le clos basque

Before I get started, this restaurant is still signed and known as Le Clos Basque, but for the last 3 months is under new ownership and is now a French Japanese fusion restaurant actually called "Yume". The menu is short, but the food is superbly crafted by a Japanese chef from Osaka. Ahead of time I requested vegan or vegetarian dishes if possible. The chef prepared a completely vegan meal for me. The presentation and flavors were exceptional. My two companion dinners ate a la carte from the regular menu and we equally impressed with their meals. The restaurant also offers an excellent wine list. Note that the accompanying photos are of the dishes enjoyed by all the of us.

Food was good, but not Michelin level. Well priced (both wine and food). Starter very salty (crab/salmon), main lovely (one of us had fish, the other pork), desserts very basic. I believe this is one of the more long-standing restaurants in Biarritz. Doubt it would get a Michelin star if it came around today. Because of its price and friendly service I still think it is a nice place to go to. Older clientele, fully covered outdoor seating

Great food, great staff, and great location. If you want the perfect, yet simple and honest dining experience, this is the place !! We were saddened we couldn’t tip using cards, we had no cash on us, as the staff truly deserved it ! Till the next time , Thank you Clos Basque !!

Excellent food, excellent service, very pretty and typical place.. and not so expensive compared to Biarritz high standards. Highly recommend this place to whoever want to try typical basque food in an upscale environment

Petit restaurant, typique. Accueil sympathique, plats savoureux, fait maison. Service au top, il faut simplement ne pas trop se laisser tenter par les propositions des serveurs, car c'est très bon et on aurait tendance à manger tout même quand on a plus faim 🤣. On reviendra sans problème
