Whenever we come to Arles, we always enjoy dining at Le Galoubet — a reliable choice with an excellent quality/price ratio and refined yet simple dishes, always beautifully presented. That said, the service was very poor. The owner was kind and very helpful, but the blonde waitress was more than rude. I don’t expect a red carpet to be rolled out for me, but neither do I expect eye-rolling and visible annoyance just because we didn’t immediately understand a minor detail — due to our French, which is understandable though not perfect. The entire service was marked by this same attitude. It was almost a relief to realize that she behaved like this with everyone, regardless of nationality. Truly excellent food, unfortunately spoiled by terrible service.

A great surprise in the heart of Arles' historic center. The food is made fresh with seasonal ingredients so don't count on a pages-long menu. The set menus are well-priced considering the level of quality and preparation gone into each dish. Wait staff is very friendly and bilingual. Warm cosy fire (if coming in winter) and intimate atmosphere if you want to get away from the super loud restaurants.

Set French menu. Good food for the price. It was raining hard tonight and it was really comfortable indoors. The blonde waitress mentioned in other reviews was helpful, efficient and thoughtful. The other staff were all very pleasant too. The only downside is that it feels slightly rushed as they do 2 sittings with everyone arriving at once.

It’s a unique address in Arles. The owners could be smilier but I praise their good taste in ingredients, menu and decor. BTW: the beautiful wall lamps were designed by the owner.

Food was good but there was sand in the salad, which was very surprising. Perhaps not worth the cost. Get a reservation which requires a phone call.

Ratatouille was very good! The risotto was not the typical Italian risotto you imagine but it was creative and interesting to try. Desert was incredible!

Yelp
First on our list of restaurant contenders in Arles was Le Galoubet. The woman at the front desk of our hotel happily made a reservation for us, since pretty much everyone says you need a reservation to get a table there. She seemed to be on a first name basis with whomever it was on the other end of the line. It was warm enough to sit outside, and we were given the last table on the patio out front. The starters were a mixed bag. I ordered the octopus salad, which was bland and uneventful. My wife ordered an incredibly tasty leek salad with sardines and hazelnuts, which she happily devoured. But the highlight was the mains. I ordered what was basically a New York strip cooked medium rare in a morel mushroom sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection - and on the rarer side - while the sauce was very subtle, but you could still get a bit of that earthy, mushroomy flavor. I'd been craving a dish like this for several days, and it totally hit the spot. My wife's dish may have been even better: cornish hen bathed in a creamy, herb-infused sauce with freshly sautéed shitake mushrooms. My god this was delicious. The hen was amazingly juicy and tender, and generous amounts of rosemary and flat-leaf parsley made this dish explosively flavorful. The potent shitakes were rich and earthy, and perfectly suited/melded with everything else. For dessert, I had this chocolate thing with nougat inside and a nice caramel sauce, while my wife had this thing that was a pile of whipped cream and broken pieces of meringue with raspberries, raspberry coulis, and red currants. I liked mine better, but the wife's was light and refreshing, which suited the summer-like weather. And before we were halfway through our meal, the place was full. We saw the hostess turn away at least a dozen people, so good call on the reservation.

Yelp
It's super excellent! The anglet de beouf is super. The terrase is beautiful and the waitress is nice. I would come back to arles for the beef here.

Yelp
We enjoyed our meal here. Lovely setting, and affordable (33€ for 3 courses). The chicken was a bit on the dry side (I'd still return but order something else) and the coffee was undrinkable (ah...France.)

Yelp
We ate in a wide range of small bistros like this in Lyon, Arles and Aix, and this was one of our favorites. A great 3-course, fixed price meal, at a very fair price, plus a very comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. You can't go wrong here.

Yelp
Our AirBnB host recommended this restaurant and it was wonderful. Lunch on the terrace was delicious, excellent service and the best wine we had on our entire trip. Definitely make a reservation, the place is small.

Yelp
Hands down the best place to eat in Arles. A fireplace is lit when its cold and for 29 euros you can choose any item from each course. It can get busy since this seems to be where ALL the locals are.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch after a wonderful morning traversing the sites and city streets and alleys. The staff and owner? were very welcoming and let us sit outside as the sun had come out despite all customers at the time being inside. We had the most divine spinach salad - literally talked about it for the rest of the day. It was followed by a delicious sea bass that made for the perfect lunch in this beautiful city. I can't remember what dessert was, but I remember it being good! Just a lovely spot in a lovely town. Perfect for tourists looking for a friendly faces with delicious food.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Of our four dishes the other night, three were hits -- beef, duck, and risotto -- while the fish (mackerel) was a miss. The risotto was stellar, and the beef and duck were right up there, too. The fish didn't work quite so well. The salads and desserts were very good, too, and the presentation was gorgeous. The service was friendly and attentive. In all, a lovely dinner. If the fish had worked, this would have been a 5-star review.
