22 Best Hotels in Montreal, From Grand Dames to Sleek Boutiques | Condé Nast Traveler

"After a recent extensive renovation, this Sheraton felt reliably comfortable and familiar to me—the sort of no-frills, consistent option favored by business travelers and families—located one block from the Bell Centre, with an onsite restaurant (Stanley) serving locally inspired dishes and exclusive beers brewed with Brasserie Harricana." - Todd Plummer

Hotel is very centrally located in downtown. Access to many restaurants, we went to Timeout Market which is inside Shopping Mall, kind of an elevated food court with Poke, Vietnamese Pho, BBQ, Fish and chips, Ramen, Pizza and many more. I opted for the Portuguese chicken with fries and salad. We also went to Ben & Florentine for breakfast. Their Eggs Benedict with Ham is highly recommended, their Hollendaise sauce is superb. Reuben Grill & Steak is also good choice for dinner. The hotel room was clean, bed is super comfortable after day of travel and the rain shower with lots of pressure on high floor was super nice. Wished we could stay longer than 2 nights we had. Also why we didn't ask for room service. Starbucks downstairs a quick fix for your morning coffee or in the evening

Stayed here for a conference that was held at the hotel. Hotel itself was fine - rooms clean, bed comfortable and good.location. Very disappointed in having to pay a 'luggage storage fee' per price of luggage to leave my luggage at the hotel for a few hours awaiting my flight. Luggage staff on drop off were also not very pleasant. I have stayed at hotels all over the world, both large and small, and have never had this come up, particularly for such a short storage windows. I would be highly unlikely ro stay here again unless attending a conference or other event at the hotel because of this silly policy.

If you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay, I wouldn’t recommend this place. Even on the 27th floor, we couldn’t sleep most nights because of the constant noise — traffic, metro, and even sounds from neighboring rooms. It was loud throughout our stay. On the positive side, the restaurant was great, and the included breakfast was the best part of our experience. The swimming pool, although not crowded, was poorly maintained with visible water accumulation — it didn’t seem like it was cleaned regularly. However, the jacuzzi and steam sauna were good.

We had a wonderful stay at Le Centre Sheraton. I was here with my wife and son, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and perfect for a family stay. The highlight for me was the fitness gym – it’s truly exquisite, one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel. Overall, clean, welcoming, and very well maintained. Highly recommend for both families and business travelers.

We recently had the pleasure to stay at the Sheraton while in Montreal. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Our room was ready in advance and was quite clean upon our arrival. The bathroom is extremely nice - shower is likely one of the nicest we’ve seen in a hotel. Also impressed with the tile in the room upon entry. There are 6 elevators to take guests up to their rooms. These elevators are extremely fast. On a number of occasions, we asked different employees a variety of questions and everyone was extremely helpful. Our room had a beautiful view of Mount Royal. In terms of amenities, we used the gym and pool. We found both to be above standard in comparison to other hotels. One of our favourite parts of this hotel was the parking garage. Strange to say. The reason for the overwhelming approval is that you don’t need to take a ticket each time when entering or leaving the parking garage. Instead, a camera simply takes a photo of your license plate and automatically opens the gate. Very impressive! 🏨

My family has been staying at Marriott properties for over 20 years, and this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. During our stay at the Marriott/Sheraton Downtown Montreal (Room 1018), we were at the bar when a hostess assured us that we would not be charged or penalized for a vaping incident. We trusted her word and thought the matter was resolved. Instead, as we got up to leave, we were suddenly confronted by both a security guard and the manager and slapped with a $200 fine for the very same issue we were told would not be a problem. The worst part of this entire experience was Manager Kim, who was shockingly rude and disrespectful. He spoke to us with hostility, showed zero professionalism, and made us feel humiliated in front of other guests. In over two decades of staying at Marriott hotels, I have never encountered a manager who behaved this way. Guests should be able to rely on the information given by staff and be treated with respect — neither happened here. After this incident, my family is seriously reconsidering whether we will ever stay at a Marriott property again.

There was a water bottle top on the floor in my room (2129) under the tv table on arrival. It remained there the entire time so not sure how clean the rooms really are for housekeeping to repeatedly miss this. The air conditioner did its own thing with me having to wake up and adjust throughout the night. The water in the sink drained very slowly and the shower pressure was unacceptable. You can hear the elevators zooming up/down throughout the day but not so much at bed time. The view from my room was/is nice. Starbucks in the lobby is convenient. The store on the bottom level has essentials although it was very high priced. The food at the conference was really good. There’s tons of great restaurants nearby.

The hotel is set near shops, restaurants and bars and hosts great amenities which is expected from a city hotel. The rooms were very clean, great sizes with good facilities such as coffee machine, fridge, iron/ironing board, safe and plenty of plug access points. All staff were very friendly and helpful which reflected in the friendly atmosphere of the hotel. As well as having other amenities within the hotel vicinity the hotel is also used for various conference bookings.

Yelp
Very nice hotel, centrally located in downtown Montreal. Many restaurants and shops within reasonable walking distance. Comfortable beds, excellent cleaning staff stays on top of everything, and a lovely restaurant (Stanley) on site. Starbucks is also on site. Huge ballroom and dozens of other meeting rooms. Gym and indoor pool. Staff members have been exceedingly helpful and polite over the course of our 5 night stay. For those not from a metropolitan area, street sounds may be bothersome at night; requesting a room higher up may be helpful.

Yelp
Great location, clean room, all basic amenities. Great express lodging option. But i am not sure why i have to write 85 words though.

Yelp
I stayed here Thursday, Friday, Saturday and into Sunday morning. I was attending the 2025 National Audubon Leadership Conference. The hotel was a beautiful and efficient place to have this hosted. The hotel has a lot of rooms for meetings and smaller break out events. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. They constantly filled water pitchers with ice and water throughout the whole hotel. Each meal had a lot of options to choose from. They dinner options were very fancy, at least for me, and always had bread and butter. I personally didn't love all of the food, but I did appreciate how it looked. The hotel room was very comfortable. Everyday my room was cleaned and I had no problems there. Even checking in and out was extremely easy. The staff were so nice and helpful with that whole process. At one point I lost my key in my room and was locked out, within minutes they had given me a new key and I was back in my room. The location is very close to some locals parks, bars, and some restaurants. Even very late the streets were usually very busy with people. Overall I would definitely stay here again and it was a great experience.

Yelp
8/23/2024 Sheraton is in the process of renovating their sleuth of properties around the globe. Since the folding of Starwood into Marriott and the rebranding of Marriott Rewards into Bonvoy; I have been looking forward to staying at a renovated property. Location: situated directly in downtown Montreal along with other international hotel brands, this newly updated Sheraton property is among the taller buildings in the area. The 747 bus will take a passenger from the Trudeau International Airport to the property within 30-35 minutes. The nearest metro station is about 6 minutes away by foot and a corridor of shops is two blocks away. If you are looking for convenience, this is a perfect location to stay. Booking: rates hover $200 or so nightly directly on Marriott.com - I always book direct, and I suggest that everyone do as well if you want to utilize and earn Bonvoy rewards. Decor: Sheraton is by no means a luxury hotel brand, but it is in the premium category. The hotel feels urban but sleek at the same time. Grey tones and concrete line the interior. While the lighting seemed a bit dim, it did not hinder visibility, and actually felt very comforting. The Check-In: I've come to an understanding that patience is important and to simply let the agent do his or her job. Interaction is also crucial in the process. The agent that assisted my check in was calm, collected, courteous and thorough; a great start for my stay. The Room: I was upgraded to a Club level room on a high floor as a Platinum elite member in addition to Club lounge access. My 34th floor room felt spacious and new at the same time. Hues of grey, taupe, and white highlight the newly renovated room. While the bathroom did feel a tad small sans bathe tub; it was functional and did its job. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable. Power outlets are against the wall of the nightstand with usb ports on the iHome alarm clock. The Club Lounge: certain elevators will take one directly to the 37th floor. To avoid having to wait for one, I got off on the 36th floor like others and switched elevators to reach the 37th floor. The lounge itself is quite spacious with floor to ceiling windows providing views of Montreal's harbor. Buffet breakfast, snacks and beverages are served in the Club Lounge. The Pool: you can find the pool and gym on the 6th floor. A decently sized pool, hot tub, sauna room, and gendered showers can be found on this level. It gets a bit busy depending on the time of day you decide to visit. I stopped by in the later part of the evening to relax. Aside from bottled water not being made available, the hot tub looking a bit filthy, and one of the sauna rooms being out of order; I enjoyed the pool level very much. Final thoughts: a very comfortable stay, and a property I would not mind staying at again in the future.

Yelp
We stayed here a few nights ago, and found it to be a nice hotel for the most part. The room safe was broken, so we notified reception upon check-in. Sadly the safe was never fixed, so one BIG star off for that. The room was very nice, and had a lovely view of the downtown area. There was a massive party across the street, so it was very LOUD in the room. Location is a far from the touristy Old Montreal sites. Breakfast buffet was nice, and the waitress in the breakfast room was phenomenal. I can't remember her name, but she said she is Greek. Give her a raise! I had two drinks at the bar on two different nights with two totally different experiences. The first night I had excellent service, with an excellent cocktail. I was so impressed I made a bee-line for another drink the following night, and the cocktail had a putrid smelling dehydrated lime wheel in the drink. When I notified the bartender, he said it smelled fine and shrugged his shoulders. He either has terrible olfactory capabilities, is a liar, doesn't care, or all 3. Another BIG star off for that.

Yelp
It's a very convenient hotel to downtown Montreal . It's about 30 mins walk to old Montreal. The hotel is very clean , the room was tidy and white linen. This is better compared inToronto. Love the restaurant and bar in the lobby. The view from our room looking across St Laurence River. Will come back. It has a coffee maker

Yelp
I stayed on the 26th floor of Le Centre Sheraton for five nights. My room was small yet clean and comfortable, with a nice view of downtown Montréal. Housekeeping was respectful of not coming in when I had a do not disturb sign and did a good job of cleaning and offering fresh towels and water bottles. The location is superb. I love walking, so I was able to walk from the hotel to Chinatown and even Le Vieux Montréal, even though that may be too long of a walk for most. If you take a taxi, you're pretty much within 10 minutes of all the major sites and neighborhoods around downtown Montréal. I recommend Le Centre Sheraton for conferences and business events. The catering was excellent, and I enjoyed the food offered at breakfast, lunch, and dinner events. There are many meeting rooms of various sizes. The hotel provided notepads and pens and had the technology to set up for panels, keynote speakers, and lecture style presentations. Several downsides were that my room didn't have a bathtub, nor were there a lot of television channels offered. I checked the photos for the club level rooms, and I didn't see bathtubs in those either. The price is standard, with my room going for around $375 CAD on weekends with lower rates on weekdays. The club level rooms can go up to $1,200 CAD per night. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and loved the convenience and location nearby much of the nightlife and tourist attractions in Montréal. Recommended for business travel.

Yelp
Solid 4 star. Conveniently located in downtown. Has nearby stops for easy access to 747 airport bus. Easy to find food around there (has a Starbucks attached to it). I was on 8th floor and there was minimal noise. Room was well equipped, clean and spacious. Lots of channels on TV and Internet was quite fast. Some electrical outlets charged faster than others. The knob for the shower could use more friction because it's really hard to turn on the knob for shower when your hands were full of body soap. Staff check in and check out was quick and courteous.

Yelp
Amazing fries, Great service definitely recommend. Really welcoming close to lots of places

Yelp
The best part of this hotel for me was the room (929), pool, hot tub and concierge. The hotel overall could stand some upgrades and more cleaning in the common spaces. On my first day I ordered a club sandwich from the main lobby restaurant and it definitely looked a lot better than it tasted, that was disappointing. The waitress was not friendly and when I asked for specific condiments, she didn't even have the decency to share with me that the restaurant doesn't allow it, she instead had the hostess come over to share it with me. Just tacky. When I return to Montreal, I won't be staying here. The foods flavor definitely needs some attention.

Yelp
We were in Montreal for the first time and wanted a place to stay near the center of town. We found Le Centre and was not disappointed. Rooms are very modern. Check-in was quick and overall staff was very professional. It is a full-service hotel so there are lots of other amenities we did not have time to experience. We were on the 27th floor and the views were exceptional. We choose the self-park and the fee was $24-$25 dollars per day. The one drawback, especially for newbies such as us is there was major construction in front of the hotel so there was no access. Downtown has lots of one way streets and even though street signs are posted, it can be a challenge understanding where you are. So, we drove a couple of blocks with the strategy of entering from the rear. We finally found an access street but that process took about 20 minutes and it was at night. Overall we had a very good experience.

Tammy F.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in the perfect location. Everyone was friendly and the hotel room was very nice and clean. Awesome view both at night and during the day. Easy walking distance to the park and the Cathedral. The only negative is it was a bit noisy with typical downtown sounds and air planes but the view from the room was so worth it the noise was easily overlooked.

Yelp
This hotel is super convenient to shops, restaurants and McGill University, which we were touring for our son. Our room was very clean and everything worked fine. We paid extra for access to the Club Lounge, and that was totally worth it. Club Lounge employee, Peter, even gave us some tips on the best places to eat. Overall, we had a great stay!

Yelp
Centrally located hotel in Montreal and you can walk to all of the sights from the hotel. The bed is the most heavenly, plush bed I've ever slept on. It's down feathers and feels like sleeping on cloud 9. Service was excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
This hotel did its job well. Stayed here for one night while passing thru to Quebec City and generally had no complaints at all. The rooms were quite spacious and some suites offer an excellent view of Downtown Montreal. It's location, of course, is excellent as you're within walking distance to St. Catherine Street, Bell Centre, and the metro. There's a Starbucks downstairs if you want your morning coffee fix. Otherwise there's no continental breakfast here. There's also free hot water outside the Starbucks if you're travelling and want to fill your water bottles up. Not a bad place overall. It looks a bit older on the outside but the inside is more spacious and modern.

Yelp
Absolutely worth the stay and the 5 stars! My boyfriend and i had a layover Montreal for New Years and it just so happened that the weather was below -25 degrees when we were there and we didnt mind stay inside at all. We had access to the premier floors which had a nice private bar and food area on the top floor with incredible views. The spa, pools, gym, shops, hot tubs, and saunas were incredible and perfect to pass some time in the cold. There was an area downstairs with a very cozy fireplace you can snuggle up with a book and drink in hand from the bar right next to it. The service was incredible, the staff is so warm and sweet, housekeeping was always perfect and not to mention, the hotel is in a prime location. SOO many different restaurants, bars to go to and activities to do. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Stayed here after watching a hockey game at the Bell Centre. Very close walk. The main problem I had was that they were actually doing maintenance in the room above me at 3am so I couldn't sleep and the phone was broken in the room. I called the front desk from my cell phone and was told they would have security check it out but it kept going until 4:15 am and then stopped until they started using power tools at 7am. Ridiculously noisy Hotel

Yelp
I've stayed here with my family has stayed here many times over the past decade, and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Montreal. We usually get a junior suite and the rooms are super comfortable and have plenty of dedicated outlets for device charging. Getting a room with Club access is highly recommended, as you'll get an amazing view of the city from the 37th floor and enjoy a full breakfast as part of your rate. (Elevators are really fast, as well!) Housekeeping staff is always top-notch. Quick to make up the room when you're out for the day, and very thorough. The indoor pool is large enough to swim laps in and there is a pretty awesome fitness center, with just about everything you need. Location is great. One block from Bell Centre. A few minutes walk to the restaurants on Rue Crescent. Even St. Laurent, St. Denis, and Old Montreal are very walkable (when the temps aren't below 0ºF). Even the valet service is super fast. Can't say much more. I've had great experiences every time.

Yelp
* BURGER WEEK* I give them alot of credit for coming up with something so out of the box. However it lacked so much attitude! .. missing something to break wtvr was going on there.. wasn't my favorite.. the service was mediocre and I mean... it's a restaurant In a hotel. Presentation felt very room service lol. We took the crabby patty! It's a soft shell crab...barely tasted any "meat".. I wish they added like a mango chutney to it and some spice..it was very bland.

Yelp
This location probably has the best staff I've ever seen working in a hotel. They are kind. They are helpful. Pound for pound perfect definition of what customer service should be. This Sheraton location has now become my choice hotel in the Montreal area. Visiting Montreal with my 11-year-old daughter. Perfect experience! Whoever handles the hiring here has done a phenomenal job! Thank you!

Anne-Christine A.

Yelp
I had a great stay, my room was super clean, loved the pool, the gym and the food. I stayed on the 18th floor and the view was amazing. Hotel staff were very very welcoming. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Great stay! Nicely updated. Club level access includes a a very complete continental breakfast and a buffet mini lunch that would fill up anyone.

Yelp
I would give it 5 stars if it had free wifi.... The Canadian Head Office for my company is located right across the street from this hotel. I've visited 3 times in the last two years and stayed in 3 different hotels within a 2 block radius. This one is BY FAR the best of them. I was sick during my most recent trip in July 2014. I came down with an awful flu right before my trip. The bed was so comfortable... Even though I felt absolutely awful, I immediately felt at ease when I crawled into bed fairly early. I was also happy to see that there was tea in the room. Also helped me feel a bit better. The view is absolutely amazing. The hotel is clean... I found nothing wrong in my room. And the toiletries were actually very good quality! The shower pressure was very good and the tub looked so clean that I actually considered taking a bath... but opted to go to bed any way. I didn't hear any noise from the other rooms or hallways and I was able to sleep comfortably through the night. This will definitely be my regular hotel in Montreal.

Yelp
Not really an exciting hotel but good location for my trip purposes, within walking distance to plenty of shops, eateries, cafe's, Bell Centre, subway, and even a few churches and Cathedrals. It's a 15-20 min walk to Old Montreal, Harbor Area, and Chinatown. Even with construction, it was easy to walk most places. The hotel is a little dated, even the updated rooms don't really feel fresh, but they are comfortable and pretty standard for a chain hotel. The room we had was an "upgraded deluxe" and it had a small minifridge, 2 small complimentary water bottles, and a shower only no tub. The shower has moderate to weak water pressure but has a detachable shower head sprayer (not a true dual, when you use the detatchable portion the overhead portion is off). The staff are friendly and efficient. The elevators are very fast and there are plenty of them. The gym is large and nicely appointed with many treadmills, stairclimbers, bikes, a rowing machine, freeweights, free earbuds, towels, water available. The pool area is small but looked nice and clean.
google avatar

Shamir P.

Yelp
Get four stars for the location and it is clean. It also has an underground parking which is convenient. This Sheraton has to be one of the oldest Sheraton's I have ever stayed in. It is in desperate need of renovations. I can't believe Marriott has not forced this hotel do some renovations.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a tough one to review. Stayed here MANY times throughout the years. For every major UFC event back several years ago, this was our hotel of choice when commuting from the GTA. The elevators are quick, hotel lobby bar is beautiful, and the 37th floor lounge has great views and potential. Love the pool area and smoked a bunch of nice joints on their 6th floor terrace. Unlimited bottled water now is an AMAZING touch, so THANK you for that. BUT. After coming here for so long, there is a lot to not like as well.. The rooms are quite tired man. Stucco everywhere looks tacky, tons of cracks in it as well. Showerheads that are oriented completely wrong and flood the washroom because they spray off the walls. SMALL as hell. Lobby bar closes too early. 37th floor lounge closes too early and to make things worse won't allow you to bring outside food or drink. No "pet welcome kit" like you'd get at the Westin where they provide little bowls and a bed.. Regardless, I still have just too many fond memories of this hotel to rate it worse than 4 stars
google avatar

Denis V.

Yelp
Lobby bar is a great athmosphere. I have had much better steaks, but the Macallan is on point! Great Gym! Probably one of the biggest hotel gym's I have been to in downtown Montreal. Rooms are in line with Sheraton quality and standards. Comfortable beds. Sheraton Club lounge is great. Nice bar for hors d'œuvres and decent spread for breakfast.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
This hotel has great potential. It is partially renovated and when it is done it will bring it up to the Marriott /Sheraton standards that most seasoned travellers will expect. The location is fabulous for hockey games at the Bell Centre, restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. Close to old Montreal and Chinatown and walkable to many things nearby. The restaurant in the hotel has a food variety of choices as well as a local specialty on its menu of a Montreal smoke meat sandwich if you don't want to go out and get it. If you are a Bonvoy elite or have access to the Club Lounge then there is breakfast and late afternoon hors d'oeuvres while you sit atop the 37th floor admiring the views of la belle province! Exceptionally run lounge and when you are greeted by the manager , Samantha she gives you a bright and cheerful welcoming and all the staff give exceptional service. Will return to stay here as I don't need to check out any other property when I am in Montreal.

Yelp
OKAY, BUT NOT GREAT We just spent one night and day here. The location is excellent, but the rooms are tired and Motel 6ish. Coffee in the room is a plus. Location - 5 stars Service/Staff - 4 stars Room/Accommodation - 3 stars Value - 4 stars

Yelp
This is a meh hotel. It is a conference hotel primarily I believe, so the people booking the rooms, the conference organizers, aren't really staying there. they will get some nice rooms, many of the rest of the rooms are meh. here are too many meh: not all ice machines work internet requires you to ID yourself (should get VPN) no fridge in room, no microwave price is a little high parking seems quite high service is quite variable pool is not very big beer in hotel bar is over priced Not at all meh: the concierge folks are great nice views snackys in a bowl in the bar, like bits-n-bites/meli-melo, but different

Yelp
A place for disappointment. Tried so hard to like this place. Staff clearly instructed to ask if they can do anything to make your stay better, but ultimately unable to do anything to make your stay better. It would be funny if it were not so sad. Many chances, each one wasted. In my room: * Disgusting food-stained glass with human hair, placed in the "clean" position on a coaster in the bathroom (photo included). * Potato chips on floor next to bed (photo included), that I told front desk about, even showed a photo of -- but the potato chips are still there now, 3 DAYS LATER. I would tell them again, but have completely given up on "service" here. * Brown stains on inside bowl sides of toilet on my initial arrival, no prizes for guessing. Front desk lady was incredibly courteous and offered me free breakfast for my poor experience, despite me telling her this would most likely be useless to me since I had to work early each morning. She was so very kind and professional, but again, a "solution" of zero value to me, even after I told her so. And the piece de resistance: an unexpected request for $400 in billing on something that I had asked THREE separate staff about with NONE of them mentioning such a charge. The short story of this follows, but it's not even worth mentioning. You don't need to read it to know to stay away. Called weeks before arriving for a 4 night stay, asked if there was a room I could use to practice dance for ONE hour on ONE evening, along with a stereo or even an alarm clock for music. Was told this would be no problem, not to worry. No mention of any charge. Was even reassured I needn't have called long distance just to ask this, hotel would easily accommodate. On the day I needed the room for an hour, Maitre D' said he would take care of it. No mention of charges. I receive an email later saying I should pay $200 to use the room, and ANOTHER $200 for stereo rental. That's right: "no problem" had become "no problem for $400." Contacted the Catering Manager to decline the room/charge. She told me I should have checked with someone other than front staff, since they did not know the cost of using hotel facilities. So... two hotel staff can tell you something is no problem, without mentioning any charges, but at the Sheraton it is still THE GUEST'S JOB to find someone ELSE to check with about something that is going to be billed at $400. Wow. Such customer service. Needless to say, I will not be back. Unless you like dirty glasses, food waste on the floor, stains from other waste in your toilet, and unexpected requests for billing, I strongly recommend you stay far, far away from here also.
google avatar

Bong B.

Yelp
You get what you expect for the price you pay. However, I don't know if I was just unlucky but I didn't get what I asked for, twice... The first time, I requested a robe to my room. They said it was coming right away but it never did. The second time, I ask the cleaning person to come back later, at a specific time. She said it would be taken care of and again, it never did. Otherwise, the club on the 37th floor is very pleasant. And they have a very nice set of rooms for big events

Yelp
Everything I posted in last review is still true. Boring but solid business hotel with an amazing indoor pool. I have to say the internet has been going downhill though. It's never been the fastest but I found Sheraton@Link(exec club upstairs and lobby downstairs) totally unusable for the duration of my entire trip this time. The room "Sheraton" was also slow, breaking up Skype calls regularly. Still usable but only barely. I worked around it by using a hotspot (3g speeds with international roaming but that's enough for most of what I do) so I am not going to downgrade too much but in my heart I am thinking 3.5 and maybe a 3 if it's not fixed next time I come.

Yelp
Spent 5 nights here. Very clean and comfortable. Our king room was spacious with a sofa and desk. Firm mattress with snugly bedding. Excellent service. Remote didn't work and someone immediately arrived at our door with a new one - turned out my purse was blocking the sensor. My husband's toothbrush broke, someone immediately arrived with 2 new ones. Good food at the bistro for breakfast. The crepes (pancakes) are excellent. The bar has a surprisingly good dinner menu, with fast service and a varied menu with chef quality food. The location was perfect for us. A short walk to the tourist center where we caught the free bus to the casino, and a tour bus to Quebec City. Lots within walking distance including the underground. The concierge service was also excellent, with lots of good ideas. We'd definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Booked the Centre Sheraton via Expedia pour mon voyage a Montreal. Arrived around 11pm. One guest services agent manning the station with a build up of guests slowly trickling in. Wasn't the friendliest and although I'm a pretty smart cookie and can figure out where the elevators are, she neglected to mention them (as she had to the previous guest). I'm a huge fan of consistency when it comes to the service industry. Check-in was painless since everything was already prepaid. Booked a double room. The bed was a little too soft for my liking but the pillows were heavenly. The bathroom was well equipped. Bonus points for a powerful hairdryer and water efficient toilets. Penalty points for weak water pressure from the showerhead and and a soap dish that was placed retardly high which with an accident-prone gal like me means screaming tabernac many times as my elbow rams into it without remembering its existence. There was a rowdy crowd of teenage boys next door but that was easily remedied as the guest services desk sent someone up within minutes to give them a warning. That didn't do much, but I guess other neighbors also complained and a second warning at the door finally got them to leave the hotel for whatever club venue they were pre-drinking for. This Sheraton pales in comparison to the Toronto one in many ways. Being a much older hotel it didn't have an iPod alarm clock - and Murphy's Law of course was in full force as a forgetful me neglected to bring my iPhone charger. Other things that I deduct points for: charging for LOCAL phone calls and charging for wireless internet! All in all a pretty good location. I walked everywhere other than catching a cab to escape the cold and get to dinner.

Yelp
Located 2 blocks away from both the Bell Center and Montreal's main drag. Saint Catherine's. Le Center Sheraton is in the perfect location to explore Montreal. Hotel is large, clean, well maintained and safe with an well trained and motivated staff who I've come to know quite well after almost 7 years of staying here on my many visits. Rooms are fairly large and updated with excellent beds, linens, huge flat screen TVs,powered personal safes and coffee makers. Call about 24 hours ahead to request a room on the higher floors to insure you'll get king sizes beds and late check outs if eligible and for God's sake make sure they don't assign a room above the heated pool on the 6'th floor or you'll be breathing in pool chlorine and looking through windows blurred with condensation for your entire stay. If there is anything to complain about it is the expensive valet parking { $32.00/day} ,the totally unnecessary and uninspiring restaurant and bar {there's a excellent beer garden and restaurant right across the street} and the fact that in room WIFI is not free except for some promotional months and only if you're a Starwood card member.

Yelp
Got the room on Priceline for $90. Good, central location. Tried to avoid $25 parking fee by parking on the street outside the hotel -- it's a no parking zone between 6 and 7:30 am -- so I ended up spending extra with my $42 ticket. ($12 all night at the lot right behind the hotel, by the way.) Starbucks in the room is nice. The hotel seemed not-brand-new but not showing signs of aging, and the room was incredibly clean. Our view from the 8th floor was of Mont Royal & the surrounding office buildings...not a bad view at all. I agree with the other reviewer that there isn't too much local flavor to the hotel, but I think most chain hotels are that way. One block away from the shops & restaurants on Ste. Catherine is also fantastic...never a worry about where to eat -- it's deciding that's the hard part. I'd absolutely stay here again!

Yelp
Le Centre Sheraton is centrally located for travellers to Montreal. Walking distance to most of the tourist location. Close to 2 Metro Stations and just a stone throw away from Bell Centre if you are in town for some Hockey action. Being a big hotel, it does attract a lot of hockey fans, party goers during the weekend and it can get a little rowdy. Our Corner room though is really spacious and have a great view even a glimpse of the river itself. Washroom is huge! Without free wifi though really doesn't cut it! Though you can get a signal downstairs in the lobby.......

Yelp
This hotel has everything you need. Restaurants, hot tub, gym, souvenir shops, jewelry store, meeting rooms. Though I didn't spend too much time in the rooms, but for the short amount of hours I did; it was cool. I would recommend them to anyone visiting Montreal.

Yelp
Meh - totally unexciting hotel with nothing to recommend it, especially with so many other upscale options available within a stone's throw. I don't have much to add to other reviews so I will summarize my experience (and that of others): a) lackluster check-in experience, bordering on rude but not quite. b) Our room was tiny, I mean really small. Washroom too. And this was apparently an upgraded room as I am an spg member. c) poor food options: either the bar that doesn't open until 2:30 in the afternoon, or the restaurant that is pricey. d) no place to get coffee in the morning (although there are 2 Starbucks within walking distance, in other hotels), e) it was incredibly noisy one night, in the halls outside our room. Plus it needs a face lift. Would not return.

Yelp
I thought this was a 4 stars property, but.... I arrived at 1:30am in the morning The front desk was very nice, however she is very slow, she have to understand, is late, I been on the road all day, so she really need to speed things up Next morning, I went down stairs, I saw the bellman, and I asked, where is the concierge desk. He pointed me the desk and told me is not open till 11am. 11am?? People going on vacation, time is counting, I don't want to stay in the room till 11am So I walked to the front desk, and the front desk agent saw me, didn't say Hi or Good morning, to me book, that unacceptable I asked, do you have any information for the Montreal, where is the must see places? He pointed me to the bellman. I walked back to the bellman and asked him the same information He replied: Yes, I do tours here and he handed me the Gray Line Bus Tour booklet I'm like what the hell? I need a map of downtown Montreal and some information where all the must see places. He replied: You have to wait for Concierge Later on that day, I went online and did some researched my self, and found out lot more information about Montreal, later in the evening, I asked my friend to go down stairs and check with the concierge how can we get to the basilica. He told my friend is only end of the block from the hotel. He must be losing his mind! The closes train is 3 blocks away, not a big deal, I from New York, I can walk 3 short blocks, but the problem is he giving us a incorrect information, not good The hotel is located downtown area, central of everything, close to the train station, many taxi parked at the back of the hotel, soonest you walk outside, is there. Many restaurants is walking distance, this hotel is located in 1201 Rene Levesque Boul West, is only 1 block walking distance from St Catherine Street, St Catherine Street is like a main street, many activities going on there, shopping, food, strip clubs. lol Now let's talk about inside the hotel This hotel have 2 elevators from the lobby to the underground garage, and 6 elevators from the lobby to rooms up stairs, I think the hotel have 35 floors, I'm on 31st, over see the city view Hotel room is basic, nothing really special or stand out Overall, 3 stars, hotel services, front desk, concierge, bellman, 1 star I'm not going to say I will not be back, but they do have many other options in that area, if you traveling there in a slow seasons, you might able to get a good rate

Yelp
I was in the lobby of the hotel and tried to order chicken wings to bring to my room... They refused to sell them to me in the restaurant to take to my room... "You have to order those through room service, we don't place orders to go in the restaurant or the bar "...why would I pay a room service charge and fees for an order of chicken wings!!! Absolutely ridiculous...horrible customer service... I spoke to the restaurant manager and a girl at the front desk... they don't care about customer service!! Seriously! For your convenience a 15% service charge and a $4 delivery charge will be added automatically... For your convenience .... Let's not forget about the wait after you place your room service order...LMAO

Yelp
Great hotel in a fantastic location! The room was comfortable with 2 double beds, mini fridge, safe, stand up shower, sitting chair and a table with outlets and USB ports in the center that could be raised or lowered. We were on the 26th floor with nice views of the water. The elevators are fast and the floors very quiet. The fitness center was impressive and the pool and hot tub of good size. There is also an outdoor sitting area on the pool and fitness center level which was quite nice. Ample parking via self park or valet and there were a few food options on site. Minus one star for a few reasons. First, check in with subpar compared to my other Marriott experiences. As a Lifetime Silver Elite, I like to be greeted and thanked for my loyalty. I did the mobile check in and was given my keys without and that was that. No mention of ammenities, if I needed parking, where to find the elevators, security, an offer of water, etc. Ok fine. Then we got to the room and found broken glass, only one robe and a few pills on the rug. Housekeeping came very quickly, but that seemed like it could have been avoided. Not a deal breaker since things happen and the housekeeping staff could not have been nicer or apologetic. Too bad the front desk wasn't as amenable. All in all a very pleasant stay and I hope the front desk welcome is better the next time we visit.

Yelp
Being that I only stay for 2 nights a year (and I have a feeling we'll be back again next year), and I still haven't reviewed this hotel, kinda surprising. But, here goes. The beds are beyond comfortable (at least, to me they are, I know, everyone has their own comfort level), but these beds... ugh, I almost didn't wanna leave the room. The rooms are always clean, always nice and fresh, I've never had a problem with dirty anything, the staff is always super friendly, and very helpful (being that my French, well, je parle peu, mais je apprendes, they were always quick with suggestions on places to eat, places to go. I do hope next year we get to stay here again, it's right in the middle of everything, quick walk to the underground mall, Rue de Saint Cathrine, the Bell Centre (GO HABS GO). I've never tried the bar or restaurant (not a big drinker), but it looks decent, look to someone else to find out about that. Only 2 things that I can really say. In the room I was in (not sure about bigger rooms), there's only 1 light switch for all the lights, AND the fan at the same time. Would be nice to be able to just go in quick to wash hands, without the need for the loud fan.. And the tv, maybe it was my room, but missing half the channels. NOT a big deal for me, and not sure if it's every room, but, something to think about.

Yelp
Booked with the spg platinum status that gave us all the perks at the Toronto location but they were unable to honour it here as it is the corporate location. When we asked for the perks they said no but did not offer it to us at the discounted price of $60.00 per night like they did for another guest who checked in right next to us. I could overhear them. We went back after dinner to confirm if we would definitely not be receiving the perks as we did at the Toronto location and they still did not offer it to us for $60.00. The check in staff was rude and unfriendly, needless to say I will NEVER stay at this location ever again. If you are looking for a place to stay, while the location is great, their customer service is appalling. I would recommend a different hotel who actually wants to ensure their customers are satisfied with the service they are giving. For a hospitality service trying to make sure your guests have a pleasant stay, this is not the way to do it at all.
