I'm officially over the burger trend in Paris. Not only that, I'm actually nostalgic for the days when you could count the number of burger joints in Paris on one hand.
What Dépanneur has is a great location, a cool space, enough wood paneling to build a few log cabins, and a lot of chutzpah charging over the top prices for its average food and drink.
In an attempt to eat light I ordered a large Caesar chicken salad. I thought this American joint should do everything right, not just burgers. I was wrong: the chicken was dry and overcooked, the dressing wasn't authentic and their croutons (while homemade) were tasteless and dry.
My dirty vodka martina was also a disaster, watered down and full of vermouth.
My husband's burger was super greasy and loaded with way too much sauce and the bun was over toasted. At 17E, everything should be perfect.
If you're looking for a fantastic meal and great cocktails, this is not your place. Plus the service was super slow and spotty. Not a fan.
