When you book a wellness weekend in a four-star hotel, expectations are high. We have done this before to relax from busy work periods and family. This is not worth four stars. The room was neat but small. The wellness was cava, but don't have high expectations if you have visited wellness hotels before. When you have found peace in the jacuzzi, maintenance staff will come next to you with a high-pressure cleaner to hose down the wooden floors. The great legacy is that the hotel advertises everything in French, with no alternative. You should at least see an English and/or Dutch translation. After all, the hotel is located in Belgium. No, the staff dryly says that everything is in French. When we went out for dinner in the evening at the 'highly' rated 'gastronomic' restaurant in a four-star hotel, expectations were very high. However, this was coldly suppressed by the dish, which was lukewarm and tasteless. When I pay 37 euros for an Iberico, I expect a well-seasoned and hot piece of meat with vegetables. No lukewarm steak with a cold portion of Polenta, and a minimal piece of spinach. The only warm thing about the dish was the sauce. We complained, but as befits French speakers, this was simply brushed aside. There is also a brasserie in the hotel where we were better received and we ordered a new dinner. However, the advertised grilled prawns were only cooked and because the peppers were gone in the kitchen, they were also missing from the plate. Because we asked about it, they told us so. At the Agnus cutting the vegetables were also cold again. So don't be misled! Absolute failure for gastronomy. Our proposal is that the staff have a wellness overnight stay and dinner in the nearest four-star hotel of the Van Der Valk chain!
