Le Général Hôtel, a Design Boutique Hotel Paris, France

"Le general is a cleverly designed budget hotel that prides itself on offering a calming space to relax at an affordable price. The hotel has been carefully decorated. It is stylish and fun while still evoking an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. Rooms are reasonably sized with crisp linen and neutral earthy tones of browns and greys offset by pops of colour such as brightly coloured throws, and mustard yellow armchairs with raspberry cushions. Charming and unusual touches such as the apples on the pillows add to the quirky allure of this reasonably priced 4*hotel. The hotel boasts a comprehensive fitness suite. After your work out, why not treat yourself to a massage or sauna or head down to the funky fuchsia bar for a relaxing glass of wine or a delicious cocktail? With its spotlights, dark wooden flooring and pink walls the bar is also a great place to have a pre-dinner drink or two before heading out. A Business Centre is also located at the hotel for your convenience where a quiet space for work with high speed internet connection is available. If you want to stay inside, room service is available from Midday to 2.30pm – 7pm to 10pm. If you prefer a quieter area but still want to be in a decent location Le General is a good choice. Situated in a peaceful part of the Marais district there is still plenty to see and do within walking distance of the hotel. Visitors can browse the open ait markets, check out the impressive flea market and visit the many great museums and galleries such as the Musée Picasso and the awe inspiring Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers, both of which are right on your doorstep ." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Hôtel Le Général was the perfect place to stay in Paris! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming; they truly went above and beyond to make our visit comfortable. The rooms were a bit small but modern and well maintained. The location couldn’t be better — close to great cafés, shops, and easy access to the metro, making it simple to explore the city. We also loved having access to the sauna — such a relaxing way to unwind after a day of walking around Paris. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a stylish, comfortable, and well-located stay!

I cannot say enough good about this hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted by Thomas, who had a marvelous personality. He greeted us with a glass of champagne. Although he also offered beer or wine if you liked. He gave us great information regarding the area and answered all our questions. The rooms were beautiful and spotless. Bathrooms were good size with rain showers, nice hot water and toiletries. There was a Nepresso machine, which we all love! As well as a Marshall speaker, so we could listen to our music. Highly recommend! All of the staff were fantastic. Judy USA

I found the staff very helpful, really going the extra mile. The room was not huge (this is Paris) but the huge bed was amazingly comfortable. The bathroom was surprisingly large. Great water pressure in the shower. Relatively quiet, even though we faced the street but it’s not a busy road. I’d stay there again.

We stayed for three nights in August and had a lovely experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room although small was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. We also had a small balcony. Excellent location for lots of sight seeing, eateries and cafes/bars. Would highly recommend.

We spend two nights in this lovely hotel and we were very happy! The personal is friendly, the room looked good. The breakfast was fresh and had a good quality. Overall it is a nice place to spend your holiday or your business trip. Thanks to it‘s location, you are fast in the city.

Traveled as a group of 3 wanting a nice space in a semi-residential area vs. paying 1k-plus a night or gambling on airbnb. This worked out really well - comfortable bedding in the room, enjoyable shared space in the lobby, and the kids really liked the little treats. Appreciated how the room was set up for 3 people (as per the booking), with the sofa bed unfolded and 3 robes/sets of towels when we checked in. Warm and friendly staff. The room itself (junior suite) was definitely TIGHT though with the sofa bed unfolded, and barely a foot of clearance btwn the edge of the sofabed and the wall. A few weird aspects - plenty of towels but no washcloths, and no shelves/drawers besides a single hanging rod nook and a small cabinet-type shelf in sitting room area. Enjoyed the shared bikes/skateboards/scooter too. Also really close to 2 metro lines. Would definitely consider staying here again.

I stayed at Le Général Hôtel with my 12-year-old daughter in July 2025. The staff were friendly and attentive, our room was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning. The hotel’s metro access made sightseeing easy, and thoughtful touches like the toiletries, sweets and welcome postcard on arrival impressed us. I would happily stay at Le Général again and recommend it to others.

We stayed at Le General Hotel for two nights and had such a lovely time. The location couldn’t be better—really central and just a minute from the metro, which made exploring Paris super easy. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, which we really appreciated. Our room was cosy and quiet, and the bed was very comfy! Loved the robe and slippers too, such a nice touch. Big thank you to the team for making our stay so enjoyable—we’d definitely come back and recommend this hotel when visiting Paris!

Yelp
Absolutely love this hotel. This is our second time here and we found out there are just 45 rooms which I like bc it makes it more like a boutique. Keep in mind, no hotel is ever 'centrally' located in Paris, bc Paris is so big, but it was centrally located to all the things WE wanted to do. And with traffic, although places are a mile or two miles away, it's always a 20-25 minute drive. The Ritz hotel where we had afternoon tea was about 3-miles away and Champs Elysees where there is luxury/designer shopping is about 3-miles away as well. All about a $10-$15 uber ride. The airport I think is about 20 miles away but an hour by car. It was about $45 for an uber which beats at taxi for $65. About the hotel itself, let's start with the staff which were VERY friendly. We got to know Abraham and Yanis during our stay; they were very friendly. They were very attentive and helpful with everything we needed. The hotel has everything and more. Breakfast was not included in our stay but they have a big spread in the morning. They have a small gym consisting of three cardio machines (a sit-down recumbent bike, elliptical and treadmill), along with some very light misc. weights. I was happy with this as I just needed to get some cardio in. No reservation needed like other hotels. The room is very luxe and décor very modern. Most hotel rooms are small in Europe, but I would say this one is small - average. It's located in a good & safe area, and the hotel is nice and clean with modern décor. There is a safe and iron in the room. Don't remember if there was a fridge. I would definitely come back again.

Yelp
Not often do you find a romantic hotel that is also family friendly. Absolutely pitch perfect in balance between chic & practical, a wonderful stay for a couple or a small family. I'd love to keep them to myself but the property and staff is just too good not to share.

Yelp
This is in the Republique section. The Front Desk(or shall I say Kiosk; it's just a freestanding square of a desk) Man was totally helpless and clueless. Concierge gave me maps that didn't show where the hotel was-'cause it's too small of a street? so was vague about where exactly I was (thank god for iPhones!) The Bell Man, when i asked him to call me a cab for me and my two 6 year olds, he told me there was some taxi stand out where ever yonder that wasted 30 minutes of my time as I got lost! AND was late for my concert! So annoying! It's funny how everyone is trying to make a modern hotel out of whatever they have yet our bed was old, creaky, small and uncomfortable, miniscule closet was unusable except to hang one jacket and toss my empty folded shopping bags into. Bath tub was in our master bedroom and toilet was through the sink/vanity walkthrough to front door. Very awkward layout to say the least! It was "trying" to be modern and clean and sort of worked; if you think everything in Paris is tiny. I guess the name is befitting, General. All the toiletries were L'Occitane and tub had fizzy tablets which was nice. Breakfast was typical Euro style but bowls of Bread and croissants stay there unchanged as people come and go...kinda sketch? For a great price & your great sense of direction: this is do-able! *Only BONUS is Walking distance to an Isabel Marant shop!

Yelp
Good location, close to the Place de la République, restaurants, shops, and metro. Nice toiletries. Bathroom configuration is a bit odd, but probably due to space constraint. Check in/out is straightforward. Overall a good experience. Room for improvement: towel warmer was broken, front desk promised to fix but did not fix; make breakfast complimentary (as this is a relatively small hotel).

Yelp
This hotel has had some of the best service i have ever received, it is clean and very boutique. At arrival my family and i were greeted with strawberry cheesecake and a choice of champagne or juice while we waited in the lobby for our room. Luiz the man at the front desk was very welcoming and even helped us direct our way to some locations on a map he gave us. I was told before coming to france that french people dont like english speaking people but i have not experienced anything like that here.

Yelp
Pros: Decent location, nice bathroom amenities (towel warmer). Cons: Crappy wi-fi, small rooms, no corkscrews in the rooms, don't change the sheets daily, no wash clothes.
