is their Duck. The starters are scrummy and if you want a treat the bread and butter pudding ( not a dish I would ususlly have, is dreamy, not stodgy but light and spiced to perfection. A fantastic choice of wines which are not cheap but to accompany a meal which is comparable you cannot go wrong. They have a Christmas Menu, a la carte and specials. Light or substantial lunches are available and quite frankly their soup and a starter is a great lunch. The attention to detail is sublime and the owner will endeavour to do his best to accommodate all tastes. Nothing is to much trouble here. If you are claustropobic to do not visit as it is low ceilinged but the atmosphere is wonderful. Reasonable prices for a wonderful lunch experience, expect to pay more in the evening. Easy free parking in the evening on the high street. Also on Tuesday,Thursday and Sunday during the day. Worth it for the setting. Difficult access for wheelchairs users as this is down below street level and very narrow.

Yelp
FIVE Star *** Fantastic food, service & atmosphere, best restaurant in Skipton without a doubt, we often make the 36 mile round trip from our home because it is well worth it, don't just take my word for it, try it for yourself you will have to book, even in these hard times

Yelp
Went with friends on Saturday and it was brilliant from start to finish , they also now have a good selection of bottled real ales which was an improvement on the last time we went . It was so good we are now going to book again for a family birthday . cannot wait

Yelp
For a combination of good food, value, and intimate atmosphere, Le Caveau can't be beaten locally. My wife and I have dinned there on numerous occasions, and never been disappointed. Although the main menu doesn't change that often, there is always a good selection of specials on the board. Food is always excellent, as is the service. One night it snowed while we were there, and at the end of the evening Brian, the owner, ran us home in his 4x4! Good wine list, and its nice that the mark up on the wines is far more reasonable than many places.
