Le Clos Saint-Martin Hotel Spa

The hotel is really a 5 Star as the rooms, food and facilities are all excellent. The 2 pools are spotless. What makes the hotel extra special are the staff. The rooms are presented beautifully - spotlessly clean each day. The restaurant staff, bar staff, pool staff, parking staff, reception staff cannot do enough to help. They take ‘attentive’ to a new level. We’ll return 100%. Tip: arrive lunchtime or early afternoon if you have a car as the car park is quite compact.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we got 5 star treatment from the staff. The staff are so friendly and courteous and can’t do enough for their guests. The hotel itself is spotless with two separate pools, one for families with children and a separate for adults only. A beautiful walk into the town is less than 10 minutes. We had a fabulous breakfast with such a huge variety. I would definitely love to go back and would highly recommend this hotel for a lovely vacation!

Great hotel - the staff (plenty of them) cannot do enough for you. What a lovely smallish hotel with a 5 star service. Great position - 2 min walk into the harbour. Breakfasts are superb and served until late. We will return. Car park is 'compact', so book in advance & don't arrive too late

What a delightful hotel/retreat. We booked as a couple in our first visit to Ile de Rey. Somehow we had double booked but that was not an issue and the reception cancelled one of the bookings and transferred the deposit to the other without any fuss. The hotel had arranged a transfer from the Gare at La Rochelle which worked out great. The staff are genuinely friendly and efficient. We felt very welcome. The rooms are immaculate with excellent quality furniture and fittings. The beds and bedding are very comfortable. Breakfast provided a wide range of food and drinks to cater for all tastes. Even oysters on Saturday morning! The pools (there are two) are clean and the sunbeds comfortable. We didn't eat at the hotel in evening as there is a limited menu and there are so many restaurants at the port and in town it seemed more natural to dine out. I don't think providing meals is that important for the hotel. The lunch menu was very limited. There is a spa which we made use of. Very cold plunge bath, jacuzzi and steamroom/hammam. Bike hire from the hotel is very easy. I would definitely recommend staying at Le Clos Saint-Martin.

I had the opportunity to visit the Clarins Spa and have a « Bord de Mer » massage. The spa is very relaxing, well designed and with luxury amenities. The massage itself was very professional, in a very quiet and peaceful environment. I strongly recommend it to anyone.

We enjoyed our short stay at this hotel on the beautiful island of Ile de Re. We chose this hotel as it had an EV charger. We are experienced EV drivers but for convenience we always choose properties for our holidays with chargers. The parking was in a small space for todays very large cars but we did request a space and did eventually get on the charger. Our room was comfortable with a great bathroom. The bed was very comfortable with great pillows. There are no drawers for clothes but we asked for extra hangers and managed but hanging most things. The hour in the Spa every day ( all in the room price) was a lovely touch which we found very relaxing. Sun beds around the two pools were also excellent. Breakfast was very comprehensive and good. The stand out feature at this hotel are the staff. They are friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We look forward to staying again in the future.

We went with friends and when we settled on here at their request there was one higher price room 11 left that we gave them and took room 27. I am sure I would add more praise had we had a larger, better designed room. But for all the good things I will say later it is 3* for Room 27.||It has the bed too close to the only cupboards which are not large enough to allowe you fully to unpack. It has plenty of space for two casual chairs given the poor bed placement but only has one for sitting and reading. It over looks the first pool which had one very noisy child and adult playing in it when the weather was good.||Now many positives: Very Good Staff - Very Good location with safe parking you pay for. A much better breakfast than our next hotel and staff who serve well and keep things topped up. The adult pool is a delight after a day on the bikes. Their restuarant recommendations were good. Better room - higher review.||Finally last time we stayed in La Flotte which we love. But I have to say the more central location is better for bike exploration. You can get to the Phare and back more comfortably.

The hotel is perfectly placed on the edge of St Martin so is quiet but a convenient 5 minute walk through pretty, cobbled backstreets to the heart of the town around the harbour. There are two pools - one for kids and a quiet one for adults only. We liked our room - no 23 as it was quiet, spacious and had views across rooftops of the town one side and the pool the other. I suspect the ground floor rooms might feel too close to the pool on one side and too dark on the other.Only two grumbles about the room - not enough hooks for towels and robes making it difficult to get towels dry and we were trying to be eco and not to have them changed. The bathroom often looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned as towels were left exactly where we’d left them ie draped over the bath or squashed on the rail. The staff were all lovely - friendly and helpful. Worth booking the hotel parking at $20 euros a day. The nearby public one was $33. We didn’t try the spa as it seemed everything (even a manicure) was £195. WE’d certainly come back and highly recommend the hotel for families or couples.
