Our three night stay was the beginning of a three week vacation through France, Spain and Portugal. Le Chateau Real is an oasis. Travel weary and ready to eat leather, we were greeted with our prearranged wine and charcuterie board. We sat by the pool…decompressed and felt like we were in a slice of life void of chaos and noise. We had booked the room at the top overlooking the vineyard. Pictures don’t begin to do this stay any justice but it is a start. Kelly and her husband were welcoming. Breakfast was perfect. Note that Le Chateau Real is in a quiet town without much to note but the countryside……it is incredible . We drove throughout the left bank the first day with the first stop in Vertheuil and then followed by stops at major wineries ( pictures only), lunch in Pauillac (La Salamandre), and an enjoyable tasting at chateau Loudenne. Dinner was at La Maison de l’estournal..The meal reviewed later was so enjoyable. The following day we headed to Saint Emilion, spent the day and then grabbed the Blaye ferry back. Can not express enough positive reviews about our stay and time on the left bank.If you are looking for true French countryside with warm and welcoming hosts, look no further.

We just spent 3 weeks in France and Spain. and Chateau Real was the highlight of our trip. The Chateau is a beautiful old house that has been restored to its current modern state. Our room looked very modern as if it had been renovated in the last year or so. The grounds and the pool are so nice to relax in after a day of touring around Bordeaux. And Kelly & Elian could not have been nicer hosts. The breakfast was amazing every day. We had to leave early one day, and thought we would have to forgo breakfast, but Kelly let us know that the croissants were almost out of the oven if we could just stay a couple more minutes. They bake their own croissants. And they were delicious.

Had a very magical experience staying at Le Chateau Real. Kelly and Elian are fantastic hosts and they've created a very special space. We enjoyed staying in the Monsieur Real Suite -- spacious and with a beautiful terrace. Breakfast each morning was the perfect start to the day. And the guide book they offer provides a lot of recommendations for the area. If you want to be situated directly amongst premier Grand Cru Classe chateaus, with less than an hour drive to cute beach towns like Soulac, Le Chateau is a very good choice and value.

Big clean rooms, nice pool area. Simple breakfast. Easy parking for the car. In the heart of the wine area so good location for exploring the wine producers. However keep in mind that for dinner, driving min 15min with the car is needed.

Small guest house run by the owners. Really nice, stylish rooms. Beautiful relaxed pool area. Small but good breakfast. You have the option of a cheese / mixed plate or a light 3 course meal for dinner when ordering in advance - which is a really nice option as the place is very quiet, relaxed, and far away from restaurants etc. (at least when it comes to walking distance). Would definitely recommend it to friends.

We had an amazing time at chateau Real. The chateau has been completed to a very high standard. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious. We had the charcuterie board on arrival which was magnificent. Our suite was big as was the bed and very comfortable. We couldn’t fault our stay at all, we would definitely return

Chateau Real is a very convenient location if you travel Bordeaux via car. The host (Kelly and Ellen) are very nice couple and able to answer our enquiries. The decoration and facility are very well design and very clean which makes us feel like home. They also provide local breakfast which are fresh and home style feel. We highly recommend for people who would like to stay in "home & family feel" style Chateau hotel. I wish we can come again in summer to try their nice swimming pool but we did already have fun around the vine yard area.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Le Chateau Real. The Chateau is absolutely gorgeous and not one detail is missed. Beautifully decorated, excellent service and amazing food. We decided to have dinner at the Chateau one evening and we loved all 3 courses. Additionally, upon booking, we received a PDF version of a guestbook full of recommendations for different wine stops, and restaurants in the area. The recommendations were fabulous and we enjoyed every spot that we visited. Each morning we were served a delicious and fresh breakfast. The rooms are both spacious, so clean, and extremely comfortable. We are sad to see our stay at Le Chateau Real come to an end, and we cannot recommend it enough to anyone who considers booking it! Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing few days !
