Le Club 55

I had a nice time here with my friend. We stayed on the beach and after had a meal at the restaurant. The stuff was very nice and professional, the service was smooth from the begging till the end. The food was very simple but good quality. I was expecting something more unique. But it was fun like you eating somewhere in the village with a 5* service and chic! The atmosphere was very happy and cool. I will go back, but I’ll choose something more interesting for the main cours then plat de jour. Very good for the family and friends groups lunch!

Disappointed as this was very hyped on social media and trip site reviews. Bland food. Bland veal Milanese, bland pasta (terrible), bland frites. The food came out very quickly, suggesting that it was already prepared—gross! And €16 water is ridiculous. Overhyped and underdelivered. However, the dessert was good, although extremely overpriced (€24 per plate). Will not return. BEACH CLUB: Will also not return. It’s cushions on the floor…no elevation.

What can you say that hasn’t been said before …. Spent the day here on the beach and then had a looooong and leisurely lunch. Beautifully effortless place to spend the day to enjoy the sun ☀️ and a delicious lunch. Can’t wait to go back and would recommend to anyone who wants to experience a classic Saint Tropez beach club

It's very crowded in the restaurant. Chaotic at times with all the waiters and people and singers. We sat closer to the beach, which was nicer. The food is ok. We lived the grilled sea bass and the artichoke. The rest was ok. The beach they have is also very nice with a nice gift shop. There is valet parking for free.

Honestly this place is very very sadly there only for the atmosphere. And even this got worse. Tables were very close together so you cannot go to the toilet without asking other seating guests to let someone through. The food and service is just nothing more than a catastrophe. ‘Home made fries’ cold. Sole grilled cold. Chicken far away from tasty. Really?!? It was soooo poor of taste and optic. Waiters were inattentive. Unfortunately there is nothing more to add.

Food was good and the great atmosphere made it better experience. The service can be improved. The location and beach were great!

Got to the beach club bright and early, with a reservation so I could get a spot directly on the front row. The club doesn’t provide towels, so visitors are subjected to buying the 100 euro ones in the gift shop. Because of this, vendors stalk this beach club the entire day, offering to sell towels. Between 10am-11am, there were maybe 5 people there, and the man stood directly in front of me, ruining my view, texting on his phone, waiting for more visitors to arrive. He then spent there entire day walking up and down our section of beach, soliciting. I took a walk passed 4 other beach clubs and none of them had this happening, presumably because Le Club 55 has the highest end clientele, but also because they famously don’t have towels when you rent chairs. I was not alone in being annoyed by this, and the number of vendors grew by the end of the day, including a couple who walk by offering massages and others had dresses and jewelry. But nothing is like the towel guys, who literally stand in your view THE ENTIRE DAY, offering towels to the same people who clearly already have towels and haven’t moved. As I tried to nod off around 3, two of them were talking loudly between themselves, about 10 yards away from each other, totally killing the relaxing sounds of the waves. I was very surprised to be at what is supposed to be the most exclusive private beach club in the French Riviera and not have management ask them to move along.

This is a pretty nice restaurant although for the prices I’d expect much better quality. It’s nice to have home grown vegetables and things- you can tell the owners are into the farm to table philosophy- but it is overpriced.

I'm wondering where some of the reviewers posted below have been eating. Certainly not in the same restaurant that I've been eating in for the last few years. Club 55 on the beach in Ramatuelle is a treasure that enhances anyone's experience in the vicinity of St. Tropez. We lunched there almost every day of our two weeks' sojurn at a nearby hotel. The owner and his daughter greeted us every day most graciously, the staff is relaxed and amusing, and the food is everything one would expect in a seaside restaurant. A great experience with a fabulous crowd, and we miss it every day that we are not there. Can't wait to be back.

We stopped by for a quick bite and some drinks. They staff was very busy but checked in throughout the time we were there. Although the waves were pretty large, and a good amount of wind, the view is always spectacular. The food was delicious and always impresses. This place isn't the cheapest but was certainly more than I expected. I've never been let down and I highly recommend enjoying some sun and food at this amazing staple in the Saint Tropez area.

The food here was less than ideal (and that's putting it nicely). Not only did the food taste old and reheated, the meat was cold, fruit spoiled, etc. The service was mediocre, somewhat rude staff, not helpful or wanting to do anything above the minimum. The ambience was as expected for a summer beach spot. If you hope to see the water while dining, try somewhere else.

Highway robbery. Food seems like it's precooked. My chicken breast was so hard I couldn't chew it. My son's hamburger they called the steak with no bun. Was well well done and Dry. My niece, tomato and goat cheese was not good. I guess if you ordered the fish people liked it. Service is not great and our check was way over what we were supposed to pay. When they noticed that we noticed they had to take a couple things off like the wine and an extra dish. Not going back for sure. Worst restaurant so far by the way, menus only come in French no English menus. And they don't like to explain like I said cold and rude.

Worst place ever!!!!! The server was very rude and the food terrible , very limited choice of cocktails . Don't waste your time coming here !!!

A classic and well known beach club in Saint Tropez. I love coming here because it's such a down to earth place. Of course it's also visited by the rich and famous. The beach is ok even, though the mattresses lay directly on the ground instead of being on a bed. The staff is amazing and friendly.

Great atmosphere and food, however be warned about the CRUDITÉ. The server casually asked us if we wanted crudité for our table of 10, which we agreed to. We were presented with an array of whole vegetables, including full tomatoes, uncooked artichoke and mushrooms, etc. Along with a nice anchovy dip and three boiled eggs. To our dismay, the unnavigable assortment of essentially raw produce cost €250..... beware.

Definitely a restaurant that gives you the vibe of being a St. Tropez jetsetter, especially if you are arriving by boat. Food is very good, and service is excellent. Certainly pricey, but not out of range of normal for an upscale venue. Might need a bit more of a wow-factor on the food side to get the fifth star, but would definitely recommend it.

The service was amazing, however the restaurant and beach were nothing like what I expected. The food was not great, they had a limited drink selection, and overall the restaurant was very unorganized and dirty (Bugs in bathroom, dining area very crowded with chairs and tables, sand all over the floor). The beach area was not nice at all either, the beach chairs were mattresses with a wooden back rest on top of it which I found weird. I would not recommend this place to anyone and there are plenty of better/nicer beach clubs in the area.

Very beautiful but overpriced and overrated beach club. We went to several other beach clubs and they were much nicer. This one has the most American tourists and all of the employees speak English. Don't get me wrong, we had a wonderful day there, but some of the other beach clubs are much nicer. The gift shop is super over priced. Food was delicious but overpriced. Gorgeous beach and water! This place is horrible. We ordered a salad. Mushy tomatoes slathered with goat cheese and some gelatinous yellow cheese on top. They didn't know how to make a tequila, neat. Service was non-existent and the place was practically empty. Don't waste your time or money to go to this supposedly great spot. Don't know what the appeal is. The food was bad and the service was worse. The host for the restaurant was well aware we were not happy and he did nothing. The waitress- "Sandrina" or something like that was haughty and rude as well. What a joke. This place is for people with no taste, literally. Incredibly bad and not even mediocre.

The lunch was absolutely delicious! The beach itself is totally overrated. Paid 61 euros to sit all the way in the back right next to the walkway for 2 sun beds, and yes we had a reservation. The best part is that after all that, towels are NOT included and they are sold for 80 euros each in their store (LOL, what a joke right?!) Guess what? The seaweed was in front of all the Club 55 beach and we pretty much went in the water in front of the public beach, literally right next door. Anyways, valet is complimentary and the lunch was indeed very very good! We ordered a pitcher of sangria, prosciutto and melon, beef tartar, and the sole meunière. Highly recommend lunch here! Everything was just oh so delicious and amazing.

An incredible time. Of course, you COULD get this experience anywhere else in the world - to be clear. But you go to Le Club 55 because it's LE CLUB 55 OF ST. TROPEZ. I was lucky to get a reservation on my birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better time. Serenaded by the hired band and impeccable drinks and food. Despite other reviews, other patrons were VERY friendly and also shared in the joy of my day. Valet parking was a plus, though there's also a public beach parking lot across the street. No celeb spottings (but we also weren't looking for any).

There is no better place in St. Tropez area,​ the ​place is epic and people watching​ might be best in Europe​. menu,​waitress​s and overall design eclectic beach house design are most unique. when I​ hit power ball​​ i am moving in with all my friends and loved ones :). most importantly, make sure you hang out the​ bar and talk to Cami, she is the best asset they have, stunning and even more pleasant!

Beautiful beach front restaurant that is a classic in St. Tropez. However, I will admit - slightly overrated. The food was great, the portions were quite large so I recommend going in a group and eating in a sharing style. The table set up is aesthetically pleasing and the location is photogenic. Live music (band and singer) was lovely. Is Le Club 55 overpriced? Yes. Is it a wonderful experience? Also yes. I'd recommend it for a special meal or if you're interested in a classy lunch by the beach. Heads up - although it is on the beach, people are a little more dressed up than just a bikini + cover up (look sharp).

This came highly recommended to us by friend and so we thought we would give it a shot. We were taking a Mediterranean cruise and this is one of our ports for the day. A cab ride took us from the port to the club. You can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas for the day (i'm pretty sure two lounge chairs and umbrella without a towel cost $70). They have a snack shack where you can order beverages or snacks and you can bring them down to the beach. There is also a really great gift shop on the beach. I would say overall it was amazing if money is not an object. Everything is super super expensive. We had an delicious lunch with the a bottle of rose. With the rentals of the lounge chairs and umbrella, plus the lunch and snacks last transportation to and from the area we probably had a $500+ day. But we figured it was a once-in-a-lifetime so that's why I'm giving this five stars. We knew what we were getting into.

This is one of my favorite places for lunch in St. Tropez. Make sure you have reservations as they always are fully booked. It's been around since the 50s and has many clientele that have been coming for years! Unlike most of the other beaches, Club 55 is not bumping with loud music. It's more laid back and reminds me of the Ivy in LA in some ways. Everyone orders the vegetable crudite. Huge heirloom tomaotes, radishes, cucumbers, carrots etc. arrive at the table with an incredible dip and grilled bread. I also recommend the mussels in white wine sauce. Lunch at Club 55 is not complete without dessert. The tarte tropeziene is a MUST! Order the one with the mini strawberries.

Le Club 55 is arguably the most famous beach club in the South of France. It draws in the celebrities and millionaires like bees on honey. The parking lot has more bentleys and ferraris than most cities. While we didn't run into Joan Collins on this visit, I did spy at least one celebrity dog decked out in an excessive among of bling. That said, it's a surprisingly sedate and low-key beach club and restaurant and families are more than welcome (unlike nearby party hot spot Nikki Beach). Le Club 55's open air "see and be seen" restaurant is set back from the beach and is well shaded under a canopy of trees. It's a massive space and feels almost like you're at a wedding with the large round tables, baby blue chequered tablecloths and white chairs. The service was friendly and remarkably unpretentious...lots of causal joking from our waitress who made more than one cheeky remark about our group's collective hangovers. The food while on the pricey side is good. My friends loved their mussels and I was rather happy with my steak frites. We didn't order the crudités which apparently is a must have at Le Club 55, as is ordering magnums of Rosé. After dining you can make yourself down to the beach where for a few euro you can get a shaded mattress on the sand. Note if you go to the beach, bring a towel...ones for sale at Le Club 55 go for 150 euro...yikes! Also make a booking (separate reservations required for the beach and the restaurant) a few weeks in advance. Le Club 55 is a St Tropez institution and you really haven't been to St Tropez if you don't spend a day here with a bottle of Rosé.

Overrated! Not sure why so many people and websites say this is a must-go in St Tropez, but it's just a beach with a ton of beach chairs that you can pay for to use for the whole day. Not really a big party if that's what you're looking for. ;) Do you need reservations? -- If you want a chair at the very front near the water, make reservations 3-4 days in advance. But, they have plenty of other chairs that aren't reserved in the back. Also, most people make reservations for lunch along with the beach chair. Should you bring towels? -- Yes! The towels they sell are SUPER expensive. Bring your own towel or if you see someone selling cheap towels on the beach, buy them. Do they take credit card? -- Yes for lunch, but for expenses on the beach (chairs + drinks), they only take cash. Service is not bad, but be nice to them! I saw someone who wasn't that nice and they got a chair in the very back although there were plenty closer to the front.

Hot spot for the beautiful people in the south of France. The food and service is very good. The people watching is excellent. We were a party of five and we all had a long and very nice four bottle of rose lunch. The beach afterwards was a ball. Make sure to get their famous vegetable basket accompanied by there signature sauce. I would come back here in a second.

Took a day trip to from Cannes to St Tropez as suggested from one of our good friends. Let me begin to say that the trip was worth it. Although we didn't see any star sightings, I think nonetheless it's something to cross off your bucket list. Have your concierge arrange reservations for lunch and beach chairs. They typically don't let walk-ins unless you're (a) connected or (b) French.

Full of Americans, English & Russians Club 55 on St Tropez's Pampelonne beach is worth a visit to watch the rich and the want to be rich strutting their stuff. Given its reputation, the price for lunch is less than you might think (around EUR50 to EUR60 including wine etc. providing you choose sensibly) the food is simple but okay, the waiters are busy and can be surly, and the people are loud, in all respects but you see some sights. Getting a table can be difficult the best way is to make a reservation at least a day before, then, on the day, go to the back of the restaurant grab a waiter and firmly register the fact that you're ready to take your table. Alternatively you can have a drink (EUR5 for a beer) in the main beach bar adjoining the restaurant which is very cool with its white sofas and which is as good a way as any to see what all the fuss is about.

THE place to be in the south of france! Great food, perfekt service! The best steak tartar and artichaut vinaigrette I've ever eaten! I love this place and I'm looking forward to visit this place next year!!

Pricey beach club as it is 59 euros for 2 beach chairs and umbrella or 89 euros for a thatched roof "cabana" with same chairs... But beach is beautiful and you can see the super yachts in the distance and the rafts docking to bring the super rich to lunch here... The restaurant is one of the best in seafood! Pricey also but well worth it! Must make reservation way in advance! Great fun and beautiful people watching!

The best hang out place at the Plage de Pampelonne. Super nice beach club with style and history, all the way back to the 1950ies. Why else the name Club 55??? Top notch service and you have a very comfortable day spread out sunbathing and swimming. The restaurant (you need reservations) is awesome with delicious food and drinks. Opt to start with Crudités, assortment of vegetables/boiled eggs and dips. Moules are superb! And to drink...., why not champagne, which fits the vibe at the club, or a nice bottle of vin rose from Cote de Provence? Great place which beats most of the other clubs festered with high volume music!

I expected much much more from the famous St. Tropex! The beach is sandy alright but nothing on the beach screams class. Compared to many other private resorts it is pretty ordinary . The water taste like gasoline of all the boats engine running in it. The restaurant is nice and I liked the atmosphere it creates for you from the Moment you enter. Why you should check it ou: 1. This is the nr. 1 place in St. Tropez if you want to be on the beach 2. You might see celebrities ( personally I didn't care about this one, your so busy enjoying your time I'm not sure you would notice them) 3. Sandy beach and amazing weather These are reasons I wouldn't go here: 1. Crazy traffic to get in and out ( only one lane road with man stops) 2. Crowded( forget coming here if your into relaxing and enjoying the breeze and sound of the waves! Your not getting that here) 3. Not a toddler friendly place( the beach area is jam packed with sun beds that only a short area is open to walk on/ play right before your in the sea) 4. The food is good but nothing to talk about. If you have kid under age 4 bring your booster chair for the restaurant as they don't have any to offer. 5.shower is sooooooo cold !!!!! Everyone who tok a shower after their swim reacted on how old the water was!!!!!!! If this is the private beach, I don't want to know any public beach in St.Tropez then!!!! Over all it was an interesting day. Yes I will go back again but with much much less expectations!

Was this going to be a St Tropez cliche spot? Yes and it was fabulous!! We fell somewhere in between the locals and the posers who just wanted to be rubbing elbows with celebrities and those who come for lunch off of their mega yachts anchored along the shoreline. It was heaven for us. We brought our kids who had a ball playing all day on the beach and ate at the more casual snack bar (snack bar is cash only, or you can add the kids bill to your lunch ticket in the main restaurant-which is what we did.) We had sun beds in about the third row (which we reserved 2 weeks out) and loved the relaxation of sitting under our umbrellas looking at the Mediterranean. Swimming is refreshing and blissful. As for lunch, the people watching is spectacular, the service attentive and friendly and the food--pretty good. Skip the artichoke, but the lentils salad was relish and friends enjoyed their omelet and quiche. The house rose for 30 euro was dry and good. We are staying in Mougins so the drive was about 1.5 hours. We planned to leave around 8am to avoid traffic which would have been smart but didn't get out of the house until about 9:30, getting us there around 11:30. The last 15KM into Club 55 is pretty stop and go but overall, well worth it!! There is a very nice boutique on the beach as well. Overall--a great spot and one that screams, "welcome to St Tropez."

Worst lunch ever. The service here is terrible! There are so many waiters/waitresses, yet you can't get decent service. Full of attitude and had to ask 4x for more water on the table. The food is WAY overpriced and not that good. Tables are too close together and congested. Never again!

Overhyped. At the restaurant they served us a bottle of wine already opened (in France, good restaurants always open the bottle in front of you to ensure there has not been any old wine funneled into it for example). They do not have lounge chairs, only headrests and beach mattresses - so the beach is way more crowded than those that use rows of lounge chairs. The bathroom situation is terrible: only 2 unisex stalls for the whole beach! And the door on one didn't lock. Huge lines to use the toilet. At the restaurant, there are mens and women's restrooms with three stalls each, which is still insufficient for such a crowded place. People get rude there too and to make you go faster will shut off the lights in the stall while you are inside. There is a huge line to park your car. Valet guys and nice (and handsome). The restaurant is beautiful and food gets at 7/10. Service 6/10 (slow). Cocktails 10/10 - great barmen l, especially the bald one.

This is a super swanky beach club if that's what you're looking for. I must say they have a very clean beautiful spot on Pampelonne Beach...but there is also a public area right next to it. Get there early to rent beds (before noon) or have a reservation. Everything is super expensive...but getting a decent bottle of rose is worth it. Bring towels as well as they do not supply them. The store next door is great and overpriced but beautiful items like kids toys, Turkish towels, beach bags and the like. The service is amazing. I recommend going during the day and have a late lunch to avoid the bougie dinner crowd.

This is for sure the spot to be at while vacationing in St. Tropez. The food here is very good and is always a good time! I like to come here and drink Rose all day and then walk up and down the beach and see many celebrities. The parking lot upon arrival is always impressive. Millions of euros in cars lined up in the whole lot. It is expensive but I don't even look at the bill when I'm done. It gets a little scary. It has a chill environment and isn't too loud like the other places up and down the beach. I also like their store on the beach to get a few things from time to time but be careful...the suntan lotion is crazy expensive. I can't wait to come back and enjoy myself with Elton John again!

You clearly don't go for the over priced, average food. You brunch there for the scene, still one of the busiest & trendiest in all of St Tropez. The white linens and buckets of Rose remind you that you are indeed in the South of France. After lunch, rent a beach chair & catch some sun in their private beach club area. Yes, prices and wait times are crazy during the busy months of July-August, but you do go there at that time to be seen, of course!

Fantastic beach club for lunch. Laid back vibe with delicious food . Standout starters include the big white asparagus or huge artichoke and a dessert to have has to be the wild strawberries In season! So good.

The most beautiful, natural beach setting in St. Tropez. You will need a reservation during the summer because this place is packed. But, either bring your towels or lots of cash because towels are not included with your mattress rental and cost $80 to $120 per towel in the beachside boutique. The beach attendants lacked the friendliness and service found at other nearby beach clubs, but the personalities of the servers in the restaurant made of for the service deficiencies on the beach.

Incredible lunch with the best people watching in the world.. After an amazing lunch you can go lounge on the beach on a day bed with a bottle of Rose'.. ohh St Tropez..

Would you like to visit the beach in St Tropez? Then you may need to go to a private beach club like Club 55! The other areas are mainly rocks.... They have everything you need, a restaurant and the best beach around! Be prepared to part with a few hundred euros though!

Since 1955, the place has changed a lot but has maintained a strong charm, even if its clientele has changed so much. The nice thing about Club 55 is that in spite of the success the food has stayed very good, simple mediterranean food, particularly for lunch this is one of the best places to go to in Saint Tropez, even if you are not staying at the beach (tip: try the moules-frites which are excellent and not really expensive). OK it can be a bit of a zoo but it's part of the fun, it's not all show off as La Voile Rouge and all the French "habitues" keep on coming back in spite of the strong internationalisation of the beach. If you are in Saint Tropez, definitely a restaurant (and a beach) worth trying. Note that the boutique always stock some nice gems for you to bring home.

If you find yourself in the south of France, a visit to Le Club 55 is mandatory. Make reservations in advance and strive for a 2pm seating. There's nowhere else like it in the world - savor your time there.

Yes it's expensive and yes it's full of posers, but it is still fabulous! Book a table at lunch enjoy Moules et Frites and drink copious amounts of rosé and then retire to one of the sun loungers to people watch. What better way to spend an afternoon? Club 55 is really unique, where else can you go where people arrive by yacht and get transported over to the restaurant via little shuttle boats? To get the true St. Tropez experience a visit here is a must and while I didn't get to see any celebs it was all still worth it all just to feel like I belonged in this world for one afternoon.

You better believe it that this place is probably my favorite place on earth. It is as good as it gets. If you have money to spend, definetly order the vegatable platter and bottles and bottles of rose. have a great time here.

If your dreams ever come true then you will end up eating here, in the south of France one day. Right on the beach with the French sand and their musical language all around you is this lovely Plage de Pampelonne ready to serve to the most wonderful French cuisine I have ever had. Though it is a private club we were welcomed with no problem and no reservations! Expensive. :) We had a variety of appetizers and a fantastic steak sandwich, a vegetable basket with a magic sauce along with a chicken dinner to blow your mind. The artichokes in vinagarette was surreal. And oh the baguettes! YUM! Servers were very kind to me, stumbling along with my lack of knowledge of their language. It was only 73 degrees but their were swimmers everywhere! Mimosas too! Bridget Bardot still lives in St Tropez and even tho she wasn't there, I could feel her love of this place and really understand why she chooses to live here. I left my heart in St Topez. I can't wait to return! Merci' Merci' I love you France!

Nice place, nothing more than that. Hundred of places like this around the world and much less pretencious. Unless you are missing the sixties with Gigi Rizzi and Brigitte Bardot no need to go there. Of course it is an icon of Saint Tropez. Book ahead and be prepared to pay an over expensive bill to eat like everywhere else in the area.

The location and atmosphere were quite nice but the food was just okay. For me, the views and people watching were much more memorable than the food.

Always great to come to Club 55. Sure there are newer clubs with a more hip vibe but this is the original and nothing will replace it anytime soon. Food is good and ambience is better.

A bit pricy but a great place to be. Booking is recommend since it is always very crowded. Here meets the high society. Almost everyday there is VIP-alarm. The best way to arrive is to come by boat and park in the bay. There is a shuttle service who picks up people from the boat to the beach. The food is very simple but great! I can recommend the mussels and the potatoes!!!! The atmosphere really great!!! A must be place at the cote dÁzur
