Le Clervaux Boutique Hôtel (Clervaux, Luxembourg) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A magnificent hotel in the heart of a small town in the Luxemburg Ardennes. From the dining room to the guestrooms, you will be greeted by a stunning mixture of extravagant designer details. The vast well - being centre and two restaurants deserve a special mention!" - Tablet Hotels

Suites are spacious and comfortable with huge bathrooms and beds! Breakfast plentiful with good choice and restaurants are good quality and reasonably priced, Suites are part of the Koener Hotel and linked by an internal bridge to breakfast room and pool. However this isn't clear when booking. The email gives wrong check in info which is very confusing- reception is in Koener and finding your way around the hotel is quite a challenge as signage also confusing! Apart from that and irritating electropop background music at breakfast its a lovely hotel.

We stayed for 1 night with our 4 y.o. son who has never been in a hotel before :) For my husband and me it's not our first 4-star or 5-star hotel, though this one is really good and in excellent in "price/quality" ratio. Overall we enjoyed every aspect! Pros: * Nice breakfast with the variety to choose from (smoked fish was delicious!) * Swimming pool is included in the price (all supplies including bath robes, extra towels and slippers are provided as well as the ones in a child size), we visited it at about 6 pm, there were several people, but it was not crowded. * The room was really spacious. We requested a separate small bed for our son and it was ready and covered with linen, waiting us in the room. * Also we asked for an early check-in and the hotel employees did their best to provide it. Normally check-in is around 3-4 pm, we were in the room at approximately 1 pm. * The liquid soap in the bathroom smells exactly like it should smell in a really good hotel. It's a small detail, but it creates the atmosphere. * The staff was very nice and helpful overall. Cons: * The pillows are way too soft and not very comfortable to sleep * It was a bit challenging to find the hotel reception at the very first time (despite the fact that they sent all instructions and directions in a separate email in advance). We even had to call them and ask where are they :) It's a bit confusing since there are 2 hotels with different names on booking.com and on google maps in the same building and they share the reception, swimming pool etc.

We picked this hotel for the location in Luxembourg, and also because we knew we wanted a nice hotel with AC as the summers have been getting increasingly hot. The location was superb.. we so loved running up to the church each morning, walking to the Abbey, visiting the castle on our first afternoon, hiking in the woods. However , the entire hotel is a bit befuddling. It doesn’t know what it wants to be. The hotel is made up of 3 buildings it appears, and there are corridors and elevators and entrances..it also has three restaurants that it tries to manage as well, along with a spa. Our room was spacious, which was nice, but the decor was not attractive. The AC did not output very much at all, and each night we were sweating. The toilet is located in a very small room in the bedroom, and to wash your hands you leave it to go to a large bathroom away from the bedroom. One can’t open the window in the bathroom, and it was very warm in there as well. On the plus side, the rooms were very clean, and the restaurant staff were hustling to serve everyone. Because of the location I would stay there again, but I can’t give it a 5 star rating.

Though the room was comfortable, it was dark and you could not see anything. The lights are inadequate and the light switches difficult to understand. We thought the whole concept was over designed and had no warmth. It looked as though the hotel complex had been put together by a committee. You got lost trying to find anything. There were no laundry bags and hardly any soaps/shampoos. The staff were very friendly though at checkout I was given - and paid for - an incomplete invoice. They had failed to include the dinner even though I reminded them to add it to the bill. We had to phone in our credit card details later in the day while on the road to the Netherlands.

We were there for 1 night for this years Valentine's Day: the hotel itselfs was nice, the massage we had was good, The Valentine's Day Dinner was OK, food quality was good but nothing exceptional, the restaurant itself was however old fashioned and needs a refreshing. The Breakfast buffet on the other hand was great and very complete. The rooms are nice BUT with however some negative issues considering the price you pay: - no hot water in the morning !! - the pillow was far to "big" and could not be flattened, making it a restless night - no door to the bathroom so either the room is to hot or the bathroom to cold - the handkerchief's box was empty at our arrival (a detail, sure) Considering the price we paid, the hotel is over-rated and to expensive for what you get.

Upon arrival it was a bit unclear to us where the check-in was, after looking around a bit this is located in the Koener hotel. The spa area is also shared with this hotel if I saw correctly. The room was beautiful and spacious and the bathroom was just phenomenal! However it was very hot in our room and you can’t regulate the temperature yourself, you can only choose the strength of the AC which we had on blast the whole stay, but it didn’t really cool our room down much. The bed was a bit too soft for our liking and the pillows were just way too big. Also the first night from 12am till 4am a light above the door went on that I couldn’t turn off so it kept me awake because it lit up the whole room. If this is a safety light then it’s understandable that it turns on but maybe just switch it to a less bright light. Only the weird thing was that the second night it didn’t turn on. We enjoyed our stay but I definitely think that the hotel is overrated and too pricy.

Check-in process was from the middle ages. Too long. ||Spa services were below expectations - no welcome. The receptionist told us no swimwear allowed but everyone inside was wearing swimwaer, so very awkward. The pool area was with swimwear which made no sense. Why would a guest go in and out to change clothes when moving from wellness spaces to pool. the pool was filled with children.||There was no water in the water tank.||Coffee was charged at 3 Euros.||Tea was served in a self dispenser with tea bags, not proper tea leaves. ||Reception of the hotel is super confusing. ||No help with luggage, no indication of parking garage,||Food at italian restaurant was mediocre.||No turndown service||No welcome drink or a welcome note from the hotel staff / GM.||Nothing in the mini bar, not even extra water of soft drinks.||two capsules for the coffee. And we booked a premium suite.||No sense of arrival or welcome.||The staff looks tired and overworked, and not interested. not knowledgeable. ||Very disappointed! Expected more from a 5-star hotel and Cinq Mondes Spa.

We paid for an exclusive suite package, and the experience we had was less than luxurious to say the least. We had problems to park our car, the three course meal finished with the chef apologizing for serving us raw fries, the girls at the spa were upset that we didn't get a bathrobe in our rooms (not our fault)... The suite and spa were nice- but we were disappointed in the service we received from the staff. Clerveaux is a nice place but I cannot recommend staying in the hotel after such a sub-par experience from a luxury hotel.
