😊: The location was lovely, right opposite a little square with outdoor seating for food and drinks. Really interesting old buildings..
😢: I emailed the hosts with our estimated arrival time of around 3pm to check in, arrived after a short flight delay and spent about half an hour at the airport getting our phone internet working to order a taxi. Arrived at 3:30 to a "greeting" of 'You're late, we've been waiting for you, why are you late, it's not a bit city, you should have been here earlier! You told us 2pm and it's now 3:30!' REALLY rude awful way to start a holiday, especially given they'd got our arrival time wrong/misread my email.
The hosts continued to be unpleasant and made our stay feel really uncomfortable - we stayed in a very dark old building with uneven floors and left one night light on in the night so we could see and get around safely. We were awoken by one of the hosts waiting outside our bedroom door on the first morning to tell us off for leaving a light on and that we mustn't do it again.
The "copious continental breakfast" promised on the profile was a joke... for 2 adults we had 3 stale, mini pastries, and 1 hard bread roll - served with a BabyBel each! There was a jar of cereal on the shelf but no milk, so likely just for decoration and hardly what you'd expect given the cost. We told the hosts we would not have breakfast again after the first morning. (Even though the promise of a full continental breakfast was a huge part of the reason we booked here. To add insult to injury, there are a number of markets and shops within minutes walk with fresh breads, pastries, cheeses and meats! So to be given a babybel and a couple of hard pastries was a huge disappointment.)
We looked forward to a relaxing stress-free trip, but that was ruined from the start with a rude greeting, followed by a nasty wake up telling off, and finally a breakfast fit for a toddler..
