If you’re visiting Antibes and appreciate history, I recommend touring this Fort! The staff was very nice and encouraged taking pictures. The fort itself was a little smaller than I expected and further from the train station than I anticipated, but the walk was very pretty! Bring water if you go on a sunny day.

Well worth the visit. There was a temporary change in access road due to work on the coastal path, but the floral and fauna among with the 🦋 and other insects added to the route up. Not too steep but more of a steady climb. Some steps. Tickets at the door. Views were beautiful, and structure well worth the visit. The only negative was that more of the history could be translated in some of the rooms. Highly recommended.

A great piece of history alongside some fantastic views across Antibes and the marina. The staff were warm and friendly, it was nice numbers in the fort and battlements were controlled, making for a much better experience.

Old castle located about 1km from the city center. You can walk along the coast or next to the road to get to the fort, wich is a lot shorter. The view from the fort is nice and there are some rooms to visit, but overall there is not much to see.

Beautiful medieval castle. The road to the castle was a bit of a climb, but the view and the historical experience were well worth it.

We enjoyed the lovely sea and city views form the fort and its surrounding park. Once inside, we learned about its importance as one of the first bastioned forts in France and were impressed by its preservation/restoration. It was a pleasant visit with a modest entrance fee, not to mention a charming docent who took lovely, artistic photos of us with our phones.

This fort was built almost 475 years ago and while it was important for many years for defense purposes and then as a prison, once Nice became part of France it really became obsolete. The fort is built in the shape of a star so that it corner of the fort has an unobstructed view of the surrounding area. It’s a great hike around the outside of the fort where you can see parts of modern Antibes, the marina, the rocky coastline, and a sandy beach area. The fort is open year round although hours and days to vary based on the time of year. Tickets are only 3€. I would suggest allowing yourself about an hour to walk around the inside of the fort. There is a lot of history there. Enjoy!
