This is a very tasteful boutique hotel. Small but perfectly formed. We were greeted with charm and help and the room and facilities were elegant and airy. The location is good for the centre of town and very quiet. We were there only overnight but would love to return for a longer stay. Bordeaux is an interesting and varied town. This is a great base for exploration. Breakfast in their beautiful dining room was good too and the people looking after us were immenely helpful.

First thing to say is that this is a guesthouse, not a hotel. If you are looking for full hotel services, room service, 24 hour reception, etc. then this is not for you. If however you want stunning french, understated decor, large rooms with great air conditioning in a quiet and central location, then this is a great place. I would also suggest that this is really a place for couples rather than families.||||We just got back from a 4 day stay. We were on the first floor in room 2. It was a big and beautiful room and even though we were in a street facing room, it was quiet which is important as my Husband is a light sleeper. Bathroom was huge and had a great shower and bath. Very clean and just a great place to stay.||||Breakfasts were lovely, simple but delicious and nice.||||Service was wonderful. I was emailing before we arrived looking for advice on restaurants, wine tours as well as taxis. The email responses were fast and very friendly. When we there there, Margot was great and booked a couple of wonderful restaurants for us. She was very helpful, welcoming and so nice. We felt for her as on our first day, there was a couple who were really rude to her, and Margot's response was very professional. Not sure I could have been as nice as she was!||||Beautiful area and about a 10 -15 minute walk to the centre, it was nice not to be in the middle of it all.||||What could be better? We would have liked a safe in our room but we made do by locking our bags. I think that the service is at it best with Margot, her colleague's breakfast spread was not as good. So the consistency was not there but it was not materially different.||||We will definitely want to return to stay here, and we fell in love with Bordeaux!

Absolutely loved our stay at Le Clos d'Emile. If you like a luxury stay but don't want to stay in a big soulless hotel, this is the coolest kind of boutique hotel... a unique sense of personality, lovely warm welcome, staff can't do enough to help you with great local recommendations and genuinely want you to have a great time. And the rooms are SO comfortable.||The hotel is on a little quiet street next to a lovely park and the interiors are very cool. ||The rooms are so beautiful and the beds are enormous. The only improvement would be a more powerful shower, which are a bit old school and you have to jump about in to get wet.||Breakfast was perfect French continental style, and there is a lovely garden at the back of the hotel. Every night the staff lay out cheese and wine in the lounge for you to enjoy and there was also a nice bar selection left out. ||Would definitely come back!

Thank you for a beautiful stay. The hotel and welcome made our trip in Bordeaux just perfect. ||The rooms are spacious and delightful, beautiful bathrooms and great French breakfast. ||Margot, the hotel Manager, made our stay easy and gave us some great restaurant recommendations just a walk away from the very central position of the hotel (next to the beautiful parc "jardin public").||Thanks again and we look forward to coming back.

After many years of visiting Bordeaux this is by far the best b&b we have ever stayed in. It’s elegant, stylish beautifully decorated rooms are a delight. But then everything in Clos d’Emile is done with tremendous thought and care. Guests come first. |Big rooms, comfy beds and sparkling bathrooms. Lots of careful thought and planning has gone into this very small (5 bedroom) hotel. Unlike larger competitors with their impersonal stack of sleeping rooms. |Quietly positioned overlooking Bordeaux’s most central garden, I suspect it gets very booked up April-September. |If I could give it 6 stars I would.

The hotel is five rooms located on a quiet one way street. The accommodations were detailed and comfortable. Wi-Fi was excellent. The breakfast included was complete. Great coffees and teas. The hosts were very helpful with dinner recommendations and reservations. The downtown districts and parks are very close. For some it may be a problem with three flights of stairs. No elevator. Enjoyed our stay very much.

We stayed two flights up at the front. Windows opening on to the quiet street, a large modern bathroom. Staff were helpful and responsive before we arrived - preferred restaurants weren't available and the one suggested by the hotel we did get into was a weak link but c'est la vie. Only real complaint was the soap/shampoo made in China -- a faux pas for any French hotel, especially a small hotel de charme like this one. Breakfast is served on the lower level and was perfect - fruit, yogurt and local honey, fresh bread and good butter, some nice cheese and cafe au lait - a fine start to a day walking around the city. The location is excellent - adjacent to the Jardin Public, in the midst of major attractions. I'd be glad to return.

We were greeted by a password entry door, within was a Prive space , very classically done , Home and Hearth feel. Room was not that big, but very well done with a fireplace , bathroom good space with classy amenities. Breakfast was good in a cute cellar , Contemporary & Elegant I must say!
