This Southeast Asian City Should Be Top of Your Culinary Travel List

"A casual sibling launched by chef Thitid Tassanakajohn as part of a sky-high dining complex atop a Sathorn skyscraper, offering a more relaxed counterpoint to the chef’s fine-dining flagship." - Chris Schalkx

Our evening at Le Du Kaan was spectacular. The panoramic view of the Bangkok skyline was absolutely mesmerizing, this is our number one rooftoprestaurant we have ever been to. The atmosphere was lively yet elegant, a live DJ set the mood perfectly, playing smooth and upbeat tracks. The food was exceptional and beautifully presented. Each dish was a delightful surprise and the cocktails were also very good. Everything about Le Du Kaan, from the vibe, the view and the great food made for an unforgettable experience. It’s definitely one of Bangkok’s top spots for dining with a view. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy great food, music, and skyline views all in one place!

Food was good. As far as taste I would give it a 5. As far as price I would give it a 3 so that's why I averaged it a 4. I understand that you're paying for the ambiance. Unfortunately due to the light rain they had to move us to the inside. The music was really loud and kind of killed the vibe of a romantic dinner. It's easy to get spoiled in Bangkok with so many restaurants that have great food what's much better pricing. I would recommend going there just for cocktails to enjoy the view outside.

Lunch is served as a set menu, dinner à la carte. Food was average — more suited to foreigners, with thick, slightly sweet curry-like sauces, not to Thai tastes. At lunch, we had to keep asking for serving spoons despite sharing dishes; staff at this price point should anticipate such needs. Visited on Mother’s Day and my brother’s birthday — cake storage was an issue, and we had to ask multiple times before it was served. Complimentary dessert for Mother’s Day was a nice touch, but overall, for the price, the food should have been much better.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday dinner here and we could say that everything was absolutely so right: Decoration, Food, Service and most of all Atmosphere! The stunning rooftop view in the heart of the city along with the extraordinary taste of the food and desserts made our day so much more special and memorable. Especially and highly recommended all of Chef Ton’s dessert dishes. Also our special thanks to the lovely staff (Khun Boom) for the exceptionally outstanding service. Her attentive and helpful attitude was truly a great part of our special celebration today. If you are looking for a place to celebrate your special occasion, or even for a usual casual dining, Le Du Kaan is absolutely the right choice.

everything was perfect! The restaurant is absolutely stunning, with a spectacular rooftop right in the heart of the city. I was lucky enough to get a seat outside, and it made the experience even more special. A big shout-out to the lovely short-haired female staff member (LG)—her service was outstanding and she was incredibly sweet. It was one of the most memorable birthday dinners I’ve ever had. 💓 Everyone should experience a dinner like this at least once in their life. Highly recommended!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Le Du Kaan in Bangkok, and it was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The food was simply exceptional – every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, highlighting the creativity and mastery of the kitchen. What really elevated the evening was the impeccable service. The guest manager, Cara, deserves special mention. She was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond by personally showing us around the other connected restaurants within the Empire Tower. Her passion and hospitality made us feel not only welcome but also part of something truly special. To round off the evening, we enjoyed drinks at the bar at Nobu, which were crafted to perfection – a perfect blend of elegance and sophistication. Overall, Le Du Kaan offers a top-class dining experience that combines outstanding cuisine, world-class service, and a vibrant atmosphere. Without a doubt, this is one of the best culinary experiences Bangkok has to offer, and I cannot wait to return.

Atmosphere: The ambiance was pleasant and welcoming. At first glance, the restaurant presents itself as an upscale dining experience. Service: Unfortunately, the service was quite disappointing. Our waiter abandoned our table after taking over a larger group and did not return. In the end, we had to go to the bar ourselves to settle the bill. To add to that, we were informed at the beginning that several dishes on the menu were unavailable, which already lowered expectations. Food: The food was okay but nothing memorable. It lacked the finesse one would expect from a place that presents itself as fine dining. Overall, it felt more average than exceptional. Conclusion: A rather underwhelming experience. The restaurant does not live up to the standards it aims to project—especially in terms of service and food quality. There’s definitely room for improvement.

I had originally notified the restaurant when making the reservation that we wanted a table with a nice view because we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday. However, on the day of the reservation, it rained, and the restaurant informed us that we couldn't sit outdoors and would be arranged for an indoor table. I understood that, but they assigned us a table inside with not much of a view. After noticing several tables were already settling their bills, It took several negotiations before we could finally get a table by the window. Additionally, after making the reservation, the restaurant informed us that men were required to dress appropriately, meaning no tank tops or flip-flops. I reminded my boyfriend to dress suitably for the occasion, but then a tour group arrived, and several of the men were wearing tank tops, sports shorts, and rubber shoes. I was a bit surprised. The atmosphere suddenly became noisy as they communicated loudly with their tour leader, which ruined the ambiance. When the rain stopped, we noticed that this tour group had moved outdoors. My boyfriend quickly asked to be moved outside as well, but we still ended up sitting near them. The scenery was beautiful, but they were very loud and disruptive, which completely took away the romantic atmosphere, making it feel more like a food court. We decided to sit a little longer before settling the bill and leaving. I was a bit surprised, as it felt like we had gone to a restaurant that caters to tour groups.
