Excellent! Four Stars! Yum Yum Yum! It was 33 Euros for Entree (appetizer), Plat Principal, et Dessert- a good deal!
It was our ladies' night, and we booked a table for 7 in advance. We showed up sporadically, drank a bottle of champagne and gabbed until the full party was there. Then finally, we looked at the menu- written on the chalkboards in French. We struggled with exotic words we did not know, and the waiter chuckled and brought us English menus. Funny thing, there were many things on the menu so exotic they did not really translate! An adventure!
We all ordered various things- EVERYONE was happy, especially the ladies who split le cote de boef, cooked perfectly medium-rare, seasoned brilliantly, and served on a platter with several cuts, including ribs!
My starter was the mushrooms served with Parma ham in a melon puree. Delish. For my plat principal, I had the HAKE, served perfectly sautéed with crispy skin. mmmm.. and a brilliant citrus emulsion and eggplant caviar accompaniment. Finally, against better judgment I enjoyed the chocolat et praline dessert- it was too big and too rich for one- SHARE!!!!
The waiter was excellent and gracious, even though with increasing wine, he was flirted with aggressively by our table. Poor man.
Nice find, on the street leading up to the Moulin Rouge -which is kind of fun to walk out and see the bright blades spinning at the top of the street- but alas, I am a sucker that way.
