"When chef Christophe Baquié, formerly at the Hotel & Spa du Castellet, decided to hang up his apron and explore something new, he and his wife Alexandra found the postcard-perfect Provencal farmhouse surrounded by fruit orchards and an olive grove that would offer the extreme opposite of a Relais & Châteaux mega-resort experience. At Le Mas des Eydins, hidden away in a valley near Bonnieux, there are only five rooms, one suite and one studio; similarly, dining is an intimate affair with ten tables and one nightly fixed menu. The concept: to be closer to guests, like a maison de famille, with the added perk of utter peace, save rustling leaves and whirring cicadas. Nothing beats lounging at the dreamy pool beside a fragrant lavender field, but there’s also plenty to do and see in the Luberon. The spacious neo rustic rooms, designed by Alexandra, are a restful mix of grey, taupe and white, with exposed beam ceilings. Come dinnertime, Baquié serves an exquisitely refined six-course feast (plus tantalizing amuse-bouche tidbits and mignardises) to celebrate Provence—“modern” aioli with octopus, courgette flowers, lamb, langoustine, plus a cornucopia of local cheeses, cherries, strawberries, wild fennel, chocolate-olive madeleines, plus homemade elderberry sake to be savored under the stars. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in! Rooms were excellent and the view over the valley cannot be beat. Staff was also extremely nice and helpful. Bonnieux is such a charming small town with great restaurants and is just enough off the beaten path to not be crowded.

Le Clos Du Buis is our first stop in the Luberon trip and we are not disappointed by the stay. From arriving our host Pierre has made every effort to ensure we are well look after. Hotel itself is impeccabily clean, super tasteful and no small detail is overlooked. A fully (I mean really fully) equipped kitchen means we get to enjoy a bit of cooking ourselves living like the locals. Ample parking space too right next to the hotel. Location-wise Bonnieux is the perfect middle spot for any Luberon / Provence adventure. I recommend without reservation.

Arrived after hiking more than 16km’s from Apt through the mountains, forests and vineyards of Provence. Pleasantly surprised by the beautiful room and bathroom. Twin beds as we are mother and son doing the hike together. Great reception and very friendly staff. Excellent location to explore the beautiful old town of Bonnieux. Highly recommended!

Wow..what an absolutely beautiful place this is. Loved every minute of our 3 night stay and I wish it was longer. I have never seen such a place as clean as this, every detail was attended to. Selene and Sophie were so lovely 😍. The breakfast is to die for and the view is out of this world. Everyone so helpful with so much useful information. Thank you for having us, wish I didn't have to leave 😢

We spent two nights here and loved it. The grounds are quite lovely and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We would love to come here again and we are still missing the sparkling water machine. :) Breakfast was very nice here with lovely views. Rooms are nicely sized and very quiet and the area is gorgeous.

Yelp
Superb! A tremendous place to stay! It's charming, comfortable, and all the staff are wonderful! It may be the best Bed and Breakfast (B & B) type inn we have ever stayed at. Pierre, the owner, was always available to help with breakfast, directions, anything. Sophie was delightful, funny, service-conscious in French or English. She was fun! Céline, Pierre's daughter, was similarly friendly and very helpful. The inn has everything any traveler could need: a scrumptious buffet breakfast each morning, a guest kitchen with a fridge and light cooking facilities, a clothes washer and dryer, a swimming pool, and a very pretty rear patio and yard for relaxing. Wifi was always working, another plus. Our room on the ground floor, "Provence", was very comfortable, with an enormous modern bathroom with both a tub and shower, as well as its own window/door exit to the street. We loved our 5 days here and recommend Le Clos du Buis to anyone considering visiting the Luberon area. The village percé of Bonnieux is perhaps the most pretty of all the hilltop villages in the area. If we are in the area in the future, we would definitely come back to Le Clos du Buis. 10 stars!!!
