Le Général d'Elbée - Hôtel & Spa

Overall Nice hotel in a beautiful location on this lovely island in the Loire. The breakfast was very good, and the draft beer was excellent. Concierge service — especially from Julien — was outstanding; they assisted us with everything we asked for. Positives • Beautiful setting and convenient location • Spacious, nicely furnished room • Excellent concierge service (special thanks to Julien) • Good breakfast and well-poured beer Negatives • Service can be extremely slow • Reception closes at 23:00 — surprising for a hotel in this price range, as 24h reception should be standard • The room’s lighting was strange and not cozy, which was a pity given the size and furnishings • Air conditioning didn’t work during our stay • No advance notice that there would be a concert right outside the hotel every night; while some guests might enjoy it, it can be disruptive, especially by the pool or in the room. A warning (or even a discount) would have been appreciated. Conclusion A charming hotel in many ways, with excellent concierge service, but with several service and comfort issues that should be addressed to match the premium rates charged.

Great high end luxury hotel situated near the centre of Noirmoutier adjacent to the castle. Staff were generally very pleasant and friendly in all areas of the hotel. Breakfast was a decent choice of hot and cold dishes. Pool area is an attractive space to spend time and relax. Room was comfortable and the balcony an added bonus. Parking is limited to first come, first serve basis, nearby payable parking is available otherwise. Generally recommend this venue and would return.

Fantastic hotel ideally placed next to the castle in Noirmoutier. All the facilities are top notch and the staff cannot do enough for you. Special mention to Julien who helped us with the finer details of our trip. Rooms are nicely decorated and the pool is a welcome, tranquil place to while away a sunny hour or two. Some great restuarants around as the hotel does not have a dinner restuarant. Parking available reserved adjacent to the hotel. Superb

Perfect stay, beautiful accommodation and a lovely team. Our family suite, was perfect on the ground floor, giving easy access to the pool, which I would highly recommend..great spot from which to explore the charming village!||Peaceful and relaxing!

There is a lot to love about this hotel and I highly recommend staying here. The location next to the castle and harbour, the e-bikes that get you anywhere on the island, the stylish interior decoration. Just keep an eye on the hidden charges: 25 euros for breakfast is rather steep

I loved the bar becausue it was quiet and I could work on my laptop several days in a row. Very friendly service.

We loved staying at Le General d'Elbee. The location on the Island is ideal as it's the perfect spot for shopping, dining and a great starting point for various bike ride routes. We have visited Il de Re and D'Oleron and it's a nice 'middle ground' between the two. Very French which we loved. ||||The staff were so lovely and accommodating. Very well made cocktails (super important for us)! and really nice deli options in the bar area for a lighter evening meal. Plenty of breakfast options, very nice pool area, very nice decor. The Spa looked lovely but we didn't make time to sample it. We like to keep busy! Most evenings ended in chess battles. ||||It was just a lovely place to spend time and relax.

We stayed here for two nights during our trip to France. The hotel is very centrally located for the center of town and restaurants. The staff could not have been more helpful or efficient. I would not hesitate to return if we visit the area again.
