Stayed here on Saturday the 8th March 2025, with my partner and our small dog. |We arrived around 8pm, after a full day exploring some of the region including the beautiful city on Mons. |this is located on the outskirts of a small village and we were weclomed by the host,Raffaele. |We were shown to our beautiful room, and then had a tour of the castle. The joy that Raffaele has and the desire to make sure you enjoy your stay is infectious . He is the perfect host. |The rooms and castle are decorated in the time of Marie Antioinette, and while some people may think its over the top, it was very relaxing and so enjoyable. it was a look back in the time. There is no TV's or WIFI in the rooms or castle , which is perfect to get away and relax away from the day to day pressures of the modern world i,ts like stepping back in time. |It is decorated with much love of this period and in perfect style. ||IT WAS PURE JOY. ||So if you want to get away for a weekend or even just overnight, I would highly recommend this place. Its the perfect get away and so much fun. The breakfast is amazing and plentiful. ||You can take your dog , ( Naturally for a small fee, which is so nice) ||Raffaele is the perfect host.|Go spoil yourself, take a good book and enjoy stepping back in time and chill out. ||Would we go there again, MOST CERTAINLY. ||Raffaele, thank you for your hospitality, the joy and the passion for history and the warmth you showed us staying in your lovely home. It was pure joy. ||Rating : 5 stars all around :)

Close to the lovely city of Mons (with its spectacular Calatrava station!) and Pairi Daiza, the most beautiful zoon on Earth is a wonderful old castle in a marvellous green setting that awaits you. Host Raffaele welcomes you as if you are a nobleman, coming to stay at his chateau. The castle -more a manor house- may look underwhelming from outside, but the interiors are sumptuous, chic and luxurious. Louis XV, Louis XVI and a splash of seconde empire, but with contemporary touches like glittering wall paint... it is just breathtaking. Raffaele gave us a tour of the chateau which was much appreciated, he is a true history and culture buff. Our room on the second floor was very spacious with stunning silk brocade curtains and a grand king size bed with thankfully modern and super comfortable mattresses and bedding. Across the hallway was one of the chateau's hidden treasures: the sensational historical costume collection of Raffaele that we were allowed to admire and even try on. After a wonderful night (with our little dog on his own bed!) we started the day with a walk around the chateau, meeting the Ouessant sheep (living lawnmowers!) and then had a truly palatial breakfast in the salon, making us feel like two pampered princes just before 14 July 1789...! An exquisite stay, an unforgettable experience! NOTE: There is no tv in the rooms so if you are in need of one, bring your laptop and use the wifi. We were happy to just relax and read and feel like we were back in the 18th century. We can't wait to come back, thank you Raffaele and your enchanted chateau!

Amazing stay at a flamboyant castle converted from an old coach house built in the 1800s. The host is so friendly and accommodating. We came to visit Pairi Daiza and this was a perfect spot for it. The chateau has a big pond in the ground and geese and sheep live here free range. Everything is classically themed. The breakfast is mind blowing.

What an amazing find. Out of the blue. We needed a place to stay just one night, not far from the coast. C 2 to 3 hrs from Dunkirk. In a quick search my wife found this place, touted as a chateau and it fitted the bill. Upon arrival it wasn't a chateau, but a large old farm house and looked rather run down. We wondered what we'd got into. But as we drove into the drive and parked up we started to think this might be something special. Two small lakes/large ponds, with ducks and geese and a peacock. Sheep and goats. Old carts and carriages. This was beginning to look like a hidden treasure. We rang the bell of the huge front door and were greeted by the owner. An Italian/Belgium with a huge welcoming smile dress as if he'd time travelled from the 1700s. As we got to know him in our short stay we learnt what a lovely man he is and he couldn't do enough to make our stay not just enjoyable, but an experience not to be missed or forgotten. The rooms were all decorated and fitted out in period furniture and fittings. There were manikins dressed in period costumes, all made of paper! It is truly lovely and makes for a wonderful romantic stay. Sadly he plans to close the restaurant as the work load is far too much for him - he needs an investor IMHO, but he was open for us. 7 tables, that's all there is so it is very intimate and personal. The menu is simple, "any allergies". "Meat or fish". That's it. 5 courses, changed each month. I took a picture of all of ours, bar the 1st course. It was a most memorable dinner and the food was excellent. Not Michelin but to a high standard. But it was an experience too. Immersed in the past. 160 for the two of us and more wine than we needed (Champaign infusion was lovely and different and the home made lemoncello the best I've had and we visit Lemone on lake Garda). My wife fell in love with the goats and now wants one for the garden here in London. Not sure about that. We must go back for a weekend. Thank you, thank you for an amazing stay!
