Le Champ Des Oiseaux

We stayed at Hôtel Le Champ des Oiseaux on New Year’s Eve as a stopover on our journey, and it was absolutely charming, full of character. The staff were excellent and made sure we were well looked after throughout our stay. Each of the reception rooms was beautifully decorated, and the town itself was lovely, filled with festive Christmas cheer. Our bedroom was very sweet and impeccably clean. We would definitely stay again. As I hadn’t booked parking or dinner in advance, the staff were incredibly helpful, ensuring we had a parking space and providing great dinner options and recommendations.

One of the best boutique hotels we were in for a long time. The staff is awesome with a “ let us know how we can help” attitude, great decor, great renovated rooms, great breakfast and perfect location in the lovely Troye town. Definitely a place to come back to!

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Unable to give it 5 stars, only option on Trip Advisor was up to 4 stars . Don’t know why the error on the web site but Deserves “6” stars. Hidden Gem. Perfect in every way. Great location, room was truly lovely . We were 3 couples, check in was easy, staff helped with our luggage. Room was a picture of French country design. A comfortable, well appointed room which was spotless, spacious and cozy. Public parlors were elegant with furniture covered in luscious fabrics, books to read and view, staff to serve you a cocktail and a charming dining room. Only mistake we made was not booking dinner when we reserved the room. It was a beautiful dining room. We had breakfast there which was delicious and beyond plentiful with A+ service. Warm and friendly staff all around. My husband went to the desk to inquire about a cup of morning coffee and they insisted on bringing the coffee to us. They delivered the coffee to us on a tray with a fresh pressed pot and China service. We could not have been better served. Hotel was perfect.

We arrived at 6pm and were warmly welcomed, helped with our baggage and parking our car. The hotel is very attractive and our room - la Chapelle - had recently been renovated. Dinner and breakfast by the fire were very enjoyable and the staff couldn’t have been nicer.

We found this hotel via the Guide Michelin as we needed a stopover on our way to the Dordogne. I contacted the hotel via email to explain we were travelling with a young dog and ideally would like a room on the ground floor. The hotel responded promptly to suggest a room in Le Champ des Oiseaux rather than the slightly more expensive La Maison des Rhodes. ||The room was perfect, easily accessible with the dog, beautifully decorated with very comfy beds. ||Upon check-in, I enquired about a restaurant and the young lady at reception immediately offered to call and check if dogs were allowed and made a reservation for us. ||The hotel is in a great location, less than a 5-minute walk to the city centre with lots of bars and restaurants but in a quiet little side street. The hotel has been renovated to a very high standard whilst respecting its origin and history. If you stay here, I suggest you have a look at the photo book that shows what it looked like before and after. It is quite an amazing transformation. |The staff were fantastic, very friendly and provided great customer service. |Breakfast was lovely too, forget buffets with lukewarm dishes, if you want a hot breakfast, you can choose from a little menu, and it is freshly cooked and delicious. |We reserved and paid for the private parking the hotel offers which I would recommend as the hotel is in a narrow street with no real parking spots. However, they do have some recommendations on their website, but we found it was worthwhile paying for the private one. |I strongly recommend this hotel, and we would definitely stay here again in the future.

We loved this hotel- super close to the cathedral in the amazing town of Troyes - we had a large dog with us and staff were amazing - super kind - cannot recommend this place enough. -ambience of hotel and town really lovely - will definitely be back !

A beautiful place to stay for a night on the way from Provence back to the Eurotunnel (we would happily have stayed an extra night). Really pretty old hotel with very attentive staff and a beautiful courtyard. It’s a couple of minutes walk to the very attractive town centre where there’s a big choice of restaurants. There’s no private parking so the choice is squeezing into on-street spaces or driving a couple of minutes to the nearest underground car park which the hotel can give you a 5 euro ticket for. Double bedroom was small but nicely appointed, although no air conditioning, just a fan. Would recommend. The sister hotel next door is 5-star, this was the slightly cheaper option, although the very small swimming pool and either courtyard could be used by all residents.

We were the sole guests in this hotel for two nights in December. First impression was that it was "Olde Worlde" and needed modernisation, but things did improve. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and bath were excellent. Breakfast was superb with individual orders cooked freshly and delivered to our table. (No help yourself here!). The staff were very friendly and helpfuland minor issues were resolved quickly. It would take just a couple of minor improvements to get full marks. The room was rather dark; the safe antiquated and hard to reach , for example.|But overall, it was a very enjoyable stay.

Right in the heart of the city of Troyes, below the cathedral and the old bishop's palace. A charming timber frame dwelling. The building has been beautifully restored and provides a charming and relaxing environment in which to stay. The hotel staff is extremely accommodating and welcoming.
