Eating at Le Cedre was like taking a journey to the Middle East. This Lebanese restaurant was elegantly decorated on the inside with carpets, lamps, curtains--everything you need to feel like a sultan! From their lunch menu, my pick was the vegan plate, a selection of mezze dishes including lemony tabbouleh, a creamy hummus topped with chickpeas, "Beirut" hummus with tomatoes and parsley, moutabbal (eggplant purée), and fatayer, two deep-fried triangle pastries with a warm spinach filling. My favorite components of the plate were the creamy hummus and the crispy fatayer, but everything was delicious and perfect for eating with the thin pita bread on the side. I also tried the Kofta Harra, which were three spicy ground lamb kebabs served with grilled vegetables, garlicky toum, and a spicy tomato paste. The lamb kebabs were juicy and perfectly spiced, and all the flavors were on point!
